Chapter 280
The First Heir
Giada smiled right as Philip was about to leave. âArenât you curious about what Wynn Johnston and I
were talking about, Philip?â
The temperature of the room seemed to drop significantly with that one sentence.
Furious, Philip turned to punch Giada.
Unfortunately, all eight of her bodyguards formed a wall between them.
âMove!â
Philip roared, flames of fury burning in his eyes.
Yet the eight bodyguards only averted their gaze downward, not moving an inch.
Giada was who they took orders from.
Philip might be the Clarkeâs young master, but he was not the man of the house. As such, he had no
right to give orders.
âI apologize, Young Master, but we have our orders,â said the head of the bodyguards.
Philip frowned and kicked the man. âF*ck you!â
Giada smiled. Putting on her pair of sunglasses, she left with her bodyguards behind her.
Standing by the window of the resting area, Philip watched as Giada got into a Rolls-Royce at the
entrance. With three black Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans both in front and behind, all seven vehicles
left the hospital.
Giada Wallis, a woman whose entrance had to outdo everyone.
Perhaps what happened was Giadaâs version of a warning, or it was an act of provocation.
So what if Philip Clarke was the future heir? As long as he had yet to take full control over the family,
he was merely a young master to Giada.
âPhilip? Whatâs wrong?â
Coincidentally, Wynn decided to come to look for him. With both her arms crossed in front of her, she
strolled toward Philip worriedly.
Philip was quick to rein his emotions in and replied with a smile, âNothing. Did Mila make a fuss today?â
Philip brushed shoulders with Wynn as he motioned to return to the hospital room.
However, Wynn placed a hand against Philipâs shoulders before he could walk past. With glimmering
eyes, she asked, âWhoâs Giada Wallis?â
The couple stared at one another as Philip searched for his voice to answer.
After a while only did Philip reply, âWynn, to tell you the truth, sheâs a relative of mine. She came over to
Riverdale for business, and having heard about my situation, she probably just came over to take a
look.â
Wynn frowned as she searched Philipâs eyes for any traces of a lie. Satisfied, she let go and nodded.
âAlright. Letâs go check on Mila.â
âDonât worry, okay? Itâs going to be alright.â Philip caressed her cheek before turning to leave.
Left alone, Wynn sat on one of the resting areaâs chairs. She was deep in thought.
After a long moment, she fetched out the quaintly designed name card from her pocket to examine.
Made of gold, the back of the card had a cloud design engraved on it and the name âWallisâ 3D-printed
in front.
A gold name card was not something one would find in any other family.
Giada had told her too that if she was open to answering any questions she had on Philip, all she
needed to do was bring this card to any store in Riverdale with the âWallisâ flag.
Wynn Johnston was confused. Philip was hiding something from her, but what?
Having made up her mind, Wynn returned to the hospital room as well.
Tonight was doomed to be a sleepless night.
Both Philip and Wynn laid back to back on the other hospital bed in the room despite having no
intention to fall asleep.
Philip received a call from Howard the next day with the latter sounding especially energetic and
excited.
âI-Iâm not dreaming, am I Philip? Someone told me this morning that Iâve become the new chairman for
Lush Harvest Groupâ¦â
Philip walked out of the room only to see Wynn getting ready in the bathroom in her shorts from the
corner of his eye.
Closing the door for her, he walked out of the hospital room and arrived at the hospitalâs garden. âThat
should be right.â
âHoly sh*t! So⦠So last night wasnât a dream?â Howard was as shocked as he was excited.
Memories of last night resurfacedâhow he had blown it off with Ruby but in turn, gained himself a
company and became a millionaire.
It was all thanks to Philipâs one phone call.
âNo, itâs not a dream. Itâs all real, so take your time and enjoy this new life of a millionaire, yeah? Maybe
enrich yourself a little more too. This is your company now, after all.â Philip smiled, sitting on a bench.
Having passed the initial craze, Howard asked, âBut how Philip? How did you do it? Youâre hiding
something from me, arenât you buddy?â
Habitually touching his nose, Philip mulled over how he should answer his friend. âUh, well, my familyâs
kind of rich, I guess. Like top-notch rich, richer than any Wang Sicong, Tiger, Mr. Zach, or Jack Ma. Iâve
just never said anything. Iâll tell you more next time, but you have to keep this a secret, especially from
Wynn and Mila, got it?â
Seated in his rented apartment, Howardâs head was in the clouds. It was ringing in shock. âThen arenât
you like, super rich?â
Philip smiled. âIâm okay, I guess. My debit cards have like 100 billion each? And my family owns 70% of
the worldâs wealth, I think.â
Philip would gladly show his hand if it meant for Howard to feel at ease.
Yet, out of the blue!
âPhilip? Whatâre you talking about? What 100 billion?â
Behind him came a sweet voice that scared the living lights out of Philip!
Whipping his head around, he was met with the sight of Wynn in a black dress that hugged her body in
all the right places. Her long legs were revealed at the hem of the dress. Her ivory white flesh
contrasted the black of her clothes.
Wynn had natural makeup on, and she was walking toward a dazed Philip with breakfast in her hands.
There was a suspicious look in her eyes. âWhat 70% of the worldâs wealth?â
