Little Love
Lucas sat on the edge of his bed, clutching his stuffie close to his chest as he sucked on his paci. His eyes were a little puffyΓ’ΒΒhe had woken up feeling extra little today, emotions all over the place because of what today was.
Graduation Day.
His daddyΓ’ΒΒhis AmariΓ’ΒΒwas graduating high school. And that meant things were changing.
Lucas didn't like change. Change was scary.
He let out a small whimper, curling into himself as he hugged his stuffie tighter. He didn't wanna think about Amari going off to college, leaving him behind.
A soft knock on his door made him peek up. "Baby?" Amari's voice was gentle as he stepped into the room. He was already dressed in his graduation gown, cap tucked under his arm. He smiled when he saw Lucas curled up on the bed. "Aww, little man, you okay?"
Lucas shook his head, his bottom lip trembling behind his paci. "D-Don' wan' today, Daddy..."
Amari's face softened as he walked over, sitting beside him on the bed. "Aww, baby... c'mere." He gently pulled Lucas into his lap, rocking him slightly. "What's goin' on in that little head of yours, hmm?"
Lucas sniffled, pressing his face into Amari's chest. "E-everythin's changin'... y-you gon' go to college an' f'get 'bout me..."
Amari sighed, tilting Lucas' chin up so he could look into his teary eyes. "Hey, hey... listen to me, little one." He kissed Lucas' forehead, then his cheeks. "I could never forget about my baby boy. You're my world, baby. You hear me?"
Lucas nodded weakly, but his small hands still clung to Amari's gown like he was afraid to let go.
"Daddy loves you so much," Amari whispered, kissing his nose. "And guess what?"
Lucas peeked up. "Wha'?"
"My parents... they wanna talk to you and your mommy later," Amari said, rubbing Lucas' back. "They wanna offer for you guys to move in with us while I go to college."
Lucas' eyes widened. "M-move in...?"
Amari nodded. "That way, you'd never be far from me, baby. You'd still have your own room, but you'd always be close."
Lucas blinked a few times before his face broke into a relieved little smile. "Really, Daddy?"
"Really, really, baby boy." Amari chuckled, booping his nose.
Lucas squealed softly, wrapping his arms around Amari's neck. "I wuv you, Daddy..."
"I love you too, baby. Now, how 'bout Daddy helps his little boy get ready for the big day, hmm?"
Lucas nodded happily, feeling so much better now.
Γ°ΒΒΒ Getting Ready (Bath, Changing, and Care)
Amari carried Lucas into the bathroom, setting him down gently. "Alright, baby, let's get you all nice and clean, hmm?"
Lucas giggled, holding his arms up so Amari could undress him. Once he was stripped down, Amari helped him into the warm bath, making sure the water wasn't too hot.
Lucas kicked his little feet, giggling as Amari lathered up the washcloth. "Tickwes, Daddy!"
Amari laughed. "I know, baby, but we gotta make sure you're all fresh and clean, okay?" He scrubbed Lucas' arms, tummy, and legs, making sure to be gentle. He washed his hair next, tilting his head back carefully so the water wouldn't get in his eyes.
Once Lucas was all clean, Amari wrapped him up in a fluffy towel, carrying him back to his room. "Let's get my little baby all dressed up, hmm?"
Lucas nodded, still feeling super little as Amari laid him down on the bed. His daddy pulled out a soft onesie for him, knowing it would make him feel extra safe. He even helped him into a fresh pull-up, making sure he was comfortable.
"There we go, my handsome baby," Amari cooed, booping his nose. "All ready for Daddy's big day."
Lucas giggled, snuggling into Amari's chest as he was picked up again.
Γ°ΒΒΒ Graduation Ceremony
Lucas sat between his mommy and Amari's parents, holding onto his teddy as he sucked his paci. The ceremony felt long, but he was so proud when Amari's name was finally called.
"That's my boy!" Amari's dad cheered, clapping loudly.
Lucas beamed, bouncing in his seat as he watched Amari walk across the stage, accepting his diploma. His Daddy looked so cool and grown-up.
When Amari turned to look at the crowd, he found Lucas instantly. He gave him a little wink before flashing his signature confident grin.
Lucas felt his heart flutter. That's my Daddy...
Γ°ΒΒΒ After-Party & The Big Decision
After graduation, Amari's parents hosted a small after-party at their house. Lucas sat in Amari's lap, happily munching on some fruit his Daddy had cut up for him.
Mrs. Min smiled warmly. "Lucas, sweetheart, did you have fun today?"
Lucas nodded shyly, peeking up at Amari, who rubbed his back soothingly.
Amari's parents exchanged a look before his dad cleared his throat. "Mrs. Min, we actually wanted to talk to you about something."
Lucas' mommy raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Amari's mom smiled. "We know Amari is heading off to college soon, and we wanted to offer for you and Lucas to move in with us. That way, Lucas can still be close to Amari, and you won't have to worry about anything."
Lucas gasped softly, looking up at his mommy with wide eyes.
Mrs. Min looked surprised, but she smiled after a moment. "That's... really kind of you. I'll have to think about it, but I do think Lucas would love that."
Lucas nodded quickly, clinging to Amari's hoodie. "M-move in, Mama? Pwease?"
Amari's mom chuckled. "We'd love to have you, sweetheart."
Lucas beamed, bouncing happily in Amari's lap. "Yay! Daddy, we gonna be togetha'!"
Amari kissed his cheek. "Always, baby. Always."
As the night went on, Lucas snuggled deeper into Amari's chest, feeling safe. He didn't know what the future held, but as long as he had his Daddy, he knew he'd be okay.
