Chapter 16
How My Ex Became My Next by Kirk Stanley ( Gilda Lynch )
Chapter
In the firstâclass section of the aircraft, Jensen took out the two rings that he said to throw away before.
Jensen hesitated for a moment and picked out the bigger one to wear on his finger. He had never tried it on before, but he didnât expect that the size was just right as if it had been made according to the size of finger.
But Jensen refused to wear the ring for three years with the excuse that it would affect his work.
If that happened to other couples, the woman would complain about it.
However, Gilda didnât complain at all. She was docile and sensible. She indulged Jensen in every way.
But Jensen didnât expect that Gilda would leave resolutely after they divorced. She didnât even take the wedding ring.
Jensen held the ring and played with it silently, frowning. He thought, âI saw your gentle, submissive side and know how resolute you could be. Which one is your true characterâ¦
The plane arrived in Geleston
Jensen went directly to the CEOâs Office on the top floor of Miller Corporation.
Dillan squinted and stared at the computer screen. Then he picked up the document given by Jensen to confirm the information again. He put down the document and said solemnly, âJensen, Iâve read it. Your company is indeed qualified for the expo.
Jensen raised his eyebrows. As he expected, his company was disqualified by Glory Corporation on
purpose
Dillan asked, âDid you offend Patrick, the CEO of Glory Corporation? The record shows that he exercised his right to veto your companyâs participation
Jensenâs face darkened. Dillan didnât know what he was thinking.
âI havenât seen him. My secretary has been handling things about this expo all the time. The previous report showed that everything was all alright, and we just needed to sign a contract.â
âThen whereâs your secretary? Let her deal with it,â said Dillan, fiddling with a pen casually.
Jensen unconsciously lowered his gaze to the floor, looking dejected. âShe quit.â
Dillan suddenly realized something. He said, âIt must be her who played tricks behind your back. She took all the resources away after her resignation, which made you lose such a big order.
âShe must have signed a nonâcompetition agreement when she joined the company. Sue her immediately.â
Hearing his low opinion of Gilda, Jensen, however put on a sullen face.
At this time, Lanny noticed that something was wrong with Jensenâs expression. He smiled awkwardly and

Dillan covered his with his fingers. His eyes were full of surprise. âYou are amazing, dude! Where

Jensen didnât bother to argue with Dillan as he knew that Dillan liked to joke with him. He had got used to
Meanwhile, Jensen had to admit that Dillan was right for one thingâGilda was really capable.
Jensenâs heart sank, as he realized that he had been always strict with Gilda. He only wanted her to be a perfect secretary, ignoring the fact she was also his wife.
Dillan stood up and patted Jensenâs shoulder with a teasing smile. âWhen did you get married? Why didnât I know? You didnât even introduce your wife to me.â
Although Jensen and Dillan were
good friends, they seldom met because they lived in different countries.
Jensen and Gilda were married in secret, without holding wedding.
Only Kylan Olson and a few friends at home knew that. Besides, they all somewhat looked down on Gilda as she came from a humble family. They thought that Gilda didnât deserve Jensen, so they never
mentioned Jensenâs marriage outside and regarded him as a single man.
âThey got divorced some time ,â Lanny blurted out. He regretted it but it was too .
Noticing Jensenâs sharp eyes, Lanny hurriedly lowered his head and blamed himself inwardly.
Initially, Dillan planned to joke with Jensen again, but he gave up the attempt when he heard that.
âItâs okay, Jensen. Marriage is the tomb of love. Divorce is the right choice.â
After that, Dillan sighed as if thinking of his own business.
âWhatâs wrong with you?â Jensen asked.
Dillan couldnât wait to pour his heart out to his good friend. âI donât want to get married,â bitterly.

âMy father has been urging me to marry the daughter of the family that runs GloryâCorporation. She was abroad before, so I had an excuse to the marriage. I heard that she returned home recently, and my grandfather began to urge me !
âMy father had even chosen a wedding date for me. He asked me to go home and marry that woman.
âI donât know how to get rid of this marriage at all!â
