Chapter 337
How My Ex Became My Next by Kirk Stanley ( Gilda Lynch )
Dillan was quick to agree. âAbsolutely, nothing else matters to me.â
âBut I have a feeling youâre about to meet your soulmate soon, Gilda commented.
Dillan, taken aback, exclaimed, âGoddess, you must be kidding
Gilda, eyebrow raised, teased, âDonât believe it?â
âItâs not about belief. Itâs just⦠aside from you, itâs hard to imagine anyone else capturing my heart,â Dillan confessed before letting out a sigh, âBut your happiness means more to me than my own.â
This was precisely why Dillan had decisively left Glory Corporation, all to support Gildaâs happiness. His own happiness was secondary.
âIâve set up a gathering tonight. Would you like to join? Dillan invited.
Gilda was about to say no, but Dillan looked at her with such a pleading expression. âGoddess, do me this favor. Otherwise, my dad will have my headâ¦â
Gilda laughed. She never imagined Dillan, who seemed fearless, could actually fear someone.
âOkay, she agreed.
Dillanâs face lit up with joy. âFantastic, see you tonight then.â
That evening, Gilda chose a simple outfit and headed out. Dillan had chosen an upscale bar for the meetup.
Dillan was already waiting outside. Spotting Gilda, he eagerly waved. âGoddess, this way!â
Gilda followed him inside.
The private room buzzed with young men and women. They were all close friends of Dillan, and most of them had grown up together with Dillan.
They welcomed Gilda warmly. âMs. Lynch, whatâs your game? Poker? Blackjack? How about Stud?â
Gilda was open. âAny is fine by meâ¦
They got into a game of poker. Gilda wasnât much of a poker player but surprisingly ended up doubling her chips in the first
round.
Feeling awkward about winning too much, Gilda excused herself, pretending to use the restroom, and asked Dillan to take her place in a few hands.
Gilda left the room and walked along the corridor to the rooftop for some fresh air. She had barely arrived when she heard

A woman screamed, âAh! Please donât hit mel
âIâm sorry⦠pleaseâ¦
âStop, pleaseâ¦â
Despite the loud music, Gilda heard the pleas clearly and followed the sounds.
A manâs voice boomed, âThought you could run? Now runâ¦â
He kept whipping a woman, who quickly became covered in bruises and wells.
Pausing at the door, Gilda peered inside. She saw a group of girls, bound and terrified.
The screaming woman was marred with lash marks.
âYouâre ours now. Obey and earn, or face death. Try to run, and this is what awaits,â the man declared,
The others were visibly shaken, trembling with fear, none daring to make a sound.
Suddenly, the man started towards the door. Gilda, trying to hide, accidentally bumped into the doorframe.
Alerted, the man inside shouted, âWhoâs there?â
Gilda tried to flee, but before she could get far, several burly men emerged, blocking her escape.
