Chapter 259 - Mu Qing’s Promise (Part One)

During the past few days, Mu Qing had received several small wounds over his body, on his arms, legs, neck, chest. They were either scratches or teeth marks.

He didn’t try to hide these “achievements”, because they made him feel delighted.

All of these were Zhao Anan’s work. She scratched him or bit him, hurting him everywhere. But he treated these as sweet nothings.

When Zhao Anan slept with him every night, she would struggle at the beginning. And then she would completely forget her resistance and start to kiss him in a blurry state. She would hold tightly to him and subconsciously call out his name when she was in the middle of making love to him.

During the past few days, he had spent the entire 24 hours with Zhao Anan and refused to be away from her for one single minute, no matter how much she scolded him or called him names.

He even rang up Zhao Zhao, who came to visit her daughter at the hospital and left in delight after seeing her daughter getting fitter and fatter than before. Zhao Anan blamed her for being cruel as if she were her stepmother.

Mu Qing didn’t want to treat Zhao Anan in this way, but there was no other solution If she could move an inch, she would definitely leave him without hesitation.

If Zhao Anan wanted to hate him for what he did, then she could go ahead and do that. As long as he could be with her, nothing else mattered.

Or maybe he should try to learn from Jing Yichen to see how he could turn a woman he had known for just one month into his wife...

He was so fast, much faster than Mu Qing who had not been able to marry the girl whom he had known for ten years.

Mu Qing looked at the two women who were whispering sitting in the corner, completely different in personalities. Then he gave the newly prescribed medicine to Jing Yichen as he asked him about the experience of marriage by force.

“Master Jing, how did you manage to marry Sister? Can’t you give me some tips?

Jing Yichen took the medicine and threw a calm look at him as he said, “Do you think that I will sell out my cousin so easily?”

Startled, Mu Qing realized that he had forgotten about Jing Yichen and Zhao Anan being cousins.

Jing Yichen was cold to everybody, including Zhao Anan. So it was almost impossible to understand that they were actually close. Also, he didn’t like it when Zhao Anan was close to Shangguan Ning so Mu Qing had never expected that Jing Yichen would take her side.

“Then what should I do so that you can give your cousin to me? I am your doctor, don’t you think that you should be a bit considerate?”

Jing Yichen said without changing his expression, “Well, it is true that I should consider if your treatment is worth my investment or if I should withdraw the investment...”

Mu Qing immediately showed his most sincere smile and said, “Hey, please don’t. You don’t need to consider anything anymore. I will prescribe you the best medicine so that you and sister can have a very happy life!”

Jing Yichen nodded. “That is good!”

Jing Yichen knew that Mu Qing was very nice towards Zhao Anan and that Zhao Zhao had always wanted Zhao Anan to marry into Family Mu as well.

But Zhao Anan was well aware of her disease and kept saying that she didn’t want to be anyone’s burden. She felt guilty of burdening her mother so much that she didn’t want to do the same to Mu Qing or his family.

He was Zhao Anan’s cousin. Although he maintained his distance from her, he always respected her opinion in important matters. If she didn’t want to marry anybody, he would support her.

Also, Mu Qing was bearing the entire hope of Family Mu and they wouldn’t want Mu Qing to marry an infertile woman.

Mu Qing was also very responsible towards his family and had a strong sense of familial duty. He had been getting ready to marry the daughter of Family Yang, Yang Muyan just for the sake of his family after Zhao Anan broke up with him.

Rumor was that Yang Muyan was a smart woman but looked extremely ugly and was always sick. Everyone who had seen her stayed away from her. Besides, she was a proud woman so she was still unmarried at the age of 30. But she was Lady Yang’s favorite granddaughter and half of the family’s properties were kept as her dowry. Therefore, many people wanted to marry the girl.

Mu Qing had once visited Family Yang to check up on Lady Yang’s health, when he ran into Yang Muyan who mostly stayed indoors. He had thought that Yang Muyan was hideous, had acne all over her face and looked emancipated and pale like a ghost. But Yang Muyan fell in love with Mu Qing at first sight and enjoyed talking with him very much. That drove Mu Qing off their house without finishing even the checkup.

But he would have sacrificed his own happiness just to develop Family Mu’s Hospital by marrying this horribly looking woman, because Family Yang once said that as long as Mu Qing could marry Yang Muyan, then Family Yang would offer presents worth billions of yuan, which could be used for the development of Family Mu’s Hospital.

It was not until when Jing Yichen invested in Family Mu’s Hospital that Mu Qing stopped thinking about marrying Yang Muyan.

But due to this, Jing Yichen was afraid that Mu Qing would give up on Zhao Anan for the sake of the family and hence he was reluctant about this arrangement..

Now, it seemed that Mu Qing had got even more devoted to Zhao Anan that he wanted to marry her despite the pressure from the family.

But this was just what he could see. What Jing Yichen wanted was a positive answer and a clear promise from Mu Qing.

“Mu Qing, does your family approve of your relationship with Anan? I don’t want you to play with her.”

Jing Yichen sounded cold but Mu Qing was not scared.

He hadn’t expected that Jing Yichen would ask him this question so fast. But he already had the answer inside his heart.

“Master Jing, it doesn’t matter if my family approves of my relationship with Anan or not. It is my decision and no one has the right to intervene in my marriage and my life. I am true to Anan and even ten years earlier, I was true to her even though I was immature. But now I understand clearly what is the most important thing. I will not give up and Anan will only marry me!” Mu Qing looked serious and sounded quite determined.

Jing Yichen broke his dream ruthlessly. “But Anan doesn’t seem so willing to marry you, and you are unlikely to ignore what your family thinks, especially what Old Mu thinks.”

Mu Qing got slightly pale but he said with determination, “What I can tell you is that Anan likes me and she is willing to marry me as well. Both my parents and my grandpa like her too. What they are worried about is that we won’t have our own children. But I will convince them, because I didn’t get together with her just for fun.”
