Chapter 31

Bought by the Mafia

Two months later, he had to leave home for a few hours. He didn’t want to go, but it was important.

He had placed an order for more men to watch over Danica and his son. Going over to his son, his heart swelled with love.

Leaning over, he kissed the tiny forehead, taking in his sweet baby scent. “You be good for your mommy while I’m gone. I love you, my son. You and your mom are my whole life.”

“And you are ours.”

He turned to find her standing there, watching them. She looked like an angel, and he could not understand how her body bounced back to the way it was before she got pregnant and gave birth.

Just looking at her, he got turned on, and if only he didn’t have to wait another month to do to her what he wanted. “Must you stand there in that short dress, looking so sexy? You look good enough to eat.”

Walking over to him, she put her arms around his neck. “There’s no reason you couldn’t. It has been two months, and I’m all better.”

“I know what you’re doing, so you can stop pushing your body into mine. The doctor did recommend waiting three months, if not longer. I will not make love to you until I know it is safe.”

She released her arms from around his neck and sighed loudly. “Ugh, what do doctors know? I know my body better than anyone else. Do you have to go out today?”

He walked up behind her, putting his arms around her and kissing her neck. “I would not go if it weren’t very important. You will be safe here. I have many guards watching over you and David. I will be back as soon as I can.”

“Will you be here when the electrician comes to fix the lights in the hallway? They are still flickering on and off, and I’m afraid that one of these times, they might go off and not come back on.”

“I will try to get back in time, but if I’m not, I’ve told Craig to follow him around and watch everything he does. He’s a good man and can be trusted. Next to Dennis, he’s the only one I truly trust to take care of my family.”

She turned around to face him, putting her arms around his neck. “Before you go, I want you to kiss me, not just a kiss but one that shows me how much you love me.”

He placed his hands on her shoulders and moved her up against the wall, pinning her hands above her head. His lips came down on hers; there was so much hunger in that kiss that had her moaning into his mouth.

He was like a savage in the way he was kissing her, practically sucking the breath out of her body.

When he finally released her, he stood back and smiled when he saw her chest rising and falling rapidly, her eyes closed, and her mouth slightly parted. “Does that prove to you how much I love you?”

She slowly opened her eyes; her heart was pounding so hard in her chest she thought it was going to burst. Her lips felt bruised, her core was throbbing and on fire.

She wanted him so badly right now but knew he had to leave. “Yes,” she said breathlessly.

Before leaving, he went over and kissed David on the forehead one more time. Shortly after he left with Dennis, a white van with the words ~Sam’s Electrician~ pulled up to the house.

It was the same company that did all the work for Dmitry. The guard at the gate stopped the vehicle and stared at the man behind the wheel.

“I haven’t seen you here before.” He looked the man over. He had a mustache and beard. His glasses had dark rims with extra-thick lenses. “Show me your credentials and your driver’s license.”

“I’ve been working for Sam for close to a year now. You can call him if you want to,” he said, handing the guard all of his papers. “Look, I just want to do my job and go home to my wife and kids.”

The guard looked everything over, and everything appeared above board. “All right, go on through.”

The person behind the wheel smiled, thinking this was way too easy. Glancing in the rearview mirror, she smiled.

For over two months after sneaking off the ship carrying oil, she managed to stay hidden from Dmitry’s men.

Hooking up with a crack addict and living with him, she stole his money, paying to get a fake ID and some disguises that, when she wore them, no one would be able to recognize her—not even her own mother.

It took weeks of planning, watching, and waiting for when they would need Sam’s company to do some work for Dmitry. Having worked for him, she knew every company he used.

Spying on the house, she learned the company was coming to do some work, and later, breaking into Sam’s office, she could get all the information she needed.

On the streets of Chicago, you could buy any weapon, and the addict she was staying with was able to buy a gun and a knife.

She had been planning her revenge for months, even while she was on the streets of Russia, being abused by her pimp who was making her work off what she had stolen from him.

But once it was paid off, she knew he was going to kill her. The problem was she wasn’t bringing him much money and knew her time on Earth was ending soon, so she had to escape.

She was street-smart and knew many people from the underground, and was able to get help from one man in exchange for sex. With a backpack full of snacks, he smuggled her onto a boat heading to America, where she remained hidden for over a month.

It was hard, and when she ran out of food, she had to sneak around and look for scraps of food in the trash when the crew was either above deck or asleep.

Arriving in America, she made her way to Chicago until she met the junkie with whom she stayed, only going out at night to gather the things she needed.

Once she got a disguise, she could move around during the day, and a couple of times, she saw Dmitry with Danica and his two bodyguards, but they didn’t see her.

It did her heart good to know he had a son—now all she had to do was get rid of Danica and he would then be hers. They could now be a family; she would have him in bed.

He would realize she was always the one for him. She understood him and would greatly benefit him and his business. That whore he brought home would only bring him down, make him weak, and she would make him see that.

Bepa had no problems getting inside; even that fool Craig didn’t recognize her. The idiot didn’t even pat her down to look for a weapon.

