Vol. 3 Ch. 17
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
"I hope dinner is to your taste, Helena," Leon said as the family of five, along with their guest for the day, sat around the dinner table.
The meal was plentiful, with extra dishes added to welcome Noa home and show their hospitality to Helena.
Helena was very polite, always speaking respectfully and behaving with grace and poise, making her seem both genuine and refined.
At such a young age, Helenaâs social skills were impressive, which left the family in awe.
Earlier, Rosvisser had already noticed that Helena likely wasnât from an ordinary noble family.
However, she didnât ask Helena about her background or her familyâs status. It was, after all, Noaâs first time bringing a classmate home for the weekend. The focus should be on warmth and hospitality, not status or lineage.
"Iâve always envied Noa," Helena said. "Not only does she have such amazing parents, but also two adorable sisters."
Helena continued, "Iâm from a single-parent cocoon-born family, where my mom raised me by herself, so I donât have any siblings. Growing up alone can be a bit lonely sometimes."
Most traditional dragon families were cocoon-born, meaning they had either just a father or a mother.
While siblings might exist, they were often only distant relatives.
Sisters like **Rosvisser** and **Yisha**, who shared the same parents, were rare.
The fact that Noa and Helena had become friends suggested that the two of them shared similar views, especially when it came to the ideas of "family" and "loved ones."
Leon and Rosvisser knew just how much Noa cherished her family.
And if Helena, like Noa, highly valued family, it made sense for her to envy Noaâs large, close-knit family.
Who wouldnât want a constant companion during their childhood?
"No problem, Helena. If you like being around people, you can come to my house anytime," Noa offered.
"Really, Noa?"
"Yes, really."
"Thatâs wonderful~ Thank you, Noa!"
Helena turned and hugged Noaâs shoulders, nuzzling her cheek gently.
Because Helena was a bit older than Noa, she was also taller, making the hug look more like a big sister hugging a younger one.
And judging by Noaâs reaction, she didnât seem to mind Helenaâs affection.
It was worth noting that Noa wasnât usually fond of physical contact.
Leon remembered when they first met, Noa had explicitly said he wasnât allowed to touch her without her permission.
Leon and Rosvisser exchanged a glance, quickly guessing why their daughter accepted Helenaâs embrace.
Firstly, the fact that Helena was a friend Noa felt comfortable bringing home meant their relationship had to be close enough for a hug to be natural.
Secondly, it was related to Noa herself.
She had matured faster than most dragon children and had been looking after Moon from a very young age.
Even after Aurora was born, it was Noa who took on a lot of the caregiving duties.
Plus, the recent crisis with the spatial rift had forced Noa to grow up even more in just six difficult months.
But such premature maturity often leads to emotional exhaustion and weariness.
Noa rarely opened up about her feelings, even with Leon and Rosvisser, who didnât fully understand their daughterâs inner world.
This was a delicate dynamic within their familyâsometimes even with the people closest to you, itâs hard to share your worries and troubles.
Helena, on the other hand, was different.
As Noaâs friend, she held a role outside the family but could maintain an intimate connection.
Being a few years older, Helena could easily act as an older sister to Noa.
Even though this dynamic may never have been openly discussed, Noa likely sought a sense of "little sister" comfort and emotional support from Helena, even if subconsciously.
Resting in Helenaâs embrace allowed Noa to let her guard down and relax, if only for a moment.
This is the importance of friendship.
The couple silently recognized this, exchanging a smile of relief.
Their eyes met, and they decided to discuss Noaâs friend later.
For now, dinner was the priority!
"Sister."
A soft, sweet voice came from one side of the table, filled with a hint of helplessness.
Both Leon and Rosvisser, along with Aurora, turned toward the voice.
They saw Moon sitting there, holding her knife and fork, looking at Noa with big, sad eyes. "Sister, I canât cut my steak. Can you help me?"
Aurora blinked her pretty pink eyes in disbelief, thinking to herself:
Second Sister, a year ago, you could split steel with your bare hands. Now you canât cut a steak?
Are you getting weaker with age or something?
Noa was also a bit surprised. She remembered that Moon hadnât needed help with things like cutting steak or sitting properly at the table for a long time.
But Noa didnât think too much of it. Since her little sister was asking, she would always do her best to help.
Noa scooted over to Moonâs side, holding her small hands and helping her cut the steak, piece by piece.
"Thank you, Sister. Youâre the best! Muuuua~"
Taking advantage of Noa leaning in to help her, Moon gave her a big kiss on the cheek.
Noaâs face instantly turned bright red.
What was up with this little rascal today?
It had been ages since Moon kissed her like that, and now, out of the blue, she did it, leaving Noa blushing from ear to ear.
As the saying goes, a kiss between a middle-aged couple can lead to sweet dreams for days.
So what happens when sisters kiss? Would it cause nightmares?
Noa pinched Moonâs nose lightly, "Eat your food properly."
Moon replied sweetly, "Okay, Sister~"
Aurora, listening from the side, was absolutely covered in goosebumps.
In her short life of just over a year, Aurora had always seen her second sister as innocent, adorable, and carefreeâthe undisputed mascot of the Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
But what was this version of Moon?
Not being able to cut a steak was one thing, but speaking in such a sugary, artificial tone? Aurora had outgrown that phase ages ago!
Whoever you are, get off my sister right now!
"You girls seem really close," Helena commented.
"Ah, Moonâs always beenâ"
"Of course! My sister and I are super close!" Moon interrupted cheerfully.
Her bubbly voice snapped Aurora out of her thoughts.
Aurora glanced at Noaâs classmate and then back at her second sister, who was basking in Noaâs attention.
Ohhh~
Aurora suddenly understood.
It wasnât that Moon had regressed or been possessed.
She was simply showing off!
Now, let the third princess of the Silver Dragon Clan, and the goddess of mischief, Aurora "Little Light" Melkvey, give you an exclusive peek into the mind of a sister-obsessed dragon:
"Sister, feed me something! Helena wonât get jealous, right?"
"But the food Sister feeds me is the best~"
"My sister loves me the most! Helena, youâre just friends with her, okay?"
"At most, you two can hug, but I can kiss Sister all I want~"
"Sisterâs cheeks are so soft and smooth, I could kiss her forever~"
"My favorite thingâ"
"What are you smirking about?"
Leonâs hand gently patted the top of Auroraâs head.@@novelbin@@
Aurora looked up at her dadâs big hand, blinking. "Nothing, Daddy. The food you and Mommy made is just so delicious, I canât help but smile."
"Youâre smiling because of the food?"
"Yes, Daddy," Aurora replied, completely serious.
Leon chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Keep eating."
"Yes, sir~"
See? Aurora thought. This weekend was definitely going to be entertaining.
She could already feel itâher second sister had more tricks up her sleeve, and Aurora couldnât wait to see what would happen next!
