Chapter 10

The Packs Meeting Hall

Alpha Anders's pov

I almost lost it! When I came back to the apartment and Kyle wasn't there the worst case scenario popped into my mind and Mads took control, I almost shifted on the spot. And the few minutes that went by without me knowing where he was felt like years, it was the most painful minutes of my life. Losing my parents hurt, but the pain of losing Kyle would destroy me, I know that for sure now. And when one of my men said they had picked up his scent outside his sisters room, I damn near lost it again. When I finally had him back in my arms I felt such a relief, I almost toppled over with the emotional overload.

When he told me he didn't have the code I could have kicked myself, of course he didn't. But with all the changes that have happened over such a short time it completely slipped my mind.

Now here we are, Kyle is at my side and we are heading to the packs meeting hall where everyone is waiting to meet their Luna, and take a vote on whether or not we will welcome Leila to the pack as well. I have a firm grip on Kyles hand, enjoying the tingles that are shooting between our hands, and I could have sworn I heard Kyle purr a little so he must enjoy it as well.

As we enter the meeting hall the deafening noise of hundreds of people talking and children playing dies down and everyone turns to watch us walk in and up to the stage located on the other end of the hall. As we pass by our people they bow their heads and greets us, "Alpha, Luna". I feel so proud as I glance at my beautiful mate, he nods and greets people especially taking care to smile at the children who are in awe of meeting the Luna. He is perfect for the role he will have in the pack, I just know it.

As we get on stage I see that Carl and Axel are already up there waiting, they will take their place on our flanks.

I heard about what happened with Axel today, and I need to talk to him and find out what the hell is going on. It is not like him to lose control of his wolf, that man is a rock. Something must have happened while he was training with Alpha Gregory, and I need to know what that was. I also need to talk to him about the way he treated Leila, I know he has a problem with tigers but the way he was with her went beyond rude, he was hateful. I won't and can't force him to get along with her, but he needs to be at least civil. But that's a problem for after the meeting.

I step up and everyone's eyes are on me, "Moonstone Pack! I know word has already gotten out about the good news, but we are here because I want to confirm that I have met my mate. And I want to introduce you all to Kyle, your Luna." The whole pack erupts in cheers and clapping. I motion for Kyle to step up to, he takes his place next to me, and I grab hold of him and pull him flush against my body. Leaning down I plant my lips on his, as the tingles come back in full force I can't resist deepening the kiss and Kyle winds his arms around me kissing me back with equal fervor. Now the pack practically explodes with howls and whistling. As we pull apart I smile at him, he has a charming blush on his face and gives me a shy smile back.

I put up a hand and the crowd quiets down. "The Luna is, as you must all know by now, a tigershifter. I know it is quite unusual, possibly unheard of, for a wolf to be mated to a tiger. I know we are considered to be natural enemies, but as we all know the Goddess do not make mistakes and there is a reason behind this matchup and it is not up to us to question it. I could not be happier with the mate chosen for me, and I know you will all come to love him as I do.

"He does however have a sister, and I will now ask all of you to tell me if you have a problem with her also joining our pack."

Murmurs run through the pack at this, and some raise their voice to give their opinion. "We have no problem with the Luna, but the sister has already proved herself to be a troublemaker who likes to fight, is it safe to let her join?" More people chime in "are our pups safe with a tiger in our midst?" I hear her scoff at that, so I figure she might as well be allowed to defend herself.

"Leila, would you like to address their concerns?" I ask her as I motion her to take center stage.

She just smiles sweetly and confidently walks forward and directly addresses the pack.

"I get that you might have some reservations about having me here, and I will be the first to admit that I can be a hothead and I will not back down from a fight. However, I will never be a threat to children, I do not harm those who cannot fight back. Yes, tigers tend to have short tempers, but we are not mindless animals, we have feelings and a conscience just like you. If anyone here challenges me, I will fight, but I will not harm anyone not asking for it." That last one was kinda unnecessary, but the pack seemed to like what she had to say, and most nodded their head at her words.

So I decide to speak once again, "So what do you say? Do we have two new pack members?" I let out a breath of relief as the pack seemed to mostly agree, and those who didn't was not voicing their opinion meaning they were going to learn to live with it.

"It's decided, Kyle, Leila, step forward and receive the pack mark." Unlike a mating mark, a pack mark is shallow and given on the wrist. And this mark can be broken if a member chooses to leave the pack, they both step forward an offer their arms. I grab Kyles wrist and let my canines descend, I sink them lightly into his wrist. Then I move on to Leila and repeat the proses, neither one bats an eye. And the second my teeth sink in new voices join the line. As we mate and mark each other me and Kyle will form our own mate line, meaning we will share feelings as well as thoughts, but this will do till then. At least I will have a way to contact him if I lose him from sight, and will hopefully avoid a repeat of today incident.

"Thank you all for coming to the meeting, and thank you for the way you have greeted your Luna, I'm sure he is as happy to be a part of this pack as we are to have him here."

With that most of the pack started to file out of the building. And I turned to the people on stage with me, "I suggest we celebrate your acceptance into the pack with a trip to the lake." It was a warm day and, it would be really nice to cool down and relax now that some of the tension had left my shoulders.

Kyle and Leila grinned like crazy and agreed right away. So Kyle likes to swim, there's something to store for later. Carl also agreed with a "just let me ask Julie," she was talking to some of her best friends in the pack, so when Carl suggested the lake her friends somehow got invited to. The more the merrier I guess. I then turned to Axel, he looked at Leila and made a strangled noise almost like a wine, but just scoffed "no, thank you, it's not the company I would prefer to enjoy the day with." Man, he really is an asshole to her, what the hell has crawled up his ass? I can't accept this, and starting now I won't. "Tough luck, you're going! You love the lake, and you need to get to know our new members." He looked really annoyed, but it's not like he can say no to a direct order from his Alpha, so he reluctantly agreed.

