The Treasure Room

The Twin Dragons Series: Requiem City

I woke up coughing. I turned to my right to see Loch sitting in a chair next to my bed smoking a cigarette. He smirked when he noticed my eyes open, stubbing out the cigarette in a gold ashtray.

“Morning, mouse,” he cooed sarcastically. “Have a nice sleep?”

“I think I passed out…,” I said, remembering my ride through the clouds earlier. “You kept flying higher and higher… I couldn’t breathe…”

“Can’t handle a little turbulence? What were you expecting, first class?” Hael joked from his perch next to the window. Judging by the billion-dollar view, we were back in the penthouse at Req Enterprise. “You’re lucky we bothered to come get you at all.”

They were both shirtless, wearing their stupid matching leather pants. My breath caught at the sight of their bare chests, and a flash of desire shot through my core.

After everything I’d been through, I still wanted them, and that annoyed me.

“You’re the lucky ones,” I snapped. “If Xander had succeeded in killing me, we’d all be dead!”

The Dobrzyckas’ eyes smoldered. I knew I’d struck a nerve.

“One little lullaby and the power goes straight to her head,” Hael said in a mocking voice, trying to mask his annoyance that I knew their weakness. “Hardly surprising.”

“I think it’s time to begin her punishment. What do you think, brother?” Loch mused.

“Not yet,” Hael replied.

Loch growled, but Hael ignored him.

“You have information,” Hael said, his eyes practically boring holes into me. “What did you learn while you were under their control?”

I looked back and forth between the brothers. “Nothing,” I said. “There was nothing to learn.”

Loch shook his head. “You dumb girl. There’s always something to learn.”

I bristled at the insult. “Why should I share anything with you?”

Hael moved away from the window and sat next to me on the bed. He placed his hand over mine, and I instantly felt a level of calm that I didn’t know if I’d ever felt before.

“You know we can read your mind, little mouse. But we also know that’s invasive.”

Seemingly without thinking about it, I turned my hand until I could link our fingers together.

Loch joined us on the bed on my other side. My empty hand sought out his, and he immediately engulfed it in his large palm.

“We’ve been fighting these monsters for decades,” Loch said, his voice rough, like he was fighting back his anger. “We need to know what happened in there. Who you spoke to, what they said, and what you saw. Every detail is another arrow in our quiver.”

Sitting between the two of them on the bed, I felt the importance of what they were saying.

I told them everything. How Nautica and Mason picked me up on the road outside the mansion, how Xander wanted to execute me but then changed his mind. I even told them about the cemetery, Freesia’s Curse, and the moat surrounding the campus.

“What about the prophecy?” Hael asked once I was finished.

I shook my head, confused. “What about it?”

“Did they mention it, mouse?” Loch asked. “They know you’re our mate, but do they know anything about the prophecy?”

“I don’t know. They never said anything about it, and I didn’t bring it up.”

Hael and Loch locked eyes above my head. “If they even suspected about the prophecy, they never would have let her live,” Hael said.

“True, brother.” A smirk reappeared on Loch’s face as he shifted his gaze to me. “Now can we get to our mouse’s punishment?”

“Excellent idea,” Hael agreed, a similar smirk on his face.

I swallowed, trying to mask the zing of terror—or arousal?—that went through me. There was no way I’d give Loch and Hael the satisfaction of knowing that, not so deep down, I was petrified. I was facing the music head-on. If they were making me their slave, I was fucking owning it.

“Let’s see what you can do,” I said tauntingly. My harsh tone seemed to momentarily disarm the Dobrzyckas. Then Loch grabbed my arm and wrenched me out of bed.

“You’re not as brave as you think you are.” He chuckled, dragging me out of the bedroom. Hael followed.

We walked down a hall I didn’t remember seeing the last time I was at their penthouse, Loch’s hands wrapped firmly around my body.

There was a staircase leading up.

~Up to where?~ I thought. We were already on the top floor.

Hael walked to the top of a staircase as Loch held me down below. I watched as Hael punched a code into a panel near a large metal door. It reminded me of the dungeon back at their mansion.

“How many dungeons do you guys have?” I asked.

Hael glared from the top of the stairs. “It’s not a dungeon, mouse. Come and see for yourself.”

I started to move forward, but Loch held me tight.

“I think you meant ~crawl~ up, brother.”

Hael’s grin widened. “Right you are, brother. Crawl up here, my sweet little mouse. And try not to get your red slime on the carpeting.”

Loch laughed as he pushed me to the floor. “Move it,” he commanded, giving my ass a light slap when I didn’t immediately start to crawl up the stairs.

I scaled the tall staircase on hands and knees as the Dobrzyckas watched in amusement.

As I reached the top step, Hael grabbed my chin, guiding my face close to his crotch before tilting it up to face him. My pulse quickened at his touch.

