Chapter 653
Meet My Brothers
Mia opened her suitcase, wondering what she should wear for her date later that evening. Her eyes ran
through her options as she replied to Wade, âWhat is it?â
âMs. Mia, Mr. Dominic told me to inform him when you meet your exâhusband.â
Her hands paused. âWhy are you telling me this?â
âBecause I respect your decision.â
That answer elicited a smile from her. âYou sure have a way with your words. Donât worry. Iâm not
interested in my exâhusband. Dominic is just worried that I might lose control of my emotions when I
meet my exâhusband. Look at me now. Iâm completely fine.â
Four years ago, she managed to narrowly avert losing her babies in an accident, albeit at the cost of
her memories with Timothy.
A sigh escaped from Wade. There was something he hadnât said âYouâve got the wrong person, Ms.
Mia. Mr. Barrett is your exâhusband!â
She noticed his troubled expression. âYouâre overthinking. You can contact my doctor. Ask him if Iâm
doing good lately.â
He figured that it was a good idea. Leaving them alone, he immediately contacted Ryan Grayson, the
psychologist in charge of Miaâs case.
Wade recounted the whole situation.
âYou mean she took the wrong person for her exâhusband?â Ryanâs voice was deep.
âYes, should I tell her the truth?â
âNo, for now. Letâs take a desensitization experiment. I was worried that Mia meeting Timothy would
awaken the memories I sealed through hypnosis. If she doesnât remember, let it be. If she remembers,
you donât have to do anything either.â
Wade sighed, thinking that Mia shouldnât have come to Xanier Island. However, what was done was
done. Mia would surely come here because Ginger sneaked to the island.
Was it all destiny?
Back in the room, Mia had chosen which dress to wear. After getting changed, she highlighted her
features with makeup.
Gingerâs light step carried her to her mother. âWow! You look so pretty, Mommy!â
Mia stroked Gingerâs head. âStay in the room. Now, itâs time to test whether that man is qualified to be
your father.â
âOkay, Iâll be waiting for you, Mommy!â
Stepping in heels and holding her bag, Mia breezed out of her room.
She strode to the other room while humming.
Inviting a man to her room?
That was not something that she would do.
When she entered the room, no one was in there. She couldnât believe that Timothy would arrive later
than her. Men would normally be more enthusiastic when it came to dates in a hotel because there was
only one thing they would think of.
Mia clucked her tongue, seemingly approving Timothyâs pushâandâpull strategy. She poured herself a
glass of wine.
That was the most direct method to test a manâs true intention. Basically, no one passed the
test all these years.
Before long, there was a knock at the door. Mia directed her gaze toward it. âCome in. Itâs not locked.â
Still, the person outside kept knocking.
Frowning, she walked toward the door. âI said, itâs not locked. Who are you?â
A hotel attendant stood outside the door and politely said, âMs. Monalize, Mr. Barrett told me to take
you to a place.â
Mia was surprised.
Where was Timothy planning to take her?
