Chapter 7
One Night = New Life
Finals flew by faster than they expected and winter break was just starting. Midoriya and Bakugo said goodbye to Todoroki as the two boarded the train to go home.
"Deku, do you want to come over to my place for Christmas dinner?" Bakugo asked. "Should I invite Todoroki as well?"
"Yeah I'll come over." Midoriya responded. "Todoroki is already coming over on Christmas Eve to give me a present because he has family stuff on Christmas."
"I thought he hated his family."
"He does, just a little less than before. However, his family doesn't support the idea that he could be the father of my girl."
"Well, my mom didn't either." Bakugo began. "My mom was furious that I possibly got someone pregnant."
"Did you tell her it was me?"
"No. But I want you there when I tell her."
Midoriya looked out the window of the train. "What if she ends up being yours, and your mom rejects me?"
"We can worry about that later. I told you that if your daughter is mine, I'll take care of everything. Just focus on staying healthy."
Christmas Eve came later that week. Midoriya helped his mom set the table and cook food when the doorbell rang.
"Will you get that sweetie?" She asks.
"Sure." Midoriya sets down the last plate and heads for the door. He opened it to find Todoroki holding a large present in his hands. "Hey Shoto, come on in!"
"Merry Christmas.....-Eve." Todoroki said as he entered, setting his gift on table as he passed it.
"How are you doing, Izuku?"
"I'm doing good. Keeping warm. Mom's got the heater up all the way so I don't freeze to death."
"Like last time?"
Midoriya blushes at that comment.
"Okay boys, dinner is ready!" Mrs. Midoriya called from the kitchen. What she had set on the table was some formed of chicken casserole, steamed vegetables, white rice, and various other side dishes.
"Mrs. Midoriya, this chicken casserole is perfect. How did you know this is one of my favorite dishes?" Todoroki asked excited, yet politely.
"Well, Izuku may have mentioned that you like casseroles, and chicken is typically used for Christmas dinner, so I put two and two together."
"Mom! I told you not to tell him." Izuku said.
"Oh, I'm sure it's fine, dear. Shoto is more than happy that you suggested it."
The three continued conversing as they enjoyed their holiday meal.
After they finished their food, Izuku and Shoto went to the living room to watch a movie.
"I know it's Christmas, but I think that you should open your present after she is born." Todoroki mentioned. "And it doesn't matter if she is mine or his. You will still get to open it. Just, please wait until then."
"Fine. I can wait." Midoriya responded. "But you still have to open my gift to you." He reached in his pocket and handed Shoto a tiny box.
Shoto took the box. It fit perfectly in one hand. He stared at it, trying to imagine what could be inside it. After a few minutes of guessing, he took his other hand and removed the ribbon, and then flipped the lid on the tiny black box. Inside laid a silver round-linked chain necklace.
"I asked All Might to find someone to make this. The base metal has a very high melting point. One that won't melt by your fire. I figured whether or not you are her father, you will at least have something to remember me by, in case we go our separate ways."
"It's perfect. Just like you." Shoto whispered in Izuku's ear, as he finished placing the chain around his own neck. He then moved his right arm around Izuku's waist, with his hand landing on the baby bump. With his left hand, it took Izuku's chin and positioned it perfectly so he could steal his lips with his own.
"Speaking of All Might. Didn't you say his power will be passed down through DNA? Does that mean she will inherit your power?" Todoroki asked once their lips parted.
"Yes but it has to be given. I didn't want to give up this power just yet. I have to become the number one hero, just like he was." He responded. "I just hope she gets a useful quirk."
"Me too."
The next day was Christmas. And Midoriya was spending his evening with Bakugo and his family. To hide his bump, Bakugo told him to wear baggy clothes.
"So, Izuku. How have you been? Staying in school right?" Mrs. Bakugo asked as they ate.
"Yes, of course I am." Midoriya responded. "I am planning on taking a few years off though after I get my associates degree this spring."
"Yeah. And why is that?"
"I'm..." He looks over at Ka-Chan, who nodded. "I'm going through some rough changes. So I'll take a break until I get back on my feet."
"Katsuki, you've known that he is struggling?" She asked her son.
"Yes, mom."
"Why aren't you helping him? He's your friend. If you were in the same situation, he would jump to help you out."
"Mom, it's impossible for me to be in the same situation." Bakugo responds.
Midoriya and Mr. Bakugo both sat there eating while the other two argued.
"You think that you are so much better than him that you would never fall into that situation. I know I raised you better, so help him ou..."
"I don't think that at all, mom." Ka-Chan exploded verbally. "I am trying my best to help him but the truth is I am the one who put him into this situation."
"How could you do something to hurt your friend? You know the difference between right and wrong, yet you still try to play as if this was a game."
"Mom, shut up. I tried doing what I thought what was right, and now Izuku is pregnant because of me. There is nothing I can do to fix what I have done." Ka-Chan tried to cool himself, and eventually he started crying. "I'm sorry, mom. I should have told you sooner."
Both of his parents just stared in shock. Mrs. Bakugo tensed up, before slapping her son in the face. "Don't ever tell me to shut up, you hear?" She then gets up from her seat and embraces her son. She looks to the green haired omega from over Ka-Chan's shoulder. "Izuku, I am sorry that you saw us fight. And I'm going support you two all the way. Katsuki told me that he and another alpha possibly got an omega pregnant. I never imagined it was you, but hear me out. If he turns out to be the father, I will make sure he holds up his end in taking care of my grandchild. I promise you that."
Midoriya nodded in response. Once the evening became more normal, it was time to open presents. Midoriya went first and gave Bakugo a small box.
"This better not be a ring. I won't marry you unless I know that she is mine." He responded as he grabbed the box.
"Just open it."
Bakugo opened the box by using his quirk. The only thing that remained was two chain link bracelets. "What are these?"
"I had All Might find someone to make these for you. The metal can't be melted by your quirk."
"Wanna bet? I'll blow these to pieces."
"Don't joke around, I mean it." Midoriya says. "Now what did you get me?"
"Nothing."
"Really?" Midoriya responded, his voice sounded hurt.
"Oh calm down, Deku. Now here." Bakugo hands a small slip of paper to him.
"Is this what I think it is?"
"What you said you wanted to go someday, so why not go together?"
"Ka-Chan, you remembered?" Midoriya started crying as he hugged Bakugo.
"Don't cry, Deku." He responds. "I never forgot."
In Izuku's hands was a plane ticket to Hollywood.
