Vol. 1 Ch. 94
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
More than half an hour later, Leon went to Rosvithaâs room. Just as Muen returned, he was helping to bring dishes from the kitchen.
Leon hurried over and took the plate from Muenâs hand. âGo wait for dinner, Muen. Iâll take it from here.â
âOkay, thanks, Dad.â
With a plate of sandwiches and several cups of milk in hand, Leon was about to leave the kitchen when he noticed a dish covered with a lid on the counter. He gestured towards it with his lips.
âDo I need to bring that up too?â
Rosvitha glanced over while washing her hands and replied, âNot for now. Just bring what you have.â
âAlright.â
As Leon brought the dishes to the table, Muen had already tied his bib and was ready to eat. âSandwich! Yay!â Muen cheered, holding up his fork.
Leon placed the sandwich in front of Muen. For himself and Rosvitha, breakfast consisted of simple milk and bread. Well, it was said to be simple, but it wasnât really that simple. Dragon milk was top-notch stuff.
Unlike humans who used regular cows for milk, they used Ironhide yaks. Those things were genuinely S-class dangerous species.
While for other races, hunting them was a challenge, an honor, a feat; for dragons, they were a source of delicious beef products.
The nutritional value of the milk produced by Ironhide yaks was several times that of ordinary milk. Thanks to this, Leonâs body was able to recover so quickly.
After Rosvitha finished washing her hands, she also came to the table. She took off her apron, rolled up her sleeves, and tidied her hair. âAlright, letâs eat.â
âDinner time!â Muen eagerly grabbed the sandwich and started cutting it with his knife.
The couple, with a silent understanding, pushed some side dishes towards Muenâs side of the table.
The young dragon girl, being quite young, naturally couldnât notice the subtle details between her parents, but she knew that as long as she ate heartily, her parents would be happy.
She ate her sandwich while poking at the side dishes on the table. Muen ate with such enthusiasm.
Despite her small size, the appetite of a young dragon was considerable. She hadnât reached the level of Rosvitha, who could go days without eating anything and be unaffected.
As they ate, Leon noticed that Muen had picked out all the purple cabbage from the side dishes and put it on an empty plate beside her. He didnât pay too much attention to it, but then he heard Rosvitha say, âYou shouldnât be picky, Muen.â@@novelbin@@
Muen paused in her eating, a bit of sandwich bread crumbs still clinging to her lips. She blinked her pretty big eyes. âMom, Muen doesnât like purple cabbage, so Muen doesnât want to eat it.â
âYouâre at an age where proper nutrition is important. If youâre picky, you wonât grow tall. Right, Leon?â Rosvitha said.
âHuh? Let her eat what she wantsâouch!â Leon yelped as Rosvitha kicked his shin under the table.
âWhat did you say? I didnât catch that,â Rosvitha said with a smile as bright as flowers.
Rubbing his leg quietly, Leon shot a glance at the dragoness. To avoid further entanglement, he said, âUm, Momâs right, Muen shouldnât be picky now. Balanced nutrition is important for a healthy body.â
After a pause, Leon added, âSis never picks at her food.â
âIs that so? Then Muen wonât be picky either! Itâs just purple cabbage, Muen isnât afraid!â
With that, the young dragon girl speared the purple cabbage with her fork, eyeing it as if it were a formidable foe, then swallowed it in one gulp.
She puffed up her chubby cheeks and tightly closed her mouth, as if afraid the purple cabbage might escape from within.
After a moment of hesitation, Muen finally managed to swallow that mouthful of purple cabbage.
Leon indeed had a knack for handling his youngest daughter. But more than anything, he doted on Muen. âAlright, one bite is enough, take it slow. Have some more sandwiches,â he said.
âThanks, Dad! Dadâs the best!â Muen exclaimed happily.
Rosvitha smiled faintly, then suddenly remembered something. âOh, I forgot, I still have a vegetable salad to bring out. Wait a moment.â With that, she got up and headed to the kitchen. When she returned, she was carrying a bowl of salad.
Leon recognized the large bowl containing the salad. Wasnât it the one he had seen covered with a plate in the kitchen earlier? But Rosvitha had just said it wasnât necessary to bring it out, and now she said she forgot.
