Chapter 476
The First Heir
âPhilip, why are you here?â
There was a smirk on Houstonâs face. He stood at the door and looked at Philip with a mocking look on
his face. âAnd you too Mindy, what are you doing? Youâre always loitering and not doing work! Do you
want to be fired?â
âNo, Sir, Iâmâ¦â
Mindy was scared. She wanted to explain, but she was interrupted by Houston.
âWhat do you mean no? I think you donât want this job anymore.â
Houstonâs eyes turned dark. âYouâre always running around during office hours and not doing any work.
Youâre fired!â
Philipâs face fell as he yelled, âMr. Michaels, you donât have to target other people because of me,
right? If you want to come for me, you can come for me. This has nothing to do with Mindy.â
âPhilipâ¦â
Mindy was touched. She wiped away the tears in her eyes.
The corner of his lips upturned as he said, âMr. Michaels, I forgot to tell you. From now on, Iâm also an
employee at Beacon.â
Beep!
Everyone in the office was stunned.
Philip was their colleague now?
Did Madam Johnston arrange this?
Houston shuddered. His face twitched, and he said angrily, âWhat are you talking about? Iâm the vice-
chairman of this company. When did you become one of our employees? Why do I not know about
this?â
Philip said flatly, âSo, youâre aware that youâre only the vice-chairman, huh? Itâs not surprising that you
donât know about this.â
âWhat did you say?â
Houston was mad. He pointed at Philip and yelled, âYou unbridled fool! Even if Iâm the vice-chairman, I
still have control over you. Beacon canât have an employee who disrespects their superiors! Iâm going
to ask HR to fire you now!â
Houston snorted internally. He was sure that Philip only got in here because of his relationship with
Wynn.
âAlright, Wynn, I see that youâll go as far as bending the rules to favor your husband.
âDo you think your family owns this company?â
If Philip knew this, he would have laughed and said, âYeah, itâs owned by her family. No, itâs bought by
her family.â
Their argument could be heard in the chairwomanâs office.
âTheyâre acting like children!â
Wynn furrowed her brows and walked over to the marketing department while her high heels clicked
under her.
In the end, what she saw shocked her.
Philip was swinging his fist at Houstonâs face!
âStop it!â Wynn yelled frantically.
It would be too horrifying to imagine what would happen if that punch had landed.
âPhilip Clarke, what are you doing?â
She ran over to the two of them, then glared at Philip.
âWell, wellâ¦â
Houston was trembling in anger. He was scared by the imposing manner being emitted from Philipâs
body.
He tugged on his tie and said viciously, âMadam Johnston, you saw what happened. Your husband of
the year even wants to punch me. Does he even respect me as a vice-chairman? Even if youâve hired
him as a new employee using your relationship with him, does he even know the rules?â
New employee?
Wynn was troubled. What the hell was going on? She turned around to look at Philip and pulled him to
one side. She asked, âWhatâs going on? Why are you here?â
He shrugged and smiled innocently. âIâm here for work.â
When Wynn heard this, there was a puzzled expression on her face. She asked, âFor work?â
Then, she covered her mouth and burst out laughing. She was not laughing at him, but rather, it was an
accident. She asked, âHow is it possible that youâre here? Alright, I know youâre worried about me. Go
home first. I can handle this.â
Philip felt helpless. He took out his offer letter from his pocket and handed it to Wynn. âI really am here
for work.â
After Wynn took the offer letter, she was stunned.
P-Philip was her assistant?
Why did she not know about this?
âH-How did you get in here and how did you become my assistant?â
Wynn was puzzled.
