Chapter 295
Meet My Brothers
Alarmed that things werenât going as she hoped it would, Maya spoke, âDominic, this issue has nothing
to do with that demolition project. Iâm positive.â
Dominicâs eyes slightly, narrowed. âHow did you know?â
Her expression turned awkward. âBecause those residents are people from the lower class. How are
they able to perform such things? Youâre overthinking it.â
The mention of social class added grimness to his tone. âThe lower class? Have you forgotten
where you came from?*
There was a huge shift in her expression. She quickly said, âThis is a different matter. Leave this issue
to me. I wonât let you down.â
He was smart enough to grow suspicious about it having something to do with the demolition.
After all, Mia wouldnât hack into the companyâs system without a solid reason. He had faith in her
character.
Right then, someone from the Technical Department shrieked, âMr. Lane, that hacker hacked into our
system again. He emailed a voice recording this time.â
Surprised, Dominic ordered, âLetâs hear what it says.â
Meanwhile, Maya had a bad feeling about this.
Could it be the conversation she shared with Mia at the waiting area?
Did Mia hire someone to do all this?
Maya overlooked a possibilityâMia might not have the capability to hack, but she could find someone
else to do so!
Someone played the recording, which revealed a conversation between two women. It was Maya and
Miaâs conversation earlier.
Mayaâs face fell and she jumped to deny it, âDominic, this is not my voice. Itâs phishing!â
Dominic frowned at Mayaâs haughty attitude toward Mia.
He looked at Maya before berating her. âDo you take me for a fool? Iâm smart enough to tell that youâre
lying. What do you mean by that? You stopped the compensation procedure? How dare you, Maya
Lane!*

Finally, he knew the whole story of the situation.
He glared at Randy. âSpeak up! If you donât give me an explanation, all of you will be fired!â
Dominicâs assistant read the room and urged the others to leave the office.
Randy and Maya stood at their places. She gulped. âDominic, weâre just following the procedures. That
family hasnât received the compensation because some of the documents werenât aligned. We need
them to hand over the remaining files.â
Dominic read the document before throwing it in her face. He yelled, âWhatâs not aligned? Tell me, what
is not aligned?â
He asked someone to prepare Miaâs documents, so there shouldnât be any problem.
Maya was baffled for a moment before leveling with him, âI have beef with her, Dominic. Thatâs why Iâm
picking on her. Donât intervene. Iâll take care of it.â
Beef?
He chuckled coldly before instructing Randy. âHand in your resignation letter to the Human Resources
Department. If you donât want to be held accountable for this, better apologize to that resident.
Otherwise, a lawyerâs letter will be coming for you.â
Randy immediately looked at Maya. âMs. Lane, I was simply following your orders. You have to explain
everything to Mr. Lane! I have nothing to do with this!â
At this stage, the only person he could count on was Maya.
