“My dear, your cooking has improved.” Mu Yuchen was generous with his compliments as he shot her a passionate glance.

Xi Xiaye raised her head and looked into his eyes. “It’s so rare for you to compliment me. Mr. Mu, do you realize that the spark between us has gone away even though we haven’t been married for that long yet?”

“Spark? Aren’t you satisfied?” He gave her a confused look. Did it not always end with her begging him to stop every time?

Xi Xiaye blushed. “I don’t mean that. I’m saying that we’ve been so busy and have so much to worry about that we haven’t been able to relax together.”

“I want to have a peaceful, quiet life too, but some people just can’t leave me be. Hang in there and we’ll be able to enjoy ourselves soon, alright?” He suddenly reached for her hair beside her ear as he spoke softly.

Xi Xiaye nodded as she looked into his eyes. Suddenly, she took out a card and handed it to Mu Yuchen. “This is the money I got from selling the materials. I subtracted the amount of the original cost and the remainder is inside. The PIN number is the last six numbers of the card. Qi Lei is going to report to you about his progress soon, isn’t he? Give this to him.”

Xi Xiaye handed him the card. “I don’t know what else I can do, so I’m just going to do my best.”

He put down his bowl and picked up the card. “He’d be very grateful for your help. You don’t really have to do anything since things are going well for him. While it’s great that you took your sweet revenge, you have to be careful. Gu Lingsha might be plotting something against you.”

“I’m not silly. I won’t just let her do anything she wants. Enough about me. Tell me how was it with Gu Qiwu today.” Naturally, Xi Xiaye knew he had gone to meet with Gu Qiwu earlier that day.

However, he then looked at her with an odd expression, not seeming very happy.

There’s nothing you can do to make a person stay if that person is determined to leave. Aunt was really silly. “I feel that Aunt’s depression was mostly caused by him. Mr. Mu, I won’t wait for you like a fool if you do this to me in the future. Instead, I’d marry someone else and have lots of children to get back at you!” Xi Xiaye took a deep breath and glared at him.

Mu Yuchen’s eyes darkened as his tone turned dominant and cold. “Why do you mix our relationship into this? No one would dare to marry you if I don’t allow it! Unless he thinks he’s lived long enough! Don’t joke about something like this again, or else I have many ways to punish you!” Agitated, he put his chopsticks down and left the table to go upstairs.

Xi Xiaye was stunned by what just happened. It was her first time seeing him storming off like this. Then, she instantly realized she stepped on his forbidden zone. He was actually an insecure person, and her words had definitely hurt him.

Xi Xiaye clenched her chopsticks and lowered her head after she realized she had not been sensitive and considerate about his feelings. Having lost her appetite after he left, she cleaned up the dishes and went upstairs.

She was a good child that knew to look back on her mistake and make amends. Knowing that he was in the study room since the lights were switched on, after a moment’s hesitation, she grabbed a glass of water and went into the room. She slowly pushed the door and poked her head inside to see the man sitting in front of the table while staring at the computer screen.

Xi Xiaye knocked on the door gently, but he did not give any reaction. He was obviously still angry.

She was a little disheartened when he did not give her any reaction, but she still took a deep breath and went inside. Carefully putting the glass of water beside him, she observed him for a little while before asking, “Mr. Mu...are you angry?”

Mu Yuchen ignored her and continued to glue his eyes to the screen.

Xi Xiaye’s heart sank when he did not reply. “I’m sorry. I know...I overdid it. Please don’t be angry at me, please?”

There was still no reaction from him.

She grabbed his arm and shook him a little. “I’m not talking about you, and I definitely don’t mean it. Don’t be angry at me...please...”

Silence.

“I know I’m wrong!”

There was still no reply!

“My period just stopped,” she forced herself to say as she blushed.

“Huh?” The man suddenly turned his head and looked at her in astonishment.
