Vol. 1 Ch. 73
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
After returning to the room, Leon found it eerily quiet inside. He tried softly calling out for Rosvitha, but there was no response.
âSheâs fallen asleep so quickly,â Leon muttered to himself as he gently closed the door. He took off his shoes in the hallway and silently walked to the bedside, then carefully climbed into bed.
However, the waterbed was just too lively. As soon as he placed his hand on it, the entire bed tilted towards his side. Rosvithaâs foot under the blanket inadvertently touched the back of his hand.
Leonâs heart skipped a beat. Rosvithaâs foot always seemed to stir up memories heâd rather forget. Swallowing nervously, Leon discreetly moved his hand away and slowly slid to the inner side of the waterbed.
Once he lay down, Leon breathed a sigh of relief. He covered himself with a corner of the blanket but still hesitated to fully burrow under it. If there were a dragon lying next to him, he wouldâve been roasted long ago. Would he still be as submissive as he was now?
Leon turned his head to look at Rosvitha. The female dragon was already sound asleep, her breathing steady, and her sleeping face peaceful and beautiful.
In truth, Leon enjoyed watching Rosvitha sleep. She was beautiful. Even as his sworn enemy, Leon couldnât help but acknowledge that fact. She was truly beautiful, like a person in a painting.
Especially on such silent nights, with a faint fragrance filling the room, the waterbed beneath her delicate body perfectly molding to her shape, and moonlight streaming in through the window, casting its glow upon her silver hair.
In this atmosphere of utmost serenity combined with her breathtaking beauty, even when seen at such close proximity, her flawless face showed no imperfections whatsoever.
For a moment, Leon found himself entranced.
Thenâ
Under the blanket covering Rosvithaâs chest, a faint purple light began to shimmer.
Leon sensed trouble brewing and quickly averted his gaze, simultaneously taking deep breaths to calm his nerves.
âHow does the saying go for the Three Honors and Three Shames of Dragon Slaying?â
âUh⦠â
âAs, as honoring treason as an honorâno, thatâs not right, as coveting beautyâno, thatâs not it either!â
He clenched the bedsheet tightly, forcing himself not to dwell on these jumbled thoughts. But once the dragon mark reacted, it was like a rolling stone down a mountain, impossible to stop.
Leon felt heat spreading throughout his body, making it impossible to find a comfortable position.
âUhh⦠mmm~~â
A vague whimper came from Rosvitha beside him. Presumably, she was also affected by the dragon markâs reaction.
Leon tightly shut his eyes, pretending nothing was amiss.
Rustlingâ@@novelbin@@
The sound of skin rubbing against the blanket, gently soothing Leonâs restless heart.
Unable to resist, he opened his eyes to sneak a glance at Rosvitha. He saw her slowly extending her arm from under the blanket, her chest rising and falling in a tantalizing rhythm.
And that faint purple glowâ¦
It turned out to be a small purple ambient light, about the size of a finger. Leon was petrified on the spot, completely dumbfounded.
Damn deceitful mother dragon, playing tricks on me again!
Rosvitha slowly opened her eyes, smiling at Leon. âHey.â
ââ¦Hey my foot! Whatâs the point of hiding a light bulb under the blanket?!â Leon exclaimed.
âIs it bothering you if I hide a light?â Rosvitha retorted, placing the small ambient light on the nearby bedside table. âI found it in the toy rack just now and thought it would be fun to tease you with. But judging by your reaction just nowâ¦â
She lowered her gaze, then looked back up at Leon, meeting his eyes. âYou felt something for me, didnât you?â
Leonâs gaze shifted away, and he turned his back to Rosvitha. âNo. Iâm going to sleep. Donât talk to me.â
âTsk.â Rosvitha pursed her lips, no longer teasing Leon.
After this little prank, the couple no longer felt as awkward as they did at the beginning. They both relaxed a bit. Rosvitha also turned to lie on her side, back to back with Leon.
However, she didnât pull the blanket too far over, leaving some for Leon to avoid him catching a cold in the middle of the night. What if he caught a cold and passed it onto their daughter?
With these thoughts in mind, Rosvitha slowly closed her eyes. Sleep quickly engulfed both of them.
