Chapter 2123 - If I Become Pregnant, I’ll Give Birth to the Child
The 99th Divorce
âWill she stay then?â Shen Luoâan wondered.
Shen Luoâan had already taken advantage of Shen Mantingâs amnesia to trick her into registering their marriage.
It had just been slightly over half a month since she regained consciousness. Her body had almost fully recuperated and now, she had begun to menstruate again.
âIf Shen Manting became pregnant at this point in time, I would never let her leave,â Shen Luoâanâs thoughts were racing.
He looked at her as this thought crossed his mind and his eyes glowed.
However, he quickly looked away and reached out to change the bedsheets to distract himself. âSure. But this isnât something that we can control. If you do become pregnant, surely we canât abort the child,â he said.
When Shen Manting heard this, she subconsciously touched her stomach and whispered, âWill the child die if we abort it?â
âYes,â Shen Luoâan replied. He then turned around and looked at her seriously before slowly stating, âUltimately, itâs still a living creature. If you kill a living being, isnât that the same as murder?â
Shen Luoâan spoke gravely as he looked at Shen Manting.
When Shen Manting saw his expression, she felt slightly terrified. She then asked timidly, âSo itâs considered murder if I donât want to give birth to the child?â
âThere isnât such a saying,â said Shen Luoâan as he placed the bedsheets down. âBut itâs a tiny living creature and it has chosen you. If you donât cherish it and even choose to abandon it, isnât it as good as murder? Donât you think so?â he questioned seriously.
Shen Luoâanâs logic was infallible and Shen Manting was momentarily at a loss for words.
She subconsciously caressed her stomach without saying a word.
âItâs just like how your biological parents abandoned you on the streets when you were young. Back then, if there hadnât been that kind-hearted person who sent you to the orphanage, wouldnât you be dead already? What your biological parents did was as good as killing you. Doesnât that make them a murderer then?â Shen Luoâan said.
Shen Manting could not help but rebut and say, âBut they gave birth to me. I have not even given birth to the child yet. Isnât that...â
âThatâs why you have to raise the child after you give birth to it,â Shen Luoâan had cut her off. âIf you become pregnant and are unwilling to give birth to the child, then how are you different from them?â he asked.
Shen Manting was rendered speechless once again.
âSo I have to give birth to the child if I become pregnant?â she asked. Shen Luoâan looked at her seriously and said, âActually, giving birth to a child isnât as painful as what you imagine. You have already experienced it once, so donât be afraid because you survived through it before.â
âThis time, I would be by her side. I would accompany her from the start until the end and I would take good care of her,â Shen Luoâan thought.
At first, Shen Manting was extremely certain of her decision. However, when she saw Shen Luoâanâs face full of anticipation, she was instantly swayed.
She looked down, in an attempt to hide her face from his overbearing gaze as softly replied, âIf... If I become pregnant, Iâll give birth to the child. If Iâm not pregnant, then Iâm not having a child.â
Shen Luoâan finally grinned and embraced her gently before planting a kiss on her forehead as he whispered, âOk.â
When Shen Manting saw how happy Shen Luoâan was, she instantly felt as though she was a lamb that had just entered a lionâs den; she felt as though she had just fallen into his trap.
She could not help but retort and exclaim, âIf I do not become pregnant, you cannot and must not resort to despicable means to make me pregnant!â
Her cheeks were puffed up as she warned him seriously.
Shen Luoâanâs heart turned cold but he did not say anything, pretending that her words had not affected him. He then hugged her and gave her a quick peck on the lips.
Shen Manting could vaguely guess something was amiss and felt strangely displeased.
She quickly shoved him aside and turned to walk away from him.
