After Chen Tao insulted her, he stormed out.

The moment he stepped out he was stopped in his tracks. There was a huge group of people outside the door. Haining, the assistant director and the scriptwriter were at the forefront, followed closely by Bai Feifei, Han Xiaowan and a crowd of other actresses.

All these people had overheard what he had said just now.

Seeing them, Chen Tao was shocked. He promptly turned around and looked at Tang Mo’er.

Tang Mo’er’s bright eyes landed on his face. A faint sneer played on her red lips.

Chen Tao realized that he had been tricked!

“Director Hai, I...” Chen Tao began to explain.

Haining stared at him with a piercing gaze. “You kept hiding Mo’er’s name during the audition. It’s because you wanted to bed Mo’er and use it to blackmail her?”

“I...”

Caught red-handed, Chen Tao was unable to offer any explanation. He had never imagined himself to be stuck in a situation like this.

Han Xiaowan was hiding in the crowd and her face went white, cursing at this lustful fellow in her heart. Couldn’t he keep it in his pants? All because he had wanted to bed Tang Mo’er so much, now his lust had done him in. All their efforts had come to naught.

Sh*t! Han Xiaowan looked around furtively. She needed to escape.

At this moment, Tang Mo’er walked over. “Yes, Director Hai. Producer Chen did ask me to go to the bar to drink with him.” With that, Tang Mo’er’s gaze landed on Han Xiaowan, who was preparing to sneak away. “He told me Han Xiaowan was already with him, and that she would definitely get Shangguan Man’er’s role. If I could learn from Han Xiaowan, I would be able to choose any role in “The Concubine”.

Upon hearing these words, the actresses started to whisper amongst themselves. Everyone looked at Han Xiaowan—-

“Goodness, I didn’t think that Producer Chen would be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s a good thing he didn’t have designs on me.”

“Did you all hear that earlier? Han Xiaowan has slept with Chen Tao! Chen Tao even said that she’s already been screwed rotten by men.”

“That’s nothing new. Han Xiaowan is famous for this in the entertainment industry. Everyone knows that she liked to bed other men.”

“At the audition, she even performed an inappropriately provocative scene. It’s unbelievable that she still can take on the role of a servant. She must have slept with Chen Tao many times to be able to take on the role.”

“To have such people in the acting cast of ‘The Concubine’ is simply polluting the air.”

Just as Han Xiaowan was about to slip away, Tang Mo’er directed everyone’s attention onto her and she was unable to escape.

Haining’s countenance looked dreadful. “We can’t have people like this in our acting cast of ‘The Concubine’. Han Xiaowan, scram and don’t come back! You are officially off our production.”

With that, Haining looked at Chen Tao. “As for Producer Chen, from now on, you are on your own!”

Chen Tao’s wife was a fatty. But the fatty’s father was the third largest stakeholder of Cathay Entertainment, and thus Chen Tao was assigned to be in the acting cast of ‘The Concubine’. Because of this connection, Haining did not have the authority to fire Chen Tao.

Stunned, Han Xiaowan’s mouth fell open. It was a dream. How could she be asked to leave? They had everything planned! Swallowing, she looked towards Chen Tao for help.

But Chen Tao evaded her gaze. It was evident that he was unable to save her now.

Chen Tao had abandoned her!

This was preposterous!

Han Xiaowan was filled with hatred. “Director Hai, don’t we have to settle another issue here? Tang Mo’er tampered with Feifei’s makeup base. Shouldn’t you chase Tang Mo’er out too?”

Hmph! Han Xiaowan looked at Tang Mo’er with an evil smirk. Tang Mo’er had used dirty tricks to chase her out. There was no way she was going to let her stay and get all the glory.

“Director Hai, I will not let the matter rest regarding Tang Mo’er’s actions on me!” Bai Feifei made her stand clear.

At this juncture, Tang Mo’er walked over. “Bai Feifei, listen carefully. I did not tamper with your makeup base.”

Bai Feifei snorted coldly. “Will a thief admit that she’s a thief?”

A curve graced Tang Mo’er red lips. “There needs to be a motive when committing bad acts. Why would I attack you?”

“Because you are jealous of mー”

Tang Mo’er gave a cold laugh before Bai Feifei could complete her sentence. “What a joke!”

Bai Feifei’s expression changed.

“I’m jealous of you? You may now be considered the top beauty of the “Four Beauties”, but do not forget that this is a position that was left vacant by me. If I was still around, do you think you would be here at all?

“And to think you still have the cheek to say I’m jealous of your face. You dare to boast about your face in front of me? I don’t want to put you down, but you are not worthy enough for me to do something to your face!” Tang Mo’er’s soft voice was composed yet forceful.

Hearing the provocative words, Bai Feifei was so furious that she nearly vomited blood. This Tang Mo’er was indeed sharp-tongued and could humiliate anyone with merely a few words.

Just then, she heard peals of laughter. The actresses were laughing at her secretly.

There was nothing she could do. It was true that she did not have any acting skills to speak of, and in terms of looks, although she was pretty, she paled in comparison to Tang Mo’er’s ravishing looks.

Bai Feifei clenched her fists. “Tang Mo’er, don’t you dare to deny it. You said it wasn’t done by you? Do you have any evidence? What’s the use of having a sharp mouth?”

“Of course I have evidence,” Tang Mo’er said.

Tang Mo’er walked ahead and picked up the bottle of makeup base, which had rose petals in it, from the floor. “Bai Feifei, this makeup base belongs to a famous international brand. You were the spokesperson for this company and did a commercial for them recently, and so they gave you this makeup base. The company even engraved your English name on the bottle, right?”

“That’s right.”

Tang Mo’er turned the bottle around. “But your name is not on this bottle of makeup base.”

What?

Bai Feifei was stunned. She promptly glanced at her manager.

The manager was also shocked. This incident had happened suddenly, and she had only thought of looking at the makeup base, but not the bottle.

Who would have known that this bottle of makeup base was fake?

“And so, this matter is very simple. As long as we find out where your real makeup base is, we will know who the culprit is.” Tang Mo’er smiled.

It hurt! Han Xiaowan was in so much pain she teared.

As she watched the scene unfold in front of her eyes, Tang Mo’er simply stood at the side. Her pristine eyes gleamed coldly in derision. She had not been in the entertainment industry these three years. Since they wanted to play with her, she would accept the challenge!
