Chapter 716
Meet My Brothers
Feeling relieved, Asher set down his utensils and headed toward the play
area.
Now, only the three adults remained at the table.
Luna was determined to improve Asherâs image in Timothyâs eyes.
She explained, âTim, I understand that Asher has been a bit spoiled. When we get home, Iâll ensure he
learns how to eat on his own. I wonât allow the nanny from the Barrett family to continue feeding him
anymore.â
âHmm.â Timothy simply responded with a humm.
As Mia finished up her meal, she turned to Timothy and asked, âWhy does Asher need a nanny from
the Barrett family to take care of him?â
While the investigation revealed little about Lunaâs relationship with Timothy, it was evident that Luna,
along with Asher, had been living in the Barrett residence.
Indeed, their relationship appeared to be anything but ordinary.
Lunaâs expression brightened with a smile. âItâs challenging for me to raise a child by myself. After a
previous bad experience with a nanny, Mrs. Barrett was concerned for Asherâs wellâbeing and
arranged for a new nanny to
assist.â
Finally, Monalize inquired about Asherâs identity.
Mia raised an eyebrow. âIs Asher your son, Mr. Barrett?â
âNo,â Timothy denied firmly.
Luna seemed somewhat embarrassed as she uttered, âRegardless, Asher is still part of the Barrett
bloodline.â
Mia was puzzled by Lunaâs statement. Despite Timothyâs denial that Asher
was his son, Luna continued to insist that he was connected to the Barce lineage.
However, Timothy was an only child!
âOh! Iâm going to beat you! Iâll keep hitting you until youâre dead! How dare you take my toy!â
Suddenly, Asherâs voice echoed nearby.
As Mia turned around, she noticed Ginger being pinned to the ground by Asher. Her expression quickly
shifted, and she dashed over without hesitation. âWhy are you attacking her?â
Pushing Asher aside, Mia quickly scooped Ginger up, embracing her tightly, âGinger, are you alright?
Can you let Mommy know if youâre hurt?â
Nonetheless, Ginger offered no response. She weakly leaned against Miaâs chest before slipping into
unconsciousness.
Miaâs heart raced with fear as she begged, âGinger, please wake up, donât scare mommy!â
Luna expressed her surprise, musing, âIt seems like just a small squabble between the kids. Knowing
Asher, heâs not typically that rough. Is it possible that Ginger might be suffering from some other
ailment?â
Timothy sternly intervened, âLuna, keep your mouth shut!â
With that, he picked up the unconscious Ginger and cradled her in his arms. âIâll take her to the
hospital.â
Miaâs eyes reddened slightly as she glanced back at Luna, a hint of hostility in her gaze. âIf anything
happens to Ginger, I wonât let you off the hook.â
Luna instinctively shielded Asher behind her. Nervously, she asked, âWhat do you plan to do? Asher is
still so young; he doesnât grasp the situation.â
âYouâd better pray Ginger is alright!â Mia retorted as she left the lounge, leaving Luna visibly shaken.
With a pale complexion, she turned to Asher and asked, âAsher, why did
you hit Ginger, especially with Uncle Tim nearby? How many times have 1 reminded you? You need to
win Uncle Timâs favor and be on your best
behavior when heâs around.â
âBut Mommy, I canât stand her. I hate her for taking Uncle Tim away from me.â
Asher threw a tantrum, seemingly oblivious to the gravity of the situation.
Meanwhile, Mia and Timothy rushed Ginger to the nearest hospital.
Ginger was swiftly taken into the emergency room, illuminated by flashing red lights outside.
Miaâs anxiety surged as she turned to Timothy, her tone laced with an ominous warning.
âIf anything were to happen to Ginger, I would never forgive Luna and Asher. Your relationship with
them means nothing to me. Mark my words.â
