Chapter 79
The First Heir
Slap!
A loud smack rang through the air.
At this instant, Samuelâs eyes were wide open as his face flared red with anger. He pointed a finger at
Wesley and shouted furiously, âShut up! Youâre in no position to speak here. Scram!â
He blamed himself for this. He had spoiled his son too much and that was what cultivated this arrogant
and defiant attitude of his.
âDad, are you crazy! Why did you hit me?â
Wesley felt extremely wronged as he turned and glared at Philip resentfully before grumbling, âWhat
the f*ck did you do? Why is my dad speaking to you like this!â
Philip said nothing.
Samuel, on the other hand, moved first. His hand went for Wesleyâs cheek once more as he yelled,
âWesley Warren, shut your d*mn mouth! How can you speak to Mr. Clarke with that tone? Do you know
that the ground youâre standing on now belongs to Mr. Clarke? The Arc de Triumph Group is now under
Mr. Clarke. Now hurry up and apologize to Mr. Clarke!â
Wesley was completely stunned.
The Arc de Triumph Group was now Philipâs?
What⦠What was going on?
âIâm so sorry, Mr. Clarke. I didnât teach my son how to behave himself. Please tell me what to do and
we can settle this however you want.â Samuel knew that his move now would determine his life from
today onward.
Philip stared into Wesleyâs empty eyes and replied, âItâs fine, your son and I are old classmates.â
Old classmates?
Taken aback, Samuel quickly recovered with a smile and said, âOh, thatâs good. Wesley should thank
his lucky stars for being able to have a classmate like you, Mr. Clarke.â
The flattery was making Philip extremely uncomfortable.
No way!
Impossible!
How did Philip get the money to purchase the Arch de Triumph Group?
He did not believe this!
He had already experienced living under Philipâs shadow during their college days.
Was Philip going to crush him once again?
He would not accept this!
âWesley Warren, do you remember what I said just now? Life is a long journey. You never know whoâs
going to strike gold, do you?â Philip said with a small smile.
Flustered, Wesley stumbled back and fell to the ground. With a finger pointed at Philipâs face, he yelled,
âThatâs impossible! Iâm Wesley Warren! Youâll never be able to beat me!â
Philip could not be bothered to entertain him any longer. He knew how unstable Wesley was at the
moment.
Wesley had thought he was high above everyone else when all of a sudden, everything he once had
turned into nothing. It was undeniably a huge blow to his ego.
Philip turned around and looked at Samuel. âMr. Warren, you still have eight more minutes. Have you
made up your mind?â
The edge of Samuelâs mouth twitched as he squeezed out a stiff smile. He was scared to even wipe
away the nervous beads of sweat on his forehead. âMr. Clarke, this isnât right at all. Why donât I get
Wesley to apologize to you?â
âHurry up and apologize to Mr. Clarke now!â Samuel yelled at Wesley whose mind seemed to have
drifted away.
The confused and absent-minded Wesley was forced by Samuel to apologize to Philip.
However, Philip quickly spoke up, âMr. Warren, sorry to interrupt but your son said earlier that if I can
buy Arc de Triumph, he would kneel and kowtow to me.â
Samuelâs mouth twitched once again as his eyes went cold. Still, the smile remained plastered on his
face as he responded, âMr. Clarke, itâs not necessary to be so harsh, right? No matter what mistakes
Wesley has made, thereâs no need to humiliate him in public.â
âThatâs not right, thereâs no such thing. If I didnât have the money and power that I have today, I know
for sure that Wesley would be pressing my head to the ground and forcing me to kowtow to him at this
very moment.
âDo the poor deserve to be bullied?
âDo the rich have the right to simply humiliate and insult others?
âWho gave you guys this right? The other rich people?
âAlright, then. Today, I, Philip Clarke, am a lot richer than you, so you must kneel down and apologize
to me right now!â
Every word that Philip said in this one, long breath hit everyone straight in the heart.
Many of the people present right then were just average Joes. They had encountered unfortunate
situations where they were bullied by the rich at least once in their life.
They never dared to fight back when they got trampled and humiliated by the rich.
Right now, however, Philip was speaking up for them. Naturally, they were happy.
âThatâs right! Brother Phil, youâre right! Come on, kneel down and apologize now!â
âD*mn! Iâve never liked this idiot, Wesley. Heâs always bullying us security guards all day. Does he think
that weâre his dogs that he can just boss around? F*ck him, he deserves to have a taste of his own
medicine!â
âKneel down! Hurry up and kneel down!â
All of a sudden, the crowd was outraged.
Everyone was pointing at Wesley, which only made him even more terrified.
âDad, help me! I donât want to kneel down!â Wesley grabbed his fatherâs arm and hid behind him.
Samuelâs expression darkened as he said to Philip, âMr. Clarke, do you really want to push this to the
extreme? I suggest you think this through because Iâm not someone to be pushed around. Mind you, I
still have people behind me on my side. Iâm not someone you want to provoke!â
Clearly, Samuel spoiled his son very much.
He would never let his son kneel before so many people to kowtow and apologize to someone else.
Philip laughed gently. âWell, I canât wait to find out who are these people you speak about that I canât
provoke.â