“What’s in there?” I asked, glancing at the metal door. I avoided his eyes, trying to hide my growing arousal.

~Was it because of my brand? Or because I truly wanted to be treated this way?~

“A place of punishment,” he said coyly.

“I thought you said it wasn’t a dungeon.”

Loch laughed eagerly as he walked up behind me.

“When are you going to understand? Our dungeon is a place of pleasure, a temple of sexual enlightenment…for ~you~ at least…”

He passed us, lingering in the doorway.

“In this room, we’ll show you nothing but pleasure…though, it may be derived from pain.”

He disappeared inside. Hael grabbed the strap of my dress and pulled me after him. My bare knees scraped the carpeting, burning them raw.

“Are you hurt, mouse?” Hael asked, pretending to be sympathetic.

“It’s nothing I can’t handle,” I said through gritted teeth.

He let me go as we passed through the doorway. My jaw swung open automatically.

We weren’t in a dungeon at all.

It was their treasure room.

“Whoaaaa…”

Gold lay in heaps around the cavernous space. I saw stacks of money. Jewels. Artwork. Gleaming artifacts from ancient times. I thought back to the day I first entered Req Enterprise, dreaming of finding this mythic place and robbing the Dobrzyckas blind.

Now, here it was. Right before my very eyes.

Before I could stop myself, I stood from the ground and ran over to a pile of gold coins. I tossed a few into the air, showering in them. I touched a silver tiara set with diamonds. There must have been billions and billions and billions in here…

“Typical,” I said, finally regaining some composure. “Living in the clouds with your gold, high above everyone else.”

I turned, anticipating Loch’s and Hael’s oh-so-smooth response, but strangely, I didn’t see them anywhere. Just two piles of leather pants on the floor.

“Guys?” I asked. The treasure room door eerily shut in response.

“~She’s still clothed~,” Loch said in my head with a disappointed tone.

“~The disobedience isn’t surprising~,” Hael answered.

Suddenly, my body was engulfed in green fire. As usual, I didn’t feel a thing, but my clothes were burned to ashes. I didn’t enjoy being so exposed in front of them, wherever the hell they were, but we’d been through this game before. I was not impressed.

I scanned the room, indifferent to my nudity.

“Too lazy to take them off yourself?” I said in challenge.

“~Oh, but we did~,” Loch said. “~Look up.~”

I tilted my head. To my surprise, the ceiling seemed to rise for at least three or four more stories. It was too dark to tell exactly. Then I noticed movement… Two sets of shiny green orbs in the darkness…

Loch’s and Hael’s dragons!

I instinctively cowered as they descended from the ceiling like huge bats, flying straight at me. I screamed and closed my eyes, feeling the scratch of their scales as they whizzed past.

Their laughter echoed in my mind, but it sounded almost playful, like they wanted me to have fun with them.

Loch landed at my side, sniffing me up and down with his giant reptilian head, blasting me with his hot dragon breath. I caught a glimpse of huge yellow fangs. His jaws were like the mouth of a cave.

I knew he was just fucking with me, but I could have pissed with fear.

Loud creaking and whining came from behind me. Hael nudged over what looked like a human-sized golden birdcage.

“~Like your cage, mouse?~” he said.“~We picked our treasure room because the security is impossible to penetrate. We wouldn’t want anyone to interrupt us.~”

~Interrupt what?~ I stared at the giant cage, shivering with thoughts of what they had in store. They could do anything they wanted to me. I had no escape.

“You guys are psychos…,” I blurted out. The dragons laughed again.

“~You haven’t seen anything yet~,” Loch said darkly.

They transformed back to their human forms. Their fully naked human forms.

I tried not to focus on their statuesque bodies or the lengthy appendages swinging between their legs as they moved closer, but my brand tingled like an electric lamp, and I was so turned on by the sight of them.

Likewise, I saw their green eyes drinking in my nakedness.

I couldn’t help it. I wanted them.

Badly.

“You guys said you wouldn’t try anything while I’m on my period,” I protested in a shaky voice. Hael stopped a few inches away as Loch moved behind me.

“We were cutting you a break. But now you used up all our patience,” he said with a smirk. “You think we care about a little human blood? We’re dragons, sweetie.”

He pressed his hands on my bare shoulders, pressing me down to the ground.

“And we’ll teach you how to treat us with the respect that entails.”

Crouched on my knees, I was eye level with Hael’s cock. It was already swollen to full size. At least, I hoped so. It was as big as a baguette, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to make a meal of it.

Hael touched my cheeks with surprising tenderness, guiding me toward him.

~No way~, I thought, ~it’s too impossibly huge~…

“You were made to satisfy us,” Hael said. “It’ll fit. I assure you.”

I opened my mouth to respond. He used the opportunity to fill it.
