Good
Good, Not Perfect Lesbian Story
11: Good
Heather looked up and couldn't help but smile and sigh at the sight of Ms. Baker entering the shop. It was 5:45 and a single customer moved through browsing the boutique. Heather moved to Jane, "Hello again Ms. Baker, we were happy we could help you yesterday. Isabel has left for the day, if you give me just a few minutes I'll have the dress ready for you."
"No rush Heather," Jane smiled, letting her eyes settle on Heather's lips,"I'll wait." Heather's skin warmed as she stepped away to touch base with the lingering customer.
Jane was impressed with Heather's handling of the customer. Heather made herself available ensuring the woman felt welcome to spend as much or as little time as she wanted browsing. She smiled lightly when the woman exited at 5:55, thanking Heather for her assistance. Heather locked the front door moments after the woman left. She turned and looked at Jane who was patiently waiting at the counter. She was unable to hide her rising anticipation. Jane's eyes were sharp but also alight with desire.
Heather flushed,"It's so nice to see you again Ms. Baker."
"Likewise." Jane smiled, watching Heather's face closely.
Heather moved to the counter, she stood close enough to Jane feel the warmth rolling off her skin. Her heart was beating quickly and her breath was shallow and strained. "Would you like to follow me to the back Ms. Baker? The dress has been prepared, I assume you will want to put your eyes on it before I bag it up?"
Jane smiled, "Of course, please, lead the way." Jane followed Heather back to a small room, only slightly larger than a walk-in closet. The dress was hanging on the back wall. There were shelves and racks along one wall and a small countertop along the other where light tailoring and prep work could be done. Heather stepped through the threshold and Jane followed closely.
Jane looked over the dress. "It looks perfect Heather, thank you so much for your attention to detail." Heather nodded and quickly zipped the dress into a garment bag as it hung on the wall. When she turned Jane was just standing just a couple of feet from her.
As Jane moved closer to Heather she could see the woman's eyes widen and her body tense. Heather stood with expectant brown eyes and Jane leaned in just enough to drive Heather to remove the space between them and let her mouth crash into Jane's. Her soft, urgent mouth moved seeking and tasting.
Heather broke the kiss gasping for air, Jane smiled into her mouth. "You are a beautiful woman." She pressed her mouth against the woman's softly using her lips and tongue to gain a deep entrance that caused Heather to whimper.
Jane placed her hands on Heather's hips and shifted her easily so that the small of her back leaned comfortably against the counter. Jane pulled back slowly, and lifted Heather up on the counter and stepped in between her legs letting Heather's lips reach down to hers as she pressed into the woman.
Heather moaned and her hands pulled at Jane's neck and hair drawing her in. Jane's hands deftly removed Heather's shirt and she broke their kiss and moved her mouth to Heather's neckline dropping her lips to the the cusps of Heather's breasts as she worked to remove her satin bra.
After Jane freed Heather from the clothing on her torso her hand moved under her skirt and found that Heather's panties were damp with desire. She ran her finger along the waistband and easily slipped her delicate cloth down and off Heather's long, soft legs.
Heather groaned with urgency and gasped in need, "Ms. Baker, I've been waiting for you all day."
Jane smiled into Heather's torso and as she tortured the woman with her lips and teeth, pulling at her skin and hardened flesh. Her fingers gently outlined the soft flesh in between Heather's legs.
"Ms. Baker ... " Heather whimpered and her body vibrated with need.
Jane moved with precision pressing into Heather, thrusting deeply and purposefully quickly bringing her to an intense climax that rolled through her body. She felt great satisfaction in driving the woman to a state of sexual delirium so quickly. Heather fell into Jane blissfully and kissed her slowly and lustfully.
Jane pulled away,"Heather, you are a delightful woman, but I really must be going."
"What? Are you serious? Oh no ... you can't. I haven't had enough of you, I need just a little ... more." Heather was nearly begging. "Don't you need to ..."
Jane smiled into Heather's still reaching and wanting mouth,"Next time. You've given me all I need for today." Jane moved smoothly, straightening her clothing and lifting the dress off the wall. She kissed Heather lightly on the lips and stepped away leaving the woman stunned and wanting.
