Choices

'Here I am. Fully recovered. Maria has spent the last two months taking care of me. This woman is amazing. We've been together seven months and it's the happiest I've been in years. She's perfect, however, she has those moments where the Latin woman within just explodes. It's never really been directed to me but I have seen what it can do. I feel like this is so early but, I've made up my mind.'

"Nic come on we are going to be late and I know your mother will be upset."

"Ok, you know you act just like her."

Maria watched as the blond made her way down the stairs. The two months had passed fast. Maria had a fear, that Nicole said was irrational, that the older woman wouldn't be able to walk again. She admitted that she did over do the attention but, she loves Nicole so much that it didn't seem to bother either woman.

"Whatever you say Nic."

"I should start calling you mom. It fits better. By the way, I'm driving. You drive to slow." Nicole let out a slight chuckle until she locked eyes with Maria. She saw the glare and knew that she should stop while she was ahead.

"Your leg must be better?"

"Yup! I'm back to my normal self."

Maria laughed.

They were at Nicole's parents house. Maria was helping in the kitchen and Nicole sat with her father as he worked on his bike.

"Hand me that screw, sweetie."

"Dad, I want to ask you something."

Nicolas looked at his daughter, seeing her twiddle with her thumbs. "What is it sweetie?"

"I...I want to ask Maria to merry me. I know its early but I need someone to help me plan it. Mom talks too much and grandma well...so does she."

"Is this you asking me for help?"

"Yeah. Yes. I leave in two weeks for five months and I want to spend that time looking for rings and the day I get back I wanted a party for her. I'll ask, in front of everyone."

Nicolas knew his daughter and her player ways. He was glad to see furry finally settling down and excited that she asked for his help. "Ok. I'll do it."

"Don't tell mom. Please?" Nicole begged.

"I won't."