Leon swallowed subtly, feeling an uneasy premonition creeping into his mind. He glanced sideways at Rosvitha.
Rosvitha rested her chin in her hand, nibbling on a slice of bread.
Noticing Leonâs gaze, she looked back at him. âWhat are you looking at? Eat your food.â
âOhâ¦â
âMuen, try the vegetable salad,â Rosvitha said.
âOkay!â Muen leaned forward and scooped a small portion of salad onto her plate. âWow, itâs carrots! We havenât had carrots at home in a long time!â
Muen speared the orange-red pieces from the plate and happily put them into her mouth. Carrots.
Leonâs eating motion suddenly froze. The impact of this word on him was no less than his master calling him by his full name.
Before Leon could react, Rosvitha spoke again, âMuen, your dad has been eyeing that bowl of vegetable salad. What should you do now?â
Muenâs antennae twitched slightly. âHelp Dad serve a portion!â
âOkay, then hurry up.â
âSure thing!â
Once again, the young dragon girl got up and scooped a portion of salad onto Leonâs plate. âFor Dad,â she said.
Leon looked down at the plate: salad dressing, cucumber, tomato, onion, and⦠carrot!!
It really was that thing!
Whatâs the difference between this and an SSS-class dangerous species?!
Leonâs hand holding the fork trembled slightly, and he unconsciously pulled his chair back a bit.
âWhatâs wrong, Leon? Why arenât you eating? Donât you like the salad Muen served you?â Rosvitha asked.
âUm⦠Dad doesnât like it?â Muen looked at him with a pitiful expression.
Leon pursed his lips and forced a smile. âNo, I like it. Dad definitely likes the salad Muen served. Dad will eat it right away.â
âYeah, Dad, eat up! Carrots are delicious!â
Damn it.
Why donât you take after your old man when it comes to not eating carrots?!
Leon thought angrily as he toyed with the salad on his plate with his fork.
He polished off all the side dishes except for the carrots, then pretended to be satisfied as he patted his stomach. âAh, it was truly delicious. Thank you, Muen!â
âIf itâs so delicious, why not finish everything?â Rosvitha squinted and smiled, gesturing towards the remaining carrot dices on Leonâs plate. âAre you being picky too?â
âI⦠Iâ¦â
âDad, you just told Muen that you shouldnât be picky and that nutrition should be balanced,â the young dragon girl chimed in, mimicking her mother.
âOtherwise, youâll be unhealthy. Dad, you always look so out of sorts, so you definitely canât be picky!â
âMuen is right, Leon. Your health is already not good, so you absolutely canât be picky,â Rosvitha spoke softly, as if she really cared about Leonâs healthâwell, she did indeed care.
âCome on, eat up. Donât make Muen worry about your health.â With that, she affectionately reached out her hand and gently covered Leonâs trembling hand.
âTaking care of your body is more important than anything.â
Finally, the dragoness mouthed the word âhusbandâ with her lips.
The taste of the carrot had rendered Leon unable to think straight. All he knew was that under the tacit cooperation of these mother and daughter, he had no choice but to eat the remaining carrots.
Fine!
He would eat it!
Would a top-tier dragon slayer be afraid of such a common vegetable?!
Eat! Just eat it! This humble mealâ¦
Whoever said those who fear carrots arenât heroes!
Leon speared the carrot dices and bravely stuffed them into his mouth.
In the moment when the carrot attacked his taste buds, Leon felt like he saw his deathâalthough he had no idea what his death would look like.
âOh~ Dad isnât picky, Dadâs so great~ Then Muen wants to eat another piece of purple cabbage~â What a good daughter, you understand how to accompany someone.
Rosvitha smiled faintly, picked up a whole carrot from the table, and took a gentle bite.
Crunchâ
Leon awkwardly turned his head to look.
He saw Rosvitha calmly chewing on that terrifying vegetable.
After noticing Leonâs gaze, she deliberately took another bite in front of him, chewing slowly in her mouth.
âWhy are you staring at me like that? Do you want to eat too? Here.â Rosvitha extended the carrot towards Leon.
Leon: Get this filthy thing away! Quickly!
Satisfied with Leonâs reaction, Rosvitha couldnât help but feel pleased.
Howeverâ¦
Do you think itâs over, dear Mr. Casmode? Our days are still long ahead of us~
