Chapter 6

Thirster 2467: 5.

Thirster 2467

It was with quick movement and Marilyn couldn't comprehend anything. After chaining him down, she sees his eyes slowly flutter open.

They all leave him in the box alone once again after dragging Dr. Harris dead body out. Some scientists mourned about her death but others didn't even made any sudden movements towards her body. Such as Dr. Sammis.

Marilyn walks closer to him, grabbing his hand that's ready to press the red button.

"Don't you dare." Marilyn snaps with gritted teeth. Dr. Sammis pulls away from her grip, pushing her back.

He presses the button and suddenly loud noises like engines started to echo the room. Thirster 2467 brings his gaze up above him, looking at the ceiling.

Suddenly the ceiling starts to split open and bright sunlight starts to shine through the expanding crack. The sunlight soon touches his body and the vampire screams in pain.

Marilyn yell at Dr. Sammis to stop. She can't handle watching smoke burn off his skin and his bare flesh becoming burnt in crisp.

Marilyn charges towards Dr. Sammis, slamming into him which prevents him from expanding the ceiling more. She clicks on the button to close it and it slowly does. Relief hushes her and abruptly, armed men attack her.

"Get her out of here until she has respect." Marilyn doesn't fight back but let's them take her out of the room. They toss her into the hallway, the men standing in front of the closed metal doors so she doesn't try to get in.

