Vol. 2 Ch. 99
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
Leon stared at the tiny nub of chocolate sticking out from between Rosvisser's lips, barely the size of a soybean, and couldn't help but swallow nervously.
It was so short that there was no way to avoid kissing her if he leaned in.
While kissing Rosvisser or holding hands when they were alone wasnât an issue, doing it in front of their daughters was an entirely different matter. Leonâs face would turn beet red if they kissed in front of the kids.
But that smug look on Rosvisserâs face told him she didnât mind at all.
In fact, she seemed to be relishing in Leonâs awkward hesitation.
If he didnât give up, heâd have to kiss her.
If he admitted defeat, heâd lose to Rosvisser in the game.
No matter how it played out, the Queen would win, which was why she was so pleased.
Leon saw through her little scheme, and after a moment of hesitation, he sighed and said, âI forfeit.â
Better to admit defeat than to kiss her in front of the girlsâhe wasnât about to give them the idea that he was madly in love with their mother.
âEh~ Come on, Dad! You gave up!â Moon pouted, her little tail swishing in frustration.
Even Noa seemed surprised that the usually invincible Leon would admit defeat so easily.
Was kissing their mom in front of them really harder than defeating six Dragon Kings in a ten-second battle?
Luckily, Noa had a backup plan.
âWell, since you forfeited, Dad, you have to choose between a truth or a dare as your punishment,â Noa said.
Leon, ever the good sport, replied, âIâll go with truth.â
Sitting calmly on the grass, Rosvisser rested her chin in her hand, watching the interaction between her husband and their daughters. She didnât really care whether Leon picked truth or dareâsheâd left the decision in their daughtersâ capable hands.
Besides, she knew she could always tease some secrets out of him later, like in the middle of the night when they were alone.
âIâll ask! Iâll ask!â Moon immediately raised her hand, bouncing with excitement. âDad, when you and Momââ
âHold on, Second Sister!â Aurora quickly clamped her hand over Moonâs mouth before she could finish.
Moon blinked her big eyes. âMmmf?â
Aurora turned her mischievous gaze on Leon. âDad, how can a brave man like you, who fears nothing, choose the easy route of truth? If it were me, Iâd choose dare. But I guess Iâm just a kid and donât understand your deep thinking.â
Leonâs eye twitched slightly. Was his youngest really trying to challenge him with a reverse-psychology trick?
Did she really think he wouldnât pick up on her meaning?
He smirked internally. *Nice try, kiddo, but your little trick wonât work on me.*
âOh, sweetheart, I just chose truth because I wanted to get through the punishment quickly so we could move on to the next round,â Leon explained.
Aurora raised an eyebrow. âReally, Dad? Thatâs the reason? I guess I was wrong to think you were scared of a little dare. Silly me.â
Noa, playing along, added, âYeah, I thought he was just afraid of taking the dare. I mean, who knew our dad was so focused on efficiency? Iâm so moved, I could cry.â
Moon, meanwhile, looked around confused. âWhat are you guys talking about? Why does this feel weird?â
At this point, Leon was starting to squirm, feeling like he was being cornered. âCome on, you canât really think Iâm afraid ofââ
âOh, I think youâre afraid,â Rosvisser chimed in with a smirk, delivering the final blow.
Leon shot her a glare.
Rosvisser: â®(â¯â½â°)â
âIâm not afraid! Who said Iâm afraid? A dare? Fine! Iâll take it!â Leon puffed up his chest, trying to salvage his pride.
Rosvisser discreetly flashed a victory sign to the girls, who nodded back in silent triumph.
Clearly, the "dare" tactic was always going to be the most effective way to trap their dad.
Leon, having fallen for the bait, boldly asked, âWhatâs the dare? Bring it on!â
âDad, you donât need to be so nervous. Itâs really simple~â Noa said, her tone calm and collected. âJust kiss Mom.â
It was like a thunderclap. Leon froze.
*Seriously? Am I really doomed to this fate no matter what I do?*
If he hadnât forfeited, heâd have had to kiss her.
If he did forfeit, the dare still made him kiss her.
*Why is she so obsessed with me kissing her in front of the kids?*
Meanwhile, Rosvisser remained calm as ever, though a slight blush crept across her cheeks. She wasnât particularly opposed to some public displays of affection, especially if it helped maintain the familyâs happy image.@@novelbin@@
The only one making a big deal out of it was Leon, who still got flustered even though theyâd been together for ages.
If not for the girls' clever setup, he probably wouldnât have the guts to kiss her in front of them.
âCan we⦠can we switch it to something else?â Leon tried to plead.
Aurora shook her head. âNope. Dad, are you really too scared to do it?â
Before Leon could respond, Noa chimed in, adding fuel to the fire. âThe man I admire doesnât even have the courage to kiss his own wife? How disappointingâ¦â
âI can!â Leon burst out. âIâm not scared at all!â
Suddenly, Leon was struck by the realization that his daughters had entered a strange ârebellious phase,â something he mentally dubbed the âlittle dragoness phase.â
Especially now that Aurora had joined her two older sisters, their antics were becoming more and more daring.
Maybe he needed to rethink the whole âthird childâ idea. What if the next one ended up being even more of a troublemaker than Aurora? This house was chaotic enough as it was.
âHurry, Dad!â Moon clapped her hands, chanting, âKiss Mom! Kiss Mom!â
Leonâs face was beet red as he glanced at Rosvisser, who was watching him with an amused smile.
âIâm telling you, your dad is easily embarrassed,â she teased. âEven when weâre alone, he gets shy just holding my hand.â
âLies! Thatâs a total lie! Iâm super brave!â Leon quickly defended himself.
âHmm... so why are you hesitating when our daughters just want to see you kiss me?â Rosvisser asked, her smile growing wider.
Her expression clearly said, *Iâm teasing you, and you canât do anything about it.*
*Great,* Leon thought bitterly. *Iâve got three mischievous little dragons and their queen pulling the strings.*
âIâm not hesitating. I was just worried youâd be upset,â he muttered.
âWhy would I be upset? Go ahead, kiss me.â Rosvisser leaned in slightly, closing her eyes.
âCome on, Dad, we even covered Auroraâs eyes for you!â Moon called out.
Aurora: ?
Moon had her hands over Auroraâs eyes, though she was peeking through her fingers to make sure she didnât miss anything.
Leon sighed, took a deep breath, and then placed his hands on Rosvisserâs shoulders.
Her face was as beautiful as ever, and seeing it up close, his blush deepened even more.
*Why am I hesitating?* he scolded himself. *Itâs just a kiss, and weâve done this a million times!*
He slowly leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
Rosvisser tilted her head slightly, brushing her lips against his in a gentle, familiar motion.
It wasnât a deep kissâjust a soft, tender one, appropriate for the moment.
âOkay, done! Are you satisfied now?â Leon asked, pulling away with a sigh of relief.
Moon was bouncing with excitement. âSatisfied! Satisfied! Weâre going to have a new baby sister soon, I just know it!â
Aurora glanced at her overly excited second sister, wondering if she should break the news that kissing wasnât actually how babies were made.
After a moment of thought, she decided against it.
Telling Moon would only make her sad.
But if she didnât tell her, Moon would stay happy, eagerly anticipating a new sibling.
Their parents would be happier too, able to be affectionate without sneaking around.
And Aurora herself would get to enjoy all the mischief along the way.
So, in the end, keeping quiet would make everyone happy.
*Yesâ¦* Aurora grinned to herself.
*I am the Silver Dragon Clanâs true goddess of mischief.*
