As she thought about Ling Yucheng, Su Meng felt that after she was reborn, many things had changed from her previous life.  For example, Ling Yucheng, was supposed to not come back for two more years, but in this life, he had successfully returned to China after his studies. As for his other half free time, he used it all to tutor Su Meng.  As Grandma Zhang was very concerned about Su Meng’s achievements, after all, they had already cultivated a talented person, and the second child should also meet the expectations. So once Ling Yucheng returned to China, Grandma Zhang asked him to spend more time on Su Meng, and he did so.

Her cell phone rang and brought her back to reality.  Her mobile phone was in the right trouser pocket, and her right hand was held by Jiang Tingzhou against her ear. It was a bit troublesome to reach the mobile phone with her left hand.

Su Meng could only say, “My phone is ringing.”

Jiang Tingzhou’s eyes darkened for a moment, he let go of Su Meng’s hand, and before she could move, he first reached out to her pocket and took the phone out quickly.  She had no idea that Jiang Tingzhou would do this, “Jiang Tingzhou!”

Somehow he felt that the missing of his gift might be related to the caller.  He didn’t return the phone to Su Meng, but answered it and put the phone to his ear.

“Have you finished the meal?” Ling Yucheng’s gentle and elegant voice sounded in the microphone.

One could hear the concern in his words.  Jiang Tingzhou didn’t know when Ling Yucheng returned to China, but when he heard the familiar tone of the other party, facing Su Meng, Jiang Tingzhou’s other hand clenched into a fist unconsciously.  During the two years when he was absent, had there been something he didn’t know about?

Why would Ling Yucheng speak to Su Meng in such a tone?  Two years ago, when he faced Su Meng, Ling Yucheng only put gentleness on the surface, but in his bones there was an indifferent person.  But the sincere gentleness in his words now couldn’t be mistaken.

As there was no reply from Su Meng, Ling Yucheng said again, “It’s not safe for girls to be outside at night. I’ll pick you up after the party.”

Jiang Tingzhou lowered his eyes, his tone was cold, “No need. She is by my side now, she is safe, so please don’t bother.”

Ling Yucheng was startled, “Who are you…”

“I’m Jiang Tingzhou.”

If the upper beam isn’t straight then the lower beam would be crooked too.( Implies that if the parent is a crook then the child will also be one.)