He just checked out the roll of wiring strapped over her shoulder and looked inside the toolbox but never bothered to lift the drawer where she had hidden the gun and rope.

She knew he wouldn’t since they trusted Sam and those who worked for him.

Little did they know poor Sam was lying dead in the basement of his home where he lived alone.

Craig nodded his head.

“The problem is upstairs in the hallway; the lights keep flickering off and on, and there may be a short in the wiring. Follow me,” he said, walking before her as he descended the stairs.

When he got to the area, he stopped.

“The problem seems to be coming from here.”

“I’ll have to go to the basement and check the box for faulty wiring. It could be several things.”

“All right, let’s go.”

When they got to the basement, she opened the toolbox while Craig looked on.

“So I’ve never seen you before. What’s your name?”

She pulled out the gun and, turning to him, shot him right between the eyes.

“The name is Bepa, you dumb fuck.”

Seeing him dead, she smiled and kissed the gun.

“~Thank God for silencers. Now, no one would hear the shots,~” she said to herself.

Dragging his body behind the stairs, she placed the gun back into the toolbox, and before going upstairs, she disconnected the wires to all of the security cameras and alarms.

It took over an hour, and she knew she had to work fast.

Now all she had to do was kill that bitch Danica, and Dmitry would finally be all hers.

Making her way upstairs, none of the staff stopped her.

Why would they? They all knew she was there doing a job.

When she got upstairs, she went to the nursery where she had figured Danica would be.

She couldn’t see who she was looking for there but could hear the baby making noises.

Walking over, she looked into the crib and smiled at the baby.

“Awe, my son,” she said out loud.

“What are you doing here?”

Bepa turned around and saw Tabitha.

“I can’t believe they hired you back; it must have been that bitch’s doing.”

Tabitha’s eyes grew wide; a cold chill ran down her spine when she recognized the voice.

“You,” she yelled and turned to leave, but then felt a blunt instrument hitting the back of her head, and everything went black.

Thinking the girl was dead, she dragged her lifeless body into the room next to the nursery and closed the door.

Now, she went into Dmitry’s room, looking for Danica.

Walking in, she looked at the bed, thinking about how she would have him remove it and buy a new one for them.

She could hear the shower running and sat down, waiting for the whore to come out; that is what she called Danica.

Danica stepped out of the shower and dried off; she put on the shorts and top she brought into the room with her.

She was on cloud nine even though the threat of Bepa was like a cloud over their heads.

The way he had been acting lately, she had a feeling he was going to propose; it was just a gut feeling.

Yes, he had always said he would never get married, but didn’t he also say he would never fall in love with her?

Yet here he was, always speaking and showing her how much he loved her.

She dried her hair and couldn’t wait until he returned, and she made up her mind that tonight they would start their lovemaking; she wasn’t going to wait another day.

Stepping into the bedroom, she felt a presence in the room, and for a second, she thought it was Dmitry, but seeing the outline of the body sitting in the corner on a chair, she knew it wasn’t him.

Turning on another light, she let out a muffled scream when she saw a strange man sitting in Dmitry’s chair.

“Who are you, and what are you doing here?”

There was something about this person she thought she recognized.

She stopped in her tracks when she saw the stranger pointing a gun at her.

“I’m here to take back what is mine.”

She watched in horror as the stranger tore off his disguise and thought she would faint when she saw who it was.

“Bepa,” she said, her voice cracking as she tried to stay calm.

“That’s right, bitch, it’s me. Did you think I wouldn’t come back?”

“Dmitry will be back soon, so if you want to live, you better leave before he arrives.”

“He’ll be glad to see me.”

“You are delusional if you believe that. He has no feelings for you whatsoever except for contempt. When he finds you here this time, he will kill you.”

Bepa jumped to her feet, waving the gun at Danica.

“You bitch, it’s me he loves, and it will be you he kills. He and I will raise our son, and you will be nothing but the slut who gave us the son we wanted.”

“You are nothing but a dried-out old slut—who would want you? He never loved you; he loves me, and I’ll never let you get your hands on my son.”

The anger rose inside her; she was going to stop this bitch once and for all.

She charged her, knocking the gun from her hand, but the woman had the strength of three men and had her pinned to the ground.

Before she could stop her, Bepa pulled out a syringe and stabbed her in the neck.

She began gagging, fighting the darkness that consumed her—throwing her into a pit of darkness.

She dragged Danica’s lifeless body into one of the other bedrooms, tied her up, and gagged her mouth with a cloth.

Time was running out, and she had to prepare for Dmitry’s return.

Opening the small bag hidden in the bottom of the toolbox, she took out a wig that matched Danica’s hair and style.

She changed into one of her outfits, and with the wig on, she headed to the nursery.

Looking down at the baby, she picked him up, carried him over to the rocking chair—and sat down.

She knew that none of the staff would be coming up here at this time of day.

Her plan worked, and she and Dmitry could soon have the life that was meant to be.

“I’m your mommy now,” she said, rocking David in her arms.
