A breeze blew into Maple Residence.

A thick folder appeared on the coffee table as Mu Yuchen was taking a sip of the tea he just made. He raised his head and glanced at Su Chen.

Su Chen helped himself to a cup of tea and sat down after emptying the cup. “Here’s what you wanted: the documents inside Inspector Zhang’s safe box. It’s identical to what Uncle Mu found out. I checked with all the registered car workshops six years ago and looked into the mentioned workshop again.”

He refilled his cup and continued, “This workshop was a medium-sized workshop according to the documents. Doris and Gu Lingsha mentioned they wanted to go and offer their prayers at Guang Yuan Temple, the reason being, to pray for a good relationship between Gu Lingsha and you. It was Lingtian who sent them over, and only a few of them went there.

“The car started having issues on the way back, and it was coincidentally sent to this workshop for repair. It was located in a remote area. The car had a flat tire because there was some road construction work that went on nearby, and it seemed pretty normal at a glance. Inspector Zhang did a thorough investigation of the workshop’s owner and workers, and he found out something really interesting. Would you like to know what it was?” Su Chen tried to pique Mu Yuchen’s interest.

Mu Yuchen glanced at him before emptying his cup of tea and refilling it again. He opened the folder and started looking through the documents...

Su Chen shrugged and continued, “The workshop owner’s lover was once the lover of Doris’s subordinate, Glenn, when they were still studying back in England. The owner, of course, had no idea, but he was a typical wife’s slave and wouldn’t defy his wife’s orders. There was proof that Glenn frequently contacted this woman sometime before Lingtian’s accident. It might be worth checking out.”

Mu Yuchen quickly looked through the documents and managed to understand the situation. His expression hardly changed, but darkness started rising slowly in his eyes.

“By the way, I’ve checked the security camera footage. Some street thugs passed by at night and committed arson. The suspects have been arrested. They confessed that someone hired them to do so, meaning to teach me a lesson. After thinking it through, while I do have a lot of enemies, there aren’t many who would try to go against me publicly, and the recent incidents are pointing me towards one specific answer.”

Su Chen’s voice was cold. How could they try to hurt his woman? How dare they!?

“Doris or Qi Feng?” Mu Yuchen managed to capture his message.

“They sound like part of a group now, don’t they?” Su Chen put on a cold smile. “If I wasn’t trying to cooperate with Ah Mo right now, I’d have already taken them into the police station! And it’s very likely that Doris is the one behind Lingtian’s incident. Speaking of which, we assumed that Doris didn’t know about Lingtian’s identity, but Inspector Zhang’s results indicate that she has investigated Aunt Zixi before. Do you really think she had no idea? I’m pretty sure that she was trying to harm Lingtian.”

“Well, she knew about Lingtian’s identity earlier than anyone else. Inspector Zhang already found the workshop owner’s location, but we can’t reveal it right now.”

“He found him? Where?” Su Chen was surprised.

“In a village near City B. He divorced his wife, and she’s currently one of Glenn’s mistresses,” Mu Yuchen said coldly as he put on a grin, “It was the owner who wanted a divorce, the reason being that he didn’t want to burden his woman any longer. The woman went back to the UK after their divorce, and she sends him some money every three months. Inspector Zhang couldn’t find out much from him since probing more than necessary might cause suspicion.”

“So, Inspector Zhang went to the UK and tried to investigate that woman?” Su Chen was surprised.

Mu Yuchen did not reply, but his bright eyes gave the answer.

“Is there still no news regarding Ah Mo’s incident? Is Lingshi doing well?” Su Chen asked quietly.

“Father is working on Ah Mo’s incident at the moment. Our manpower is limited, after all. It’s good enough that we know he’s fine. I’m interested to see what Doris is up to. Ah Mo will be fine if she intends to put on a full performance up until the very end, but it might be a different case for Qi Lei!”

“True. Qi Feng will want him gone as soon as possible. Fortunately, Ah Mo is with him. If Doris isn’t an idiot, she would let Qi Lei live, but he will suffer a little at least.” Su Chen sighed.

“I’m really unhappy with Gu Qiwu’s efficiency.”

“If Doris and he aren’t going to clash, Ah Mo’s sacrifice will be for nothing.”

“Don’t worry. If she’s willing to take the risk, she won’t just give up here,” Mu Yuchen said calmly before putting the documents back into the folder and handing them to Li Si. “Keep this and tell Ah Bao to send more people to keep an eye on the workshop owner. I don’t want Doris to have any escape route this time.”

While his tone was calm, Li Si could sense a chilly aura from his words!
