Vol. 3 Ch. 12
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
The couple, carrying their children, left the school building.
Leon sighed in relief.
Rosvisser glanced at him and asked, âWhy do you look so relieved?â
âIs it that obvious?â Leon replied with a question.
âYes, it is.â
Rosvisser said, âYou might as well have written âThank goodness *such and such* didnât happenâ across your face.â
Leon scratched his head, chuckling. âItâs nothing really, just that we managed to drop Noa off at school without running into that old geezer, the Vice Principal.â
At that, the Dragon Queenâs pupils narrowed.
It was true.
Every time they came to the academy, they would inevitably encounter Wilson, the old dragon.
It wasnât just the meeting that was the issue.
That old dragon had a reputation for being a âyoung heart in an old body,â always leading the charge in gossip and shipping couples.
Rosvisser believed that if the academy allowed it, Wilson would probably erect a statue of her and Leon in the courtyard, commemorating their legendary romance.
âHmm... not running into him is indeed a good thing,â Rosvisser agreed. âOtherwise, we might not have avoidedââ
âAre the Melkvey family here? Has the Melkvey family arrived?â
Before they could even think about popping champagne to celebrate, the sound of their names being called echoed from the academyâs loudspeakers.
The couple exchanged glances, a bad feeling rising in their hearts.
âIf the Melkvey family can hear this, please proceed to the administration building, where Vice Principal Wilson is waiting for you.â
Leon: â¦
Rosvisser: â¦
âDamn it! Every time we try to celebrate, something goes wrong!â Leon growled through gritted teeth.
There were hardly any dragons in this world capable of making Leon speechlessâuntil he met Saint Heath Academyâs Vice Principal, Wilson.
This guy had the exact opposite effect in Leonâs life compared to his beloved donkey.
His donkey had been his childhood friend.
The old man was a pure annoyance.
It had been over half a year since Leon had last seen him, and he could only hope that the old dragon had learned what it meant to leave things well enough alone.
âLetâs just go,â Rosvisser sighed.
Resigned to their fate, the couple headed toward the administration building with their children in tow.
When they reached the Vice Principalâs office, Rosvisser knocked on the door.
âCome in.â
They pushed the door open and entered.
âVice Principal,â Rosvisser greeted.
Upon hearing her voice, Wilson immediately looked up. As soon as he saw the couple, he sprang from behind his desk.
âWell, well! Long time no see, itâs been far too long!â
The old dragon enthusiastically grabbed Leonâs hand. âI thought you werenât on the academy grounds.â
Leon forced a smile, thinking, *If youâd been just five minutes later, weâd have made a clean getaway!*
Wilson was about to continue, but then his attention was suddenly drawn to the little pink-haired girl in Leonâs arms.
Adjusting his monocle, he exclaimed, âIs this your youngest daughter?!â
â...Yes, Vice Principal,â Rosvisser replied.
âI didnât realize you two already had three daughters in just a few short years since your marriage!â
Wilson beamed as he looked from Aurora to Moon. âIn that case, please make sure your two little princesses attend the academy in the future. Noaâs performance is nothing short of extraordinary, so Iâm sure her sisters will be just as talented.â
Rosvisser smiled wryly. âWell... weâll see, Vice Principal. Theyâre not quite of school age yet.â
Quick to change the subject before Wilson could seize the opportunity, the Dragon Queen said, âCome on, Moon, say hello to Vice Principal Wilson.â
âHello, Grandpa Wilson~â Moon said sweetly.
âHello, hello, little princess,â Wilson responded with a grin.
Leon, seeing the perfect opportunity for some mischief, looked down at Aurora in his arms, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
âHey, Aurora, would you like to say hello to Grandpa Wilson too?â
Aurora looked up at her father with her wide pink eyes. âOkay.â
Leonâs smile widened as he lifted her toward Wilson. âVice Principal, youâre welcome to hold her if youâd like.â
âReally, Leon? Thank you! Iâd be delighted!â
Wilson extended his hands toward the seemingly harmless little girl.