Marilyn huffs out in defeat, turning her heel and making her way down to her room.

~~~
Marilyn slowly pulls the thick covers off of her body and makes her way out of the warm embrace under them. She can't stop thinking about Thirster 2467 and it's driving her nuts.
The pain he is pulling through these past few days are painful for her to watch. How much she wants to hurt Dr. Sammis badly. She has lost her trust with him and now she's alone here because she lost everyone else's.
If the monster in that bright box in Area 75 isn't going to talk to her during the day with the scientists around him, maybe he'll speak during the night.
Marilyn pulls her hair into a high pony tail, slipping on a pair of jeans and putting on a t-shirt. After putting on her converse she slowly makes her way out of her bedroom. Slowly, she tip toes out the door without waking Lee up from any noise.
Marilyn knows from roaming around at night around Area 75 that there is no security inside. All of them are on duty outside the ground of Area 75 to watch unexpected visitors. Mostly graffiti artists who sneak at night to graffiti on government property.
The door buzzes to let her in where the vampires are held captive after scanning her ID. She passes all the creatures snarling and calling out on her, disturbing words. She keeps her head high and stares at the door ahead that she is trying to reach.
Eventually she walks in, silently shutting it behind her and turning around to the cart of glasses. She places them on and makes her way to the only lit box with Thirster 2467.
His head is hung low, staring down at the white tiles and drumming his fingers along the edge of the arm chair that he's strapped on.
Marilyn stares across from him, her breathing pace increasing. Fog appears on the glass because of how close she is to the glass wall and how cold it is. Goosebumps run along her body and she knew there shouldn't be no time wasted.
Marilyn clicks on the speaker button, her breathing echoing inside the box the vampire was in. His ears slowly rise, hearing the noises better than just faded breathing. Even though he killed the scientist yesterday, it did no help.
It helped his thirst but he was still weak and his hearing wasn't as good as before.
"Thirster 2467." Her voice echoes in the box. "It's Marilyn." She adds after pausing. He swallows, slowly bringing his gaze up to her. He frowns for a bit seeing that she's wearing glasses. He's feels as if it keeps her whole existence in disguise.
He doesn't respond when she stops talking but just stares at her. Marilyn purses her lips into a thin line, not knowing what to do for a second.
She presses the button again.
"I- um... I'm here for answers." She stops again when she sees him raise an eyebrow. "I was thinking you are a bit shy around everyone so maybe only me would be better." She bits her bottom lip at realizing how stupid she sounds.
She's talking to a vampire for crying out loud!
Thirster 2467 feels a bit enlightened around her so he chuckles at her. A grin tugs on Marilyn's lips when she sees him actually have an expression on his face.
"I'm not the bad guy here. No one here this room is." She adds and the monster looks around the box. No one else was in the room besides them two. She kind of gave him a comment.
He licks his lips, wondering if he should actually talk. Should he really talk to a pathetic human that is among the other who strapped him on the chair? The metal is clamped down on his arms so tightly but it's so weird why they don't clamp it down on his wrists but only near his elbows.
Maybe they can take his blood or cut him on his wrists, he thought.
He blinks several times towards Marilyn and she sighs, slowly making her way to the door. She feels a bit unsure at what she was doing but if she wanted him to talk, she will have to do what she has to do.
She opens the door and makes her way inside the cold box. She shuts it behind her and walks to the vampire. He didn't turn his head to her but he heard her coming his way.
It was just a whiff of her scent and blood beneath her skin to makes his scenes run wild. He stiffens in his seat and slowly runs his tongue over his fangs numerous of times when his mouth waters. How much he would love to taste her blood.
Marilyn bites the inside of her cheek and stops right in front of him. He can feel the heat of her skin radiate off her body and brush along his cold one.
"I'm here, up close. Is that better so we can talk?" Marilyn starts and he lifts his head up to look at her. He feels so small because she's standing and he's sitting. When he moves his legs, the chains rattle and Marilyn takes a step back afraid.
He smirks, staring up at her.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." He finally says. Marilyn's eyebrows shoot up in shock that he spoke.
"And he speaks." She replies going back to where she was, closer to him. He tilts his head to the side and smiles.
"It would suck if I was mute wouldn't it? I wouldn't be able to handle myself." Marilyn realizes that his voice has a thick accent which seems faded too. Like it's there but isn't at the same time. Sounds European but she isn't sure from where.
"I guess you are right." Marilyn stops when she looks down at his arms. On his hands, there's dark open wound blisters from when they burned him. His arms have them too and along his neck. Somehow his face doesn't but that's good. Who would want to see an injured attractive face?
Marilyn slowly brings her fingers on his right hand, brushing along the blisters. He froze still, feeling her warmth on his injured hand. Marilyn would never know that she would ever touch a vampire and Thirster 2467 would never know that she would dare to touch a monster.
"Why did they strap me down on this chair?" He asks her and she pulls away from him but before she fully can, he had the time to grab her wrist. Marilyn's heart starts to race at him gripping her so tightly.
"Because you killed a scientist."
"I was hungry." He laughs, Marilyn getting goosebumps at seeing the sight of his fangs in his mouth. They are so long and sharp, he can quickly bite her arm he is gripping on without hesitation. "You would have done the same if you were starving."
"No I would have not-"
"Feeling your veins itching and on fire, your jaw in so much pain. Your body screaming and crying for blood that you can't have." He softly says, running his hand up then down Marilyn arm. Her hair rises along her skin. "So I think I don't deserve being strapped here like a fucking animal." When he curses, it wasn't rough. It was soft like he's murmuring it, in his wonderful accent voice.
He slowly trails his hand off her arm and down at her thigh, feeling the fabric of her jeans. For some reason, butterflies are in Marilyn's stomach. He grabs her waist, squeezing it. Marilyn's breath hitches in her throat when he runs his hand under her shirt, feeling the bare of her skin.
Marilyn wants to pull away but can't. Thirster 2467 is gripping on her, feeling the warmth of her skin.
"You're so cold." Marilyn's shaky voice let's out and he sighs.
"You're so warm." He mutters and Marilyn snaps out of it. She tries to get away from his touch but he forcefully brings her down to him.
So she doesn't fall on top of him, she grabs his arms that are on the arm chairs for support. Marilyn gasps at how close she is to his face that his eyes seem so bright through the lenses.
Thirster 2467 stares at her, trying to see through the lenses. They both are breathing deeply and he can hear her blood quickly pumping through her body. He wants to rip her in shreds, drink her blood and kill her but for some reason he can't.
"Take me off of this chair." He asks her and she doesn't realize that she's shaking.
"I can't." She whispers back and he sighs, leaning back in his seat.
"Why not?" Marilyn finally breaks loose and moves away from him, taking a step back.
"I don't trust you." Thirster 2467 grins, leaning back in the chair.
"Trust is a very strong word, be smart who you trust." Marilyn crosses her arms across her chest.
"And trusting a vampire should be the right choice?"
"Ouch that hurts. Especially talking to one." Marilyn walks back and forth in front of him, feeling stressed out. "But it seems like you don't trust them." She turns towards him furrowing her eyebrows.
"Who? The scientists?" He nods and she shakes her head.
"It's a long story but yeah now I'm losing my trust with them."
"And the young girl is left alone." Marilyn scoffs at his comment and takes a step closer to him.
"I'm not young."
"Oh really? How old are you?"
"How old are you?"
"I asked first." She rolls her eyes and brings her gaze back to him.
"Twenty-six."
"Twenty-eight." She lifts as eyebrow and he smiles.
"What's your name?"
"Well I'm not going to go into deeper details about my life."
"Why not."
"Because you don't trust me." Marilyn bites the bottom of her lip.
"I'm not saying that I don't like you I just don't like your kind."
"And I shouldn't like yours because you have me locked in here."
"But your kind killed my whole family." He gives me a shocked look and I let out a shaky sigh, trying not to revision the memories.
"How."
"Like you said you won't tell me things I won't tell you things." He leans his head against his palm and closes his eyes.
"Very well then you are wasting your time in here with me." Marilyn stares at him with her mouth wide open. Did he really just say that?
"Fine but don't think this is the last time you will see me. I'll be back." She stomps out of the box and locks the door before walking out.
Before leaving the whole room itself, she turns to see him once more. He was staring right at her before hesitating and looking away.