He just jumped off stage and went over to Julie and her friends, the girls in the group loved Axel, and I know for a fact that he knows most of them on a personal level, if you catch my drift? Hell, I've walked in on that guy fucking more times than I would like to remember. He slung his arm over the shoulder of a blonde, she giggled and kissed his cheek and they walked out together. I can't wait for him to meet his mate and settle down, he needs to calm down a little, I'm not sure the females in the pack can take much more heartache because of him. He doesn't seem to do it on purpose, but they keep falling for him only to be dumped a few days later.

We go back to the house to change into bathing suits and pack towels and food. Kyle had to borrow clothes from me, not that I minded, and Leila borrowed from one of the girls roughly her size.

Then some of us got into cars taking the stuff we packed, while the rest just shifted and ran there. I drove with Kyle in the passenger seat and Leila and Lewis sat in the back, as I glimpsed back there I saw some interesting looks being exchanged between them, I wonder if somethings going on there? Lewis is a good guy, a bit of a hothead, but he is an excellent warrior and he's very meticulous no matter the task I give him. I'm sure they could have some fun together.

But I want to focus my attention on my gorgeous mate, he's sitting next to me and seem quite content.

When we arrive at the lake we both get out of the car and I find a blanket for us to share, I pull him down to me and I make sure he sits between my legs leaning his back on my body.

"I'm so happy you're part of the pack now, everyone loves you already," I kiss his temple and pull him closer to my body.

"To be honest I'm a little surprised at how easily the pack accepted me."

"I'm not. Respect for the Luna is important to wolves, they know that me finally finding you means that I will become a better and stronger Alpha. So, of course, they welcomed you with open arms."

Right then Leila came walking up to us with a happy smile on her face. I have to admit that I like the girl, she seems like a genuinely happy and nice person.

"Hey Kyle, did you notice the cliff over there?" She asks, seeming pretty excited. She diverts Kyles attention to the cliff the more daring people likes to jump from.

Kyle jumps out of my arms, "let's go!"

I feel slightly worried at his sudden move, "where are you off to?"

Leila gives me really charming smile and grabs a hold of Kyles elbow, "me and Kyle love cliff jumping, and that cliff is perfect!" I'm just gonna borrow him for a little while, she says and drags Kyle away.

I know he won't get hurt, the cliff is not that high and they are both fast healers anyways, but I can't help but worry as I watch them climb up.

I get up an move towards the water as I see them go barreling over the edge holding hands. They hit the water and resurface a little while later, but there's a major difference, they have both shifted.

I stand rooted, watching his beautiful tiger form, this is my first time seeing it. The two tigers play and splash around for a while as the people on shore watch them smiling, they sure know how to enjoy themselves.

They start to head back to land, and as they get out of the water my eyes lock with my mate. His eyes look very different in this form, the look is the same as always. He is a powerful and awe-inspiring sight. Suddenly they both shake their fur and the cold water hitting me brings me back to the present.

Soon they start to shift back and I stare at his perfect body, knowing that my body is reacting in a very visible way, but that problem is quickly solved when Mads growls in my head, "people are staring at our naked mate!" And I quickly get a towel and wrap him up. As a shifter I have no problem with nudity, but this is my unmated and unmarked mate, and that sight is for my eyes only.

I pull him back to the car and grab a spare shirt and shorts that he slips on.

"I'm sorry about your trunks, my tiger gets eager near water."

"That's no problem, it gave me a perfect chance to ogle at your naked body," his eyes shows arousal at the thought. But his words are playful.

"I didn't know you were that much of a perv, I need to be careful with you."

"No doubt there baby, you might want to keep your eyes on me, there's no telling what I might do." I pull him against me and capture his lips, I make sure to pull away before it gets too heated though, I don't want to end up taking him in the woods with people listening.

We spend the rest of the night talking and eating, and I feel completely at ease. If I were to pick a word to describe what I'm feeling right now I think I would go with bliss.

The night gets a little interesting as Leila gets up and storms over to Axel and have some heated words. As she storms angrily off into the woods Kyle yells after her asking if she's alright and if she wants him to come. But she tells Kyle not to, so I decide to have a talk with Axel.

I make sure that my Alpha power seeps into my words, "what was that?" I'm pissed, "I told you to get to know her, I told her to treat her better. Was that treating her better? What the hell is going on? This is not you Axel!" He bows his head, but says nothing, so Kyle chimes in.

"Leila is a nice person unlike you, you dick! She never did anything to be treated this way! I am trying my best to get to know everyone in this pack and be nice while doing it, but you are making me want to shift and tear your head off!" Fuck, Kyle is hot when he's angry.

"I apologize Luna, I will apologize the next time I see her." He bows his head again, but I doubt he actually means it.

We both walk away, but I can't help but wonder whats going on. What can make a normally nice guy act this way, it has to be more than I first thought. But what is going on?

Maybe an hour later one of the warriors guarding the border mindlinks me, "Alpha, there have been sighting of rogues in the woods, apparently the Lunas sister is injured."

And there goes the rest of the night to shit!

Kyle and Leila are official members of the Moonstone Pack, hurray for that.

This chapter was as fluffy as a marshmallow, and now we have a real couple emerging.

Let's hope Leilas okay.
