Qi Lei squinted at Gu Lingsha. “Looks like it’s work then. Let’s talk about it tomorrow. I don’t want to talk about work now.”

As he was about to enter through the door, Gu Lingsha reached out to stop him. “Hold on! Okay, I’ll keep it short then. You should know how important the South River Project No. 1 is to Qi Kai. Fuhua has taken away the materials that I’ve negotiated for with Hua Heng. When I went over, I found out that Fuhua’s new CEO is actually Xi Xiaye! Have you known about this for a while now?”

Upon hearing that, Qi Lei’s gaze darkened. He stared at her fair hands that gripped his sleeves and did not answer her question. She met his gaze and took in all of his hostility, then she let go of him.

“The project you have doesn’t seem to have anything to do with me. In fact, we’re working in the same field. Shouldn’t you be having ears everywhere?” Qi Lei’s intentions were clear.

“Now isn’t the time to be looking into these things. The people from the government are going to be coming over for inspection of the project in the early stages soon. Right now, our materials can only last us till the day after tomorrow at most. Initially, I settled it with Hua Heng, so the materials should have been here by now. I think you wouldn’t want to see Qi Kai fall into such a predicament either, would you?”

“I don’t think I can help you with this one. After all, I’m not in charge of the materials!” Qi Lei answered calmly.

“So, you’re planning to get me to talk to Xi Xiaye and tell her to give you the materials?”

When Gu Lingsha heard his appeal, her expression froze.

He quickly walked up and noticed that the two decorative vases on the rack by the porch had already shattered to pieces all over the floor.

Qu Lei looked calmly at the mess before him, then slowly took off his coat before hurling it to the ground. “Tidy up a little, then prepare dinner,” he said bitterly and went upstairs.

Yang Sheng could not help but call out softly, “Master Qi...”

“Call me again when dinner’s ready. I’m sure that I’ll be able to defeat that Swift Snowy on the ranks. Only I have the right to be your husband!” Qi Lei snapped before he seemed to trudge upstairs, full of fighting spirit!