Yet, just as Rosvitha was about to drift off, she suddenly felt something on her shoulder. She groggily swatted it away. âWhat⦠if you need something, just say it, donât touch me.â
A faint voice came from behind, âI didnât touch you.â
âWho tapped my shoulder?â Rosvitha turned her head to look.
The next momentâ
A startled scream, and the waterbed shook violently. Before Leon could react, he felt a surge of warmth and softness in his arms.
When he snapped out of it, Rosvitha had already curled up in his embrace, her hands tightly gripping his shoulders. Even her tail had emerged, wrapping around his arm. The softness of her chest pressed against Leonâs waist, her legs curled up, trembling in his arms.
Her delicate fragrance, mixed with the subtle scent of shower gel, filled Leonâs senses, intoxicating him. Her heartbeat quickened, and her body temperature rose significantly, indicating she had been frightened by something.
Rosvitha held on tightly, and with her sensual lingerie and their bodies perfectly fitting together, Leonâs heartbeat involuntarily sped up too.
But seeing Rosvitha in such a panic, Leon didnât have time to enjoy or tease. He quickly asked, âWhatâs wrong? Why are you so scared?â
âT-thereâs a spiderâ¦â
âA spider?â Leon followed her gaze.
Sure enough, there was a black, hairy spider on the pillow.
Leon remembered seeing a photo in the album today, where a young Rosvitha was scared and crying because of a spider.
Could it be that she still had a psychological shadow from that time?
âItâs okay, Iâll get rid of it for youâhey, hey, calm down!â
As soon as Leon lowered his head, he saw Rosvitha gathering intense dragon flames in her handâits magical purity seemed even higher than when they sparred.
âIâm going to kill it,â Rosvitha declared, as if facing a formidable enemy.
âHey, hey, hold on there, ancestor! This is a waterbed. If you unleash dragon flames, this room will turn into a sauna,â Leon quickly intervened, pressing down her wrist.
After a brief hesitation, Leon tried to comfort her by wrapping his arm around her shoulder and patting her back gently. âItâs okay, Iâll get rid of it now. Just calm down, okay? Donât be afraid.â
Carefully releasing Rosvitha, Leon crawled over, pinched the spider, then opened the window and tossed it out. However, as he touched the spider, Leon felt something strange. It didnât quite feel like the hairy texture of a spider⦠it was more like⦠rubber?
Wait, could this be another part of his sisterâs design?
The thought sent shivers down Leonâs spine. Without dwelling on it further, he quickly closed the window.
âAlright, itâs gone now,â Leon reassured her.
Rosvitha pursed her lips, still feeling a bit shaken. After hesitating for a moment, she coquettishly said, âIâll sleep on the inner side, and you sleep on the outer side.â
âNo problem, you can sleep wherever you want.â
âMmâ¦â
Rosvitha tucked her tail away and nestled back into the covers, still feeling a bit unsettled.
Leon also lay back down, this time fully burrowing himself under the covers.
He felt that Rosvitha might need someone closer to her right now. After lying for a while, Leon glanced at Rosvitha. She was staring straight at the ceiling, her eyes wide open.
She couldnât understand how there could be a spider here. Rosvitha had always been afraid of these little creatures, finding their hairy bodies, legs, and eyes terrifying, even the thought of them described in words sent shivers down her spine.
This psychological shadow couldnât be changed. Even with the long lifespan of the dragons, time wouldnât erase it.
Whenever Rosvitha was scared by spiders in the past, she would always go to Isabella for comfort. But now her sister wasnât here.
âIf youâre still scared, you can⦠hold my hand,â the man beside her said in a deep voice.
Rosvitha blinked slightly, then closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled.
âGive it here.â
Leon hesitated, âWhat?â
âYour hand.â
âOh, right, okay.â
There was a rustle under the blanket as Leon reached out his hand. Rosvitha also moved hers closer. But something seemed⦠off?
Leon lifted the blanket and raised his hand, teasing, âHow does holding just the pinky finger give you any sense of security?â
Rosvitha blushed slightly, âThen how should we holdââ
âSilly, like this.â
With that, Leon interlocked all five of his fingers with Rosvithaâs. Their fingers intertwined, and an instant sense of security flooded over them.
âHey? I feel like you guys havenât been rolling around hard enough these past few days. Youâve only managed to write this much.â
