Vol. 3 Ch. 26
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
The peaceful night was shattered by fire and chaos.
The Red Dragon Clanâs guards were the first to move, rushing to intercept the suddenly appearing enemy.
âIs... is that a Dragon King? Or something else entirely?â one guard asked, staring at the massive figure before them.
The reason for such confusion was simpleâthe creature attacking the Red Dragon Sanctuary looked bizarre beyond belief.
It displayed traits of multiple S-rank or even SS-rank dangerous beastsâ
Steel Mammoth, Armored War Rhino, Lava Three-Headed Serpent, and more.
These were just the most obvious features, visible at first glance. The rest of its body was so grotesquely complex that it defied identification.
But the creatureâs head was unmistakable, and it was the reason the first guard thought of it as a Dragon King.
It had the head of a dragon.
A massive, dark-red dragon head, as if glued onto this patchwork body.
Those fearsome dragon eyes glared down at the ground, and with each step, fire spread around its feet.
âItâs... Itâs the Crimson Flame Dragon Kingâs head!â
Another guard recognized it immediately.
âThe Crimson Flame Dragon King? But wasnât he slain by Prince Leon a long time ago? How could heââ
Boom!
Before they could finish expressing their disbelief, the newly "reborn" Konstantin launched his attack.
With the Steel Mammothâs enormous body, even a simple stomp caused the earth to tremble.
The guards, realizing the danger, quickly spread their wings, taking to the skies to face him from above.
They had already observed that this stitched-together monstrosity, while filled with dangerous beast characteristics, notably lacked wings.
This meant it couldnât fly.
Thus, attacking from the air was the best option.
The Red Dragon guards simultaneously unleashed their Dragon Flames upon Konstantin.
But even as fireballs rained down on its body, they caused no damage.
âItâs the Steel Mammothâs body, isnât it... Its defense is insane,â one of the guards muttered, wiping away cold sweat.
The Steel Mammoth was an SS-rank dangerous beast.
Even the Dragon Clan feared hunting such creatures lightly.
Its defense was on par with that of a Dragon King.
Even without consciously defending itself, Konstantin remained unfazed by the guards' attacks.
He continued his relentless march toward the Red Dragon Sanctuary.
It seemed the sanctuary was his true target tonight.
The guards continued their efforts to halt his progress, but it was all in vain.
More and more guards gathered, and the glow of Dragon Flames lit up the night sky.
Yet nothing could stop Konstantinâs advance.
Meanwhile, atop a distant hill, Scott stood beside a dragon, silently watching the scene unfold.
âI thought Mr. Nacho would be overseeing this battle again,â the dragon said.
âHe wonât be coming, Fehr.â
Scottâs voice carried a tone of smug satisfaction. âAnd he wonât be coming again. Ever.â
Fehr, the Iron-Winged Dragon King, had been the "hero" who stole a portion of Noahâs power during the expedition in the Far North.
Now, with Ravi and the other Dragon Kings dead, he had no choice but to step forward and engage with the Empireâs forces.
In Fehrâs mind, Nacho Salamander had been quite an interesting figureâ
Mostly because heâd often heard Ravi complain about him.
But now, the one doing the complaining was dead, and the one being complained about was nowhere to be found.
Ah, how things change, Fehr thought with a tinge of melancholy.
âIt seems Mr. Erlandy has great confidence in the reborn Konstantin, only sending me as a Dragon King to assist,â Fehr remarked.
âOf course. After all, this is the ultimate creation, forged by the Empireâs considerable effort.â
Scott narrowed his eyes as he watched the creature, set to burn everything in its path. âItâs also the final weapon designed specifically to hunt Leon Cosmod.â
âWith so many dangerous beast abilities and traits fused together, it must have taken immense effort.â
Fehr nodded. âBut I do have one concern.â
Scott turned to look at him. âWhat is it?â
âThe reborn Konstantin... Is he truly completely under the Empireâs control? Has he entirely lost his own will?â
Scott snorted in response. âOf course. What kind of will can a dead dragon have? Donât overthink it, Fehr. The Empireâs Royal Magicians are professionals.â
âIs that so? Then I feel reassured,â Fehr replied.
âAfter all, if that mad dragon could freely control his now-powerful body... heh, it wouldnât just be Leon Cosmod at risk. He could wipe out most of the living things on Samaelâs continent.â
Though Konstantin had been the first Dragon King to fall to Leonâs blade in the Empire and Dragon Clanâs âgrand plan,â no one ever doubted his viciousness or brutality.
He was the quintessential dragon, embodying all the traits of his race in their most extreme forms.
Now that he had returned from hell, he seemed even more fitting for his former temperament.
âNo rest, no surrender... Konstantin,â Fehr muttered, gazing out at the battlefield in the distance.
Outside the sanctuary, the battle was completely one-sided.
None of the guardsâ attacks could penetrate the body of Konstantin, now reinforced with the Steel Mammothâs form.
âWhat do we do... This thing is too terrifying.â
âOur attacks canât even scratch it... What are we supposed to do...â
â...â
Just as the guards were losing hope, a commanding voice rang out from behind them.
âEveryone, fall back.â
The guards turned to see Isha approaching with Leon and Rosvisser by her side.
âHer Majesty is finally stepping in... It seems this opponent is beyond our capabilities,â one of the guards remarked.
The guards cleared a path, allowing the trio to reach the center of the courtyard. A guard stepped forward to report.
âYour Majesty, after a brief exchange, we were unable to determine what species or class this creature belongs to. But what we can confirm is that the head... belongs to the Crimson Flame Dragon King, Konstantin.â
Ishaâs expression grew serious. âUnderstood. Gather the nearby clanspeople and lead them to the underground shelters. Make sure to assign extra protection to the three princesses. There must be no mistakes.â
âYes, Your Majesty!â
The guards swiftly began evacuating, guiding the clanspeople to safety.
In the vast courtyard, only Leon, Rosvisser, Isha, and the burning, vengeful monster remained.
âI swear Iâll never joke about Konstantinâs hell story again,â Leon muttered, staring at the enormous creature before him. âHeâs really won his revival match.â
âRevivals can happen in many ways... The question is, how did he manage to approach the Red Dragon Sanctuary without being noticed?â
Rosvisser asked, âWith such a massive body, every step he takes should cause tremors. Yet he suddenly appeared right outside the sanctuary. And from the way his body is structured, it doesnât seem like he can fly. Itâs almost as if... he just appeared out of thin air.â@@novelbin@@
âWell, maybe he just crawled out of his grave, so there wasnât any noiseââ
âRoar!!â
âAlright, alright! I really wonât joke about your hell story again! Calm down, calm down.â
Rosvisser spread her wings, assuming an attack stance.
âTime to get serious, Leon.â
âGot it.â
Leon stepped forward, extending his right hand. A brilliant blue light ignited in his palm.
A second later, the chirping of a thousand birds echoed through the night.
