Changing Waters
Good, Not Perfect Lesbian Story
28: Changing Waters
Fiona stood under the hot water letting it run over her body. She still smelled and tasted Jane and sex and she sighed with deep contentment. She wondered how long she could hold on to Jane. She wondered if she could get her to stay. Fiona emerged from the bedroom dressed in jeans and a summer top ready for a casual dinner. She found Jane already waiting for her, scrolling through her phone. "Hello again, Fiona." Jane smiled and her eyes sparkled with satisfaction. "Did you have a good shower?"
Fiona cocked her head in contemplation, "Yes, but I missed the smell of us almost immediately." Jane's eyes widened and her mouth parted in immediate response to the statement. Fiona smiled right back. "Where to?"
Jane smirked at her, "I'm craving Thai food. DC Noodles?"
"Perfect."

The woman sat in the small, busy restaurant watching each other eat. Jane focused on Fiona's body language as the diners and staff moved around them in the tight setting. She saw that Fiona wasn't entirely at ease but she could tell from just a few minutes of observation that she would be fine.
"Jane?" Fiona probed. "Can I ask you some questions?"
"Of course. Always." Jane warned, "But the same rules apply."
"I understand, Jane, always." She continued to eat while she formulated her question. "How many women have you been with?"
"Well, that's pushing the limits of 'out of bounds' Fiona!" Jane grimaced as she considered her answer. "My job is not conducive to 'relationships.' The last time I was at a point in my life that it was even a possibility was in college. And just because I could have a relationship doesn't mean I wanted a relationship." Jane watched Fiona closely and saw something pass over her face quickly. She pushed on."Over the years I have met my needs when and where a situation would arise and I could share a moment of intimacy with another woman. Some assignments have meant that I was alone for quite some time, others have allowed me to share in those moments more often."
Fiona grinned and laughed lightly, "So, you're not going to tell me."
Jane smiled and laughed with genuine release and delight at Fiona,"No. I am not."
"Heather?" Fiona raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Fee ..." Jane smiled. "It's not important. You have been the only woman to draw my complete attention and devotion."
"Okay, okay. What is it you like about women over men?" Fiona smirked, "I could guess but I'd like to hear it from you."
Jane smiled, she liked the question. "I like that a woman's gaze tells a deep, layered story." Fiona nodded. "I like the expressiveness of both a woman's face but also her touch." Fiona's eyes washed with arousal. "I like the softness of a woman's skin." Fiona leaned forward slightly. "I like hearing a woman gasp and groan in need and urgency just before ...'
Jane stopped and saw that Fiona looked flushed and tense with desire. Jane raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Perhaps we should table that question until later?"
"Yes. That's probably best." Fiona laughed at herself. "One last question. Is 'Jane' your real name?"
"I'm sorry. Out of bounds, but I think you know the answer." Jane's smile was soft and laced with regret.
"I understand. By the way, I loved it when you called me 'Fee.'" She smiled mischievously, "It was ... electrifying ... in that moment." Jane shifted slightly, her body responding. Fee smiled, "And I don't want to call out anyone else's name but yours. So maybe one day you'll tell me, so I can return the gesture."
Jane's eyes widened in surprise. She smiled back and her lips curled in a slightly evil smirk, "Game on, Fee." Both the women rolled in laughter and refocused on their food.
The meal was quickly wrapping up and Jane took a moment to redirect Fiona's thoughts. "Fiona, are you ready to hear about Mr. Stout and the company?"
"Yes, I guess it's best I know sooner than later." She said through a grimace.
"I think you're right. Here's what we know: Mr. Stout got involved with the Georgian Mafia and has a propensity for gambling and under age girls." Fiona cringed visibly. "He will be under a full investigation for fraud and embezzlement as it's likely he was using Micropath money to try to pay off the mob. He was about to get exposed by the company accountants so he stopped to try to cover his tracks. The mafia didn't like that and they tried to deliver a very serious message in a very public place, the Aquarium. Fee, there is going to be some very serious fallout at Micropath. They will need you now more than ever. We don't think you and your father are in any imminent danger, my contract will be terminated after your New York Gala as your father will no longer be associated with Micropath."
Fiona's chest tightened, "That's in 2 weeks! That's too soon!"
"Fee," Jane smiled softly, "you knew the contract would end."
"Yes, but I am just beginning to know you. I thought I would have more time." Fiona's eyes blinked and she felt a knot rise in her throat."
"Fiona, my contract continues for 2 weeks. I am charged with the same duties and responsibilities. Why don't we just take every day as it comes."
Fiona nodded, she was too stunned to argue. "Okay. We'll navigate the waters as they come."
Jane smiled, "Let's get you home."
