Little Love

Lucas sat in his room, hugging his favorite stuffie close to his chest as he watched his mommy pack up the last few boxes. His paci bobbed softly in his mouth as he sucked on it, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves.

Today was a big day.

He and his mommy were officially moving into Amari's house.

"Baby, you okay?" his mommy asked gently, brushing some hair from his face.

Lucas nodded slowly but still clung to his stuffie. "Mhm..."

His mommy gave him a knowing look. "Are you excited or nervous?"

Lucas lowered his gaze. "Both..."

His mommy smiled softly. "That's okay, sweetheart. Change is scary, but you're gonna be just fine. Amari and his parents love you so much."

Lucas peeked up at her. "You sure?"

She kissed his forehead. "I'm sure, my love."

Just then, a familiar voice called out from downstairs.

"Baby boy! Daddy's here!"

Lucas' face instantly lit up as he dropped his stuffie and scrambled off the bed. "Daddy!!"

He raced down the stairs, nearly tripping in his excitement. As soon as he reached the bottom, he launched himself at Amari, who caught him easily, lifting him up into his arms.

"Whoa there, little man," Amari chuckled, squeezing him tight. "Miss me that much?"

Lucas nodded eagerly, wrapping his arms around Amari's neck. "Mhm! Daddy, we goin' home today?"

Amari smiled, kissing the top of Lucas' head. "Yeah, baby. You ready?"

Lucas hesitated for a second, then nodded again. "As long as I got you, Daddy..."

Amari's heart melted at that. He gave Lucas a little squeeze. "Always, baby boy. Always."

🚚 Moving In & Getting Settled

Amari's parents had already helped set up Lucas' new room before the move, making sure it felt safe and comfy for him.

When they arrived, Lucas clung to Amari's hoodie, peeking around shyly. Even though he had been here so many times, it felt different knowing this was his home now.

Amari's mom smiled warmly. "Welcome home, Lucas."

Lucas' lips parted slightly. Home.

Amari carried him inside, walking straight to his new room. When Lucas saw it, his little heart swelled.

His bed was covered in soft, plush blankets, with all his favorite stuffies sitting neatly on top. There were fairy lights strung along the walls, casting a warm glow. In the corner, there was a cozy little reading nook with pillows, and even a small shelf filled with some of his favorite books.

Lucas gasped softly. "D-Daddy..."

Amari smiled, watching his reaction. "You like it, baby?"

Lucas nodded quickly, burying his face in Amari's chest. "Wuv it..."

Amari kissed his forehead. "Good, 'cause this is your home now, baby boy."

Lucas clung to him, feeling safe and loved.

Γ°ΒŸΒ›Β Bathtime & Bedtime Routine

That night, after a long day of unpacking and settling in, Lucas was feeling extra little. His thumb had found its way into his mouth, and he was clinging to Amari's hoodie like a sleepy koala.

Amari chuckled. "Aw, my baby's gettin' all sleepy on me, huh?"

Lucas nodded, rubbing his eyes. "Mhm... bath time, Daddy?"

"Of course, little one," Amari cooed, carrying Lucas to the bathroom.

Once the tub was filled with warm water and bubbles, Amari helped Lucas undress and lifted him into the bath. Lucas giggled as the bubbles tickled his skin.

Amari smiled, gently running a washcloth over Lucas' arms and tummy. "You're such a good boy for Daddy," he murmured.

Lucas beamed, kicking his little feet in the water.

After his bath, Amari wrapped him in a fluffy towel, carrying him to his room. He helped him into a fresh pull-up and one of his soft onesies before tucking him into bed.

Lucas snuggled into his stuffies as Amari sat beside him, rubbing his back soothingly.

"Daddy?" Lucas mumbled sleepily.

"Yeah, baby?"

Lucas peeked up at him. "Dis really our home now?"

Amari kissed his forehead. "Yeah, baby. This is home. And you're safe with me, always."

Lucas let out a soft sigh, sucking on his paci as his eyes fluttered shut.

Amari watched him for a moment, smiling softly. This was just the beginning.
