Chapter 244
How My Ex Became My Next by Kirk Stanley ( Gilda Lynch )
Chapter
Dillanâs project plan was unanimously approved.
When the meeting was over, Gilda was the first to leave the meeting room, followed by Eric, who was giving her an update on his work.
As soon as they reached the door of Gildaâs office, they were stopped by a sudden volce, saying, âGilda!â Then Emily walked to Gilda smilingly.
Gilda was taken aback, wondering why Emily came to her. Since she divorced Jensen, Gilda had stopped Interacting with any member of the Harrington family or their relatives.
Gilda said politely, âEmily, what can I do for you â
Emily raised the box in her hand and said, âGrandma asked me to bring you chicken soupâ¦â
Gilda nodded, closed the file in her hand, and handed it to Eric. âJust do as you say.â
âYes, Ms. Lynch, Eric said before taking off.
Gilda then looked at Emily and said, âEmily, would you like to come into my office?â
Emily agreed and followed Gilda in.
Emily was impressed by the change in Gildaâs aura. In the past, Gilda had always been subservient and humble in the Harrington family.
Emily never took Gilda seriously, not even after she started working as Jensenâs secretary and somehow having a say as a result.
Emily felt under pressure how that Gilda had become the CEO of Glory Corporation.
Things had actually changed.
âGilly, youâve changed a lot!â Emily said the moment she stepped in..
âYou a job.â Gilda replied humbly. âPlease take a seat, Emily.â
t be kidding. Itâs
Emily sat down on the couch and then placed the lunch box on the desk. âTry it. Grandma specially asked me to bring it over for you.â
Gilda took it and said distantly, âPlease tell her I am very grateful. Thank you for bringing it here for me.â
Emily smiled and said, âYou donât need to say thanks. Grandma has long regarded you as her granddaughter.

Gilda didnât .
Emily opened the box, filled a bowl with the soup, and handed it to Gilda.
asked, âHave you ever considered rekindling with Jensen, Gilda? After all, this is Grandmaâs greatest wishâ¦â
Gilda took it and responded seemingly casually but firmly, âEmily, this is nothing worth mentioning again.â
Emily didnât believe it. âBut Gilly, Jensen still cares about you. You saw he was always the first to stand up for you just like he did on Grandmaâs birthday.â
Unexpectedly, Gilda changed the topic and asked, âEmily, are you in love?â
Emily subconsciously grabbed her clothes, feeling a little nervous.
She even stammered, âI⦠I havenât found the love of my life yet. I donât want to sell myself short.â
Gilda took a sip of the soup and said, âLikewise, I donât want to sell myself short either.â
Gildaâs words suggested that if she put the past behind her and rekindled with Jensen, she would feel wronged.
Emily felt delighted as she understood what Gilda meant.
She didnât want Gilda to bother Jensen.
Bringing Gilda soup was not Emilyâs purpose to come here today. She had more important things to do, so she smiled awkwardly and continued, âOkay! I apologize for bringing it up.â