Aurora gazed innocently at the old man as he approached her, then, just as his hands were about to reach herâ
*Uppercut!*
Rosvisser gasped, quickly covering Moonâs eyes.
Wilsonâs monocle flew through the air in a graceful arc before landing on the floor.
âAre you alright, Vice Principal?!â Leon asked, feigning concern.
âIâm... Iâm fine...â
âSheâs just a child playing aroundâplease donât take it personally, Vice Principal,â Leon explained.
âOh, not at all, not at all.â
Wilson picked up his monocle, blew the dust off it, and put it back on. âJudging by her strength, your little princess is a natural when it comes to physical combat. Sheâll certainly grow into a formidable martial artist.â
*And youâll be the perfect punching bag,* Leon thought sarcastically.
Rosvisser shot a knowing look at her husband. She knew he had set this up on purpose.
But Auroraâs uppercut had at least avenged them for all those times Wilson had caused them public embarrassment.
After this little episode, Wilson got to the actual reason for their meeting.
âIn truth, it wasnât me who asked for you.â
Rosvisser raised an eyebrow. âThen who?â
âThe Headmistress.â
âHeadmistress Angelina Olet is back?â Rosvisser asked, surprised.@@novelbin@@
It had been quite a while since Headmistress Olet had been at the academy.
Long enough for Rosvisser to start suspecting that the academy was slowly becoming Wilsonâs domain.
âYes. The Headmistress returned yesterday, and she might even attend this yearâs entrance ceremony.â
Wilson continued, âBut thatâs not why weâre meeting today. Please, follow me. Iâll take you to see Headmistress Olet.â
âAlright.â
Wilson led the way, and the couple followed behind him.
Leon didnât know much about Angelina Olet. He had heard Wilson mention her once long ago, and heâd read about her briefly in *A History of Dragons*.
Leon didnât have any particular expectations about the Headmistress, just hoping that she wasnât as obsessed with shipping couples as the Vice Principal was.
When they reached the Headmistressâs office, Wilson knocked three times, respectfully saying,
âHeadmistress Olet, the Melkvey couple has arrived.â
âMm, please come in.â
The Vice Principal opened the door and ushered the couple inside.
âThank you, Wilson.â
Leon looked toward the source of the voice.
Behind the desk sat an elderly woman, whose appearance resembled that of Rosvisserâs grandmother.
However, one could never judge a dragonâs true age based on their looks, so Leon couldnât guess how many centuriesâor millenniaâthe Headmistress had lived.
She sat there with a serene smile, exuding a sense of maturity and dignity.
âNo trouble at all, Headmistress.â
For once, Wilson seemed to be behaving respectfully. He nodded slightly, then said, âIâll leave you to talkâI have some other matters to attend to.â
âThank you, Wilson.â
After Wilson left, Headmistress Olet turned her gaze to Leon and Rosvisser, gesturing for them to sit. âPlease, take a seat.â
Rosvisser nodded and sat down with Leon in front of the desk.
The Headmistress looked at the two little dragon girls and smiled warmly. âWhat lovely daughters you have. Are they all live-born dragons?â
âYes, Headmistress,â Rosvisser replied.
âHmm, it seems youâre not exactly a traditional dragon family.â
*Weâre not even a full dragon family,* Leon thought wryly.
After a bit of light conversation, Rosvisser asked, âHeadmistress, itâs been so long since we last heard from you. What have you been up to?â
âBefore I answer that, Iâd like to show you something.â
With that, Olet took out an elegant small box from the drawer of her desk.
She placed the box in front of Rosvisser and gently opened it.
Inside was a beautiful necklace, with a milky-white crystal pendant that sparkled brilliantly in the sunlight.
âThis was given to me by your grandmother, Veronica Melkvey, to pass on to you. Consider it a belated wedding gift.â
