Chapter 477
Meet My Brothers
Mia had almost lost hope, but to her surprise, Timothy arrived just in time to intervene and drive away
the two
unfamiliar men.
A swirl of emotions engulfed Mia.
With a hint of apprehension, Timothy confessed, âIf anything were to happen to you, I wouldnât know
how to face. Grandma.â
Upon hearing his words, Mia lowered her gaze, masking her feelings.
With a forced smile, she responded, âI appreciate your help back there.â
âWell, I couldnât just ignore being called â sweetheartâ like that.â
Mia remained silent.
As they exited the secluded grove, Mia spotted a security vehicle parked nearby.
Two men were being escorted inside. forcefully, their attire and features
somewhat familiarâthey were the same. men who had assaulted her earlier.
Yet now, they appeared severely bruised, limping as they moved, their previous arrogance replaced by
defeat.
If it werenât for their clothing, Mia would have almost failed to identify them.
Turning to Timothy beside her, she inquired, âThey seem to be in bad shape. Did you have a hand in
this?â
Standing next to her, Timothy replied coldly, âI merely taught them a lesson. They got what was coming
to them.â
With her head bowed, Mia couldnât help but feel a sense of contentment as she observed the two men,
looking utterly disheveled.
After all, who wouldnât appreciate someone standing up for them like this?
In that instant, Miaâs phone rang. She reached for it and noticed an incoming call from Connor.
Gripping her phone, Mia stole another
glance at Timothy.
As Timothy observed the incoming call flashing on her phone screen, he pursed his lips. âGo ahead,
take the call.â
Stepping aside, Mia answered her phone. âHello.â
âMia, are you still at campus? I just finished work. Iâm on my way to pick you up.â
âItâs okay, you donât have to. Iâm already in the car. Iâll head back myself.â
âOkay, donât forget your prenatal check- up at the hospital tomorrow morning. For the next appointment,
we can schedule it in Nord City. That way, we wonât need to be secretive about it.â
After confirming with Connor, Mia ended the call, her mind lingering on his words.
Indeed, she was going to leave Bern City
soon.
As Mia turned around, Timothy firmly instructed, âGet in the car. Iâll drive you home.â

After a brief pause, Mia nodded in agreement. However, Timothy fixed her with a penetrating gaze.
As they settled into the car, he couldnât resist asking, âWhy did you lie just now? You hadnât left yet, so
why did you turn down Connorâs offer to pick you up?â
âBecause I need to discuss something with you.â
Mia lifted her gaze to meet Timothyâs, her clear, almondâshaped eyes mirroring his silhouette.
Timothyâs breath hitched, his voice masking his inner turmoil. âSo, have you reached a decision?â
âYes, I have.â
Her response made Timothyâs heart race.
Considering Miaâs past dishonesty, he felt somewhat reassured, believing he could probably predict her
decision.
Clearing his throat, Timothy remarked, I trust youâll make a wise decision.â
Mia took a deep breath and met his gaze. Iâve decided to leave here and move to Nord City.â
Timothyâs fingers quivered slightly as she said that, disbelief flickering in his
eyes.
A tense silence hung in the car for a
moment.
Timothyâs gaze softened, and he pressed his lips together before asking, âHow did I fall short compared
to Connor?â
Mia avoided Timothyâs gaze, afraid he might see through her true intentions.
With a lump in her throat, she responded, âIâve decided to have the twins in Nord City. I canât let them
grow up in an unwelcoming family environment, so Iâve chosen to leave Bern City for their wellâbeing.â
Aware of Timothyâs aversion to children, Mia was determined to keep the fact that her twins were
biologically his a secret.