----
Jane arrived at Fiona's condo at 8:30am with the dress in hand. Fiona's first treatment wasn't until 10:00am, they had plenty of time to get ready and leave. Fiona looked up from the kitchen island and her coffee. She was still in the shorts she slept in and a loose, lightweight sweatshirt. She sighed at the sight of Jane who had her hair pulled up and away from her face today revealing the sharp blue-grey eyes, and full lips.
"Good morning Ms. Donovan." She smiled and moved with ease up to the island. "Given the nature of our itinerary today I dressed down. I hope you don't mind."
"Not at all," she gestured to her clothes and laughed,"me too!" Jane stood in the kitchen sharing the silence and a cup of coffee with Fiona. Fee looked at Jane thoughtfully and smiled. "It was very kind of you to pick up the dress. I could have sent Reggie over this morning, you don't need to spend your valuable time running errands."
Jane smiled with gratitude,"Thank you Ms. Donovan, but I don't mind running errands for you if it eases your day. It was my pleasure." Fee thought she saw a flash of laughter in Jane's eyes, but again it was so quick, she couldn't be sure.
Fee smiled, "Ok, thank you." She continued to watch Jane.
Jane smiled warmly, "Ms. Donovan? Is there something you needed?"
"I'd like to ask you a personal question. I know you may not answer." Jane nodded and waited as Fiona formed her thoughts. "Why is it that you think you are not a good person?" Jane's eyes widened slightly in surprise at the directness of the question.
"I guess I could ask you why you think I am a 'good' person Ms. Donovan. But to answer your question, because Ms. Donovan, I simply am not a good person. I'm not like you." Jane saw confusion on Fiona's face and she explained in a clinical manner. "I don't choose to see first, the good in the world. I do not devote any small part of my life to the well being of others simply because it's the right thing to do. I'm not sure I have that capacity."
Jane paused searching Fiona's eyes. They were particularly beautiful when she was deep in contemplation. "I have a moral compass, I understand right and wrong, and joy and suffering as concrete concepts. However, in my line of work one tends to detach oneself emotionally out of necessity, for survival, for ease, or because that void is comforting and routine." Jane softened her voice and eased her explanation. "I am in a boat, navigating the waters as they change and in the moment. I have no reference points so I am well suited to focus on the here and now. How can one live a life in that way, Ms. Donovan, without shores to care about, and also be 'good?'"
Jane paused again and Fiona still did not respond, instead her head was spinning with thought and consideration. Her green eyes were flooded with deep thought. "You, Ms. Donovan are a good person because you have reference points and immerse yourself emotionally into them. You care about the wellbeing of others, always." Jane smiled at Fiona and the young woman's heart to skipped a beat. "Because you can see and feel in other people the wonders and depths of humanity, you are devoted and passionate. I understand that you can do this with ease and that we desperately need people like you in this world."
Fee nodded slowly She stepped around the counter and stood closely to Jane but did not violate her personal space. Looking steadily into her eyes and her voice was sincere and level. "Jane, good is not just in intention, it's not just empathy, it's not simply in thought. Good is in action. Good is in discipline and restraint. Good is in all of us and just because it looks and feels different doesn't mean we should value it less." Jane listened carefully to Fiona's words and felt drawn into her calming green eyes.
"None of us is truly alone at sea. Sometimes we just can't see the shores of our 'origins,' our 'home,' or our 'future' because we are not looking. We are lost, so we chose to define ourselves by our boat."
Jane's mouth opened slightly and she stared in wonder for a long moment processing the reflections of Fiona realizing how insightful she could be. Jane felt her throat tighten. She felt an overwhelming urge to reach out and rest her lips on Fiona's mouth because she might be able to taste "good."
For the first time in Fiona's presence she had an unsettling feeling as if she were on the edge of losing control. Her mind spun and her body tensed in Fiona's presence. Jane refocused and nodded in thought, "Ms. Donovan." Jane's voice was quiet and professional, "I will do my very best to be 'good' for you." She shifted away, her body language tight and focused. "We should be on our way." Jane smiled softly and led the way to the car.
