Little Love
Lucas woke up to the feeling of strong arms wrapped around him, keeping him warm and safe. His bunny onesie was soft against the blankets, and his paci was still in his mouth. He blinked sleepily, stretching like a little kitten.
"Morning, baby," Amari murmured, his deep voice still thick with sleep.
Lucas wiggled happily. "Mownin', Daddy!" he chirped through his paci, rubbing his eyes.
Amari smirked, tucking a curl behind Lucas' ear. "Sleep good?"
Lucas nodded big. "Mhm! Had sleepy-dreams 'bout stuffies an' candy an' Daddy gived me lotsa cuddles." His voice was high and soft, still in little space.
Amari chuckled, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Sounds like a dream come true, tiny."
Lucas giggled, hiding his face against Amari's hoodie.
But thenรขยย
Knock knock.
"Amari? Breakfast is ready!" Mrs. Choi's voice came from the other side of the door.
Lucas froze. Oh... he 'membered. Daddy's mommy an' daddy. He already met them before, but he was little last night, and what if they thought he was weird today?
Amari must've noticed, 'cause he rubbed Lucas' back gently. "Hey, baby, it's okay. My parents love you. You don't gotta be nervous."
Lucas peeked up at him. "B-but... but what if they thinks m'too little?" His fingers twisted in Amari's hoodie anxiously.
Amari cupped Lucas' cheek. "They won't. And even if they did, you know what?"
Lucas blinked up at him. "Wha'?"
Amari booped his nose. "I don't care what anybody thinks, 'cause you're my baby."
Lucas' face turned pink, and he let out a tiny squeak. "Daaaaaddy..." He wiggled, all flustered.
Amari laughed, sitting up. "C'mon, let's go eat, tiny."
Lucas hesitated but nodded, climbing out of bed and grabbing his teddy bear. His onesie was so soft and warm, and he kinda wanted to stay little... but he was meeting Daddy's mommy and daddy again, so maybe he should be big for now.
So, he reached up for Amari's hand, and together, they went to the kitchen.
The Choi Family Kitchen - 9:00 AM
The smell of pancakes filled the kitchen, and Lucas' tummy rumbled. He shuffled shyly beside Amari, holding his bear tight.
Mrs. Choi turned and smiled warmly. "Good morning, sweetheart! Did you sleep well?"
Lucas nodded, rocking on his feet. "Mhm!"
Mr. Choi smirked. "Amari didn't snore too loud, did he?"
Lucas giggled, shaking his head. "Nooo, Daddy was warm an' safe."
Amari side-eyed his dad. "I don't snore."
Lucas looked up at him, tilting his head. "Uhh, Daddy? Yuh-huh, you do."
Mrs. Choi laughed, setting a plate of pancakes in front of Lucas. "Well, at least he kept you warm."
Lucas climbed onto the chair, swinging his feet. "Fank you, Mrs. Choi!"
She patted his head. "Anytime, honey."
As they ate, Mr. Choi asked, "So, Lucas, do you have any hobbies?"
Lucas thought about it, then smiled big. "Uh-huh! I like colowin' an' watchin' toons an' playin' wif stuffies!"
Mr. Choi raised an eyebrow, but before he could say anything, Amari spoke up. "He's really good at drawing," he said proudly, squeezing Lucas' knee under the table.
Lucas beamed, kicking his feet. "Mhm! I draw Daddy aaaaall da time."
Mrs. Choi smiled softly. "That's so sweet, Lucas. You must really love Amari, huh?"
Lucas nodded so fast. "Wuvs Daddy sooo much."
Amari chuckled, ruffling Lucas' hair. "Love you too, tiny."
Mr. Choi leaned back, watching them. "You two are really close."
Amari met his dad's gaze. "Yeah. We are." His voice was steady, sure.
Lucas peeked up at Mr. Choi. He still wasn't sure if Daddy's daddy really understood why Lucas needed to be little sometimes. But thenรขยย
Mr. Choi nodded. "That's good. As long as you're happy, kid."
Lucas blinked. "Really?"
Mr. Choi smirked. "Really."
Lucas felt warm all over. Maybe Daddy's daddy did understand... at least a little.
Amari nudged Lucas' sippy cup toward him. "Drink up, baby. We got a big day ahead."
Lucas tilted his head. "We do?"
Amari's lips curled into a secret smile. "Mhm. It's a surprise."
Lucas' eyes sparkled. "Ooooooh!!"
What could it be?!
