Lucas was still curled up against Amari's chest, his small body tucked into the warmth of Amari's hoodie. His paci bobbed softly in his mouth as his fingers clung to the fabric. Amari hadn't moved, hadn't pulled away. He just held Lucas there, letting him feel safe.

Lucas nodded, his cheek smushed against Amari's chest. "'M comfy..." he mumbled around his paci.

Amari smiled, rubbing small circles on Lucas's back. "Good."

Lucas shifted, his fingers fidgeting with Amari's hoodie string. He peeked up, his big doe eyes glassy and soft.

Lucas hesitated. His heart thumped. His fingers twisted in the fabric. Then, in the quietest, most hesitant whisper, he mumbled—

"...You be my daddy?"

Amari froze.

Lucas squeezed his eyes shut, curling into himself. "S-sorry—"

"Hey, hey, hey," Amari cut in, cupping Lucas's face. "Look at me, Tiny."

Lucas peeked up at him, his breath shaky.

Amari's brown eyes were soft, warm, understanding. "You want that?"

Lucas chewed his lip, nodding shyly. "...Yeah."

Amari searched his face for a long moment. Then, slowly, a small, soft smile curved his lips.

"Okay," he said.

Lucas blinked. "O-okay...?"

Amari leaned closer, tilting Lucas's chin up. "Okay, baby. I'll be your daddy."

Lucas's whole body flooded with warmth. His fingers trembled as they clung to Amari's hoodie.

"...F'real?" he whispered.

Lucas whimpered, his body going all soft and melty. He launched himself forward, burying his face in Amari's chest.
