Little Love
Lucas barely remembered falling asleep in Amari's arms. He had been so warm, so small, so safe. When he woke up, he was in his own bed, tucked under his softest pastel blankets, his bunny plushies surrounding him. His paci was still in his mouth, and his sippy cup of warm milk sat on the nightstand, as if someone had placed it there just for him.
He blinked sleepily, rubbing his eyes with his fists. His whole body still felt soft, little.
And thenΓ’ΒΒhis brain caught up.
Daddy.
Lucas's face burned, and he squeaked, yanking his blanket over his head. Had he really asked Amari to be his daddy last night?! And had Amari really said yes?!
Lucas rolled onto his tummy, kicking his feet, the butterflies in his stomach making him giggle softly.
But then... his door creaked open.
"Lucas, baby?"
Lucas peeked out from under his blanket, his paci still in his mouth. His mom stood in the doorway, her long dark hair pulled into a loose bun, wearing her cozy cardigan and pajama pants. Her eyes were gentle, her lips curled into a soft smile.
Lucas's heart thumped. His mommy always knew when something was different.
"...Hi, mommy," he whispered behind his paci.
She walked over, sitting on the edge of his bed. "You got home late last night," she said, brushing a hand through his messy hair. "Did Amari bring you home?"
Lucas nodded shyly. "Mhm..."
His mom's smile softened. "He's really sweet to you, isn't he?"
Lucas's face turned pink, and he buried it into his bunny plushie. "Mhm..."
His mom chuckled, smoothing her hand down his back. "You wanna tell me what's on your mind, baby?"
Lucas hesitated. His fingers curled into the blanket. He chewed on his paci, rocking slightly.
"...M-mommy," he mumbled, voice small.
"Yes, baby?"
"...I gots... a daddy now."
The room went silent.
Lucas peeked up through his lashes. His mom didn't look shocked. She just smiled, tilting her head. "...Oh?"
Lucas nodded, fidgeting with his bunny's ear. "A-Amari... He say he be my daddy..."
His mom exhaled softly, her eyes warm, knowing. "Is that what you wanted?"
Lucas gave a shy little nod. "Mhm..."
His mom reached over, stroking his cheek with her thumb. "Then I'm happy for you, my love."
Lucas blinked, surprised. "Y-you is?"
She smiled. "Of course. You've always wanted someone to take care of you like that. And if Amari makes you feel safe and loved, then I think he'll be a great daddy for you."
Lucas's heart fluttered. He squeaked, wiggling happily under his blankets. His mom laughed softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
"You gonna see him today?"
Lucas nodded eagerly, his feet kicking under the blankets. "Wanna see daddy..."
His mom smirked playfully. "Ooooh, you got it bad," she teased.
Lucas pouted, his cheeks heating up. "Moooom..."
She chuckled, ruffling his hair. "Alright, alright. Lemme make you some pancakes, then you can go see your daddy."
Lucas squeaked again, hiding under the covers.
His mom just laughed as she left the room, shaking her head.
Γ’Β¨ðΒΒ€ï¸ Later That Day...
Lucas stood outside the frozen yogurt shop, bouncing on his toes. His pastel pink sweater hung loosely off his small frame, his backpack slung over one shoulder. He chewed on his thumb, feeling that nervous, fluttery excitement in his tummy.
Would Amari still want to be his daddy today? Would it be weird? What ifΓ’ΒΒ
"Tiny."
Lucas's head snapped up. Amari was leaning against the doorway, still in his football practice gear, his muscular arms crossed, that easy smile on his lips.
Lucas's breath hitched. Amari looked so cool.
"C'mere, baby," Amari murmured, holding out a hand.
Lucas practically floated forward, letting Amari pull him into a hug.
"Hi, daddy..." he whispered, blushing.
Amari chuckled, leaning down to kiss the top of his head.
"Hi, baby."
Lucas melted.
Everything was perfect.
