Little Love

The morning sun was warm but gentle as Lucas held onto Amari's hand, his other hand gripping his lion plushie tightly. He was so excited but also a little nervous. Amari's parents were meeting his mommy againҀ”this time for a picnic!

Lucas' mommy, Mrs. Min, had packed everything in the cutest picnic basket, and Amari's mom had made homemade kimbap. Lucas' tummy was already doing a happy dance.

Amari looked down at him, squeezing his hand. "You okay, tiny?"

Lucas nodded quickly. "Uh-huh! Jus' excited..." His voice got softer. "An' lil' nervous..."

Amari smiled, leaning down to press a quick kiss to Lucas' temple. "It's gonna be good, baby. Promise."

Lucas smiled shyly, pressing his face into Amari's sleeve for a second before nodding again.

The park was so pretty! The sun was shining, the flowers were all colorful, and there was a big blanket set up under a shady tree. Lucas' mommy was already chatting with Amari's parents, and it made Lucas feel warm inside to see them getting along.

Mrs. Choi was all smiles, setting down the food. "Lucas, sweetheart, I made these just for you! Amari told me you like soft foods." She opened a container of kimbap cut into small, bite-sized pieces.

Lucas' eyes went big. "Fo' me?" He looked at Amari, then back at Mrs. Choi, feeling so special.

She nodded, her expression kind. "Of course, baby."

Lucas blushed but carefully picked up a piece, nibbling on it. It was so yummy!! His little feet kicked happily under him as he ate. "Mmm!! 'S yummy!!"

Mrs. Choi giggled. "I'm so glad, little one."

Amari's dad, Mr. Choi, gave Lucas a warm look. "So, Lucas, tell me, do you like sports?"

Lucas hesitated, looking at Amari. He didn't really like sports... but Amari was a football player... what if his daddy's dad thought that was bad?

Amari rubbed Lucas' back. "Baby, it's okay. Just be yourself."

Lucas peeked up at Mr. Choi. "Umm... dun wike spowts... but Daddy wooks so cool playin'."

Mr. Choi chuckled. "That's okay, kiddo. Not everyone has to like football." He winked at Amari. "I'm just glad my son has someone who loves and supports him."

Lucas' cheeks went so pink, and he hid behind Amari's arm, making everyone laugh.

After the picnic, Amari's parents had to leave, but Mrs. Min had one more surprise!

"Since it's such a nice day, how about we all go out for a little fun?" she said with a smile.

Lucas bounced excitedly. "Whewe, Mommy?"

She tapped his nose. "It's a surprise, baby bear."

Lucas loved surprises! He clapped his hands and looked up at Amari. "Daddy, wet's go!!"

Amari chuckled, ruffling Lucas' curls. "Alright, tiny, let's go."

They all piled into the car, and soon, Lucas realized where they were goingҀ”an aquarium! His whole face lit up.

"Fishies!!"

Mrs. Min smiled at him through the rearview mirror. "That's right, baby. I know how much you love them."

Lucas bounced in his seat, holding Amari's hand so tight. He was so happy. His mommy, his daddy, and a whole day of fun together.
