Chapter 1358 - Return 1

The rain subsided after breakfast, and the three of them found an old tricycle with Uncle Chen’s help.

The mountain paths were rough. It was wet and rocky everywhere, but luckily they sort of got used to the terrain. Otherwise, they might have already thrown up.

“This damned weather and these rocky paths...when will they end? My whole body is breaking apart.” Qi Lei sounded annoyed.

“We’ll see a bigger town once we cross this mountain. There should be a mobile signal there. Hang in for now. The rain is getting heavier. Let’s look for some warm clothing over there.” Ah Mo glanced at Qi Lei and then at Yang Sheng whose lips had already turned purple from the cold, so he helped him to tighten his raincoat around him.

Qi Lei turned towards Yang Sheng as well.

Yang Sheng looked much skinnier from the ruckus in the past few days, and his expression was still awfully pale.

“Are you alright?” Qi Lei asked.

Yang Sheng shivered and nodded. “I’m fine. I can do this.”

“You know what? I’ll talk to the driver and let you sit in front.” Then, Qi Lei told the driver to stop and let Yang Sheng sit with him.

“I didn’t expect you to be so kind to your subordinate.” Ah Mo smiled at Qi Lei. He had seen every little kindness Qi Lei showed Yang Sheng during this whole time.

It was hard to imagine that someone who came from a prestigious family would have cared so much for a subordinate. Just like Ah Mo and Mu Yuchen, he felt pretty touched seeing them.

Qi Lei looked away and went quiet for a moment. “He’s always been caring for me, especially since my mother left.” His eyes brightened up a little when he spoke.

Ah Mo suddenly understood something and nodded lightly. “He’s a man worthy of befriending.”

Qi Lei smiled. “Yeah, it’s during times like these that you understand who are the genuine ones. Back when my mother appointed him to work under me, I thought he was her spy, so I didn’t really like him. Who would have known that he’d become my most loyal subordinate?”

“CEO Wang is trying to be nice. It’s just that...” Ah Mo tried to offer words of comfort. However, it was just not his forte.

“There’s no point anymore...I kept thinking to myself that if I hadn’t been so arrogant back then, if I hadn’t made her feel disappointed and listened to her instead, perhaps things might have been different. I would at least have had a chance to redeem myself.” Qi Lei put on a bitter smile. “Well, I suppose she’s now...”

He raised his head and looked at the dark sky as the rain fell. “She must be in heaven right now.”

“Yeah, she’s a good person. She must be there.”

Mu Yuchen was quietly going through documents inside his office in Glory World Corporation when suddenly Li Si barged in with a joyous tone.

Mu Yuchen nodded as he rushed towards his table.

“Great news, Master! Ah Bao just called and said they found Ah Mo and Master Qi! I’ve sent people over!”

They found them?

Mu Yuchen frowned slightly and put his pen down before leaning back against his chair.

“They are in a small town deep in the mountainous area. They had just left for a few hours when Ah Bao reached there, but the signal there is pretty bad, so Ah Bao only managed to give me a call after driving some distance away. Although his voice was not very clear, that was generally what he said.” Li Si was slightly relieved.

Mu Yuchen had some thoughts to himself before replying, “Get them back as soon as possible, and send them to the hospital to do a full body checkup right away.”

“Yes, Master!” Li Si quickly left the room.

Mu Yuchen’s phone started ringing as soon as the door was closed. It was Zhou Zimo calling, so he answered it.

“Why did you take so long to answer the phone?” Zhou Zimo’s voice reached his ear the moment the call was connected.

“What’s the situation now?” Mu Yuchen went straight to the point as he opened a Thermos flask and drank the tea inside.

“The evidence has been submitted. Wait for the good news tonight. You have to reward me for working so hard!” Zhou Zimo chuckled as Mu Yuchen frowned.

“When can Su Chen and you stop taking advantage of me?” He sounded unhappy.

“Too bad you just have way too much advantage to be taken of. Seriously, we’re lucky this time. I’d be in deep trouble if you didn’t solve the issue in time. My father alone would give me hell!” Zhou Zimo was clearly relieved.

“It’s about to be over soon. Haven’t you been waiting for this day after staying low for so long? Doris can’t do too much over here. Go wild.”

“Got it, just wait for my good news! By the way, Ah Mo...” Zhou Zimo was concerned about Ah Mo too.

“News just came in that they’ve been found. We should be able to bring them back. Su Chen is monitoring the departures, so don’t worry,” Mu Yuchen replied.
