Chapter 511
Meet My Brothers
Mia looked at Maya upon Liamâs words, puzzled.
Mava was the take princess?
The term exasperated Maya so much that she screamed, âSo what if I do? I am part of the family and I
have the right to voice out my opinion. How could you keep me in the dark? Iâm not a fake princess!â
Maya couldnât accept reality. If only she had found Mia sooner, she wouldâve been able to deal with Mia
instead of becoming the passive party.
Dominic said coldly. âYouâre not one of us. Youâre aware of this from the day you left the orphanage.
Your grew greediel, coveting things that arenât rightfully yours.â
âThings that arenât rightfully mine? I am Ms. Lane too! What part do I lack compared to Mia? Iâve
contributed so much to the family for so many years. But you want to drive me away as soon as Mia
returns? Not a chancelâ
Maya was losing it, feeling that the whole world was treating her unfairly.
Dominic frowned. âWhat do you want?â
She sneered and turned back, pointing at Timothy. âI want to marry into the Barrett family and become
Mrs. Barrett.â
Timothyâs brows furrowed. âIâd rather be single forever than marry you.â
Sharon chimed in. âMaya, look, Timothy doesnât like you. A forced relationship is bound to be
miserable.â
Maya glared at Sharon. âHow ironic. Before this, havenât you always been hoping for me to marry
Timothy? Now that you discover that Iâm an adopted child, youâre repulsive to the idea, huh? I guess
rich
people are materialistic too.â
That pricked Sharonâs guilty conscience, but Maya did cross the line with her words.
Sharon snorted, âThatâs unbecoming of you to say that, Ms Lane. I thought you were raised to be
proper.
I never knew that youâd be this disrespectful.â
âI know, right? Aunt Sharon, I think somethingâs off about Maya too. Sheâs an adoptive child, but she
claims herself to be Ms. Lane in Bern City. She lied to all of us.â Shelly came to the scene as she found
it
odd that no one showed up.
Who wouldâve known sheâd overhear such a mindâblowing secret? Maya was adopted by the Lanes
while Mia was the true Ms. Lane!
This was a melodrama playing in real life!
As both ladies from the Barrett family mocked her, Maya couldnât help but barked back, âYou donât have
the right to say that to me. Shelly Barrett! Who do you think you are? Youâre broke and you used me for
my credit card.â
Shelly gulped. âYou were trying to curry favor with me because you want to marry into our family. Now,
we know that youâre just an adoptive child and a poor woman whoâs going to be driven out to the
streets.
Weâre different.â
That was Shellyâs revenge for Maya who acted all haughty, and for freezing Shellyâs credit card. Shelly
couldnât accept that coming from a mere adoptive child.
Sharon nodded. âShelly, youâre right. Weâve always emphasized the compatibility of our family
background. Since Maya is an adopted child, sheâs not fit to be one of us. Mia is the better candidate.â
Miaâs eyes darted at Sharon, and the corner of her lips twitched.
Never once had Sharon treated her so nicely. This was the first.
Before this. Sharon kept giving her the cold treatment and picking on her.
To have power was indeed an advantage.
Sharon expressed guilt. âI didnât know all of this, Mia. Maya kept driving a wedge between us. That was
why I had been treating you badly. But we know the truth now. Weâre still a family.â
