Chapter 395 - Interrogators (Part Two)

Lu had always thought that Shangguan Ning was the world’s happiest woman, for she was always sunny and outgoing, gentle and friendly towards everyone. She seemed like an aristocratic lady who had never been through any setbacks. She had imagined that Shangguan Ning was a flower that had grown in a sheltered greenhouse.

But that had not been the case.

Beneath her gentle smile, her heart was actually full of holes. Anyone else would have been tremendously affected because of such experiences.

But she had not. She still loved life and had remained kind hearted and optimistic.

Shangguan Rouxue was her sister and was trying to twist the truth by victimising herself and defaming Shangguan Ning. She must have done similar things many times in the past as well. Judging from Shangguan Ning’s calm personality, she must have been the victim many times before.

Lu felt that it was time for her to examine herself. She was sick only because she was not psychologically strong.

Shangguan Ning smiled and turned to Lu after hearing what she said. “I am used to it.”

She looked at Shangguan Rouxue who was trying so hard to explain to Zhao Anan. Then she sneered.

“Shangguan Rouxue has been putting up a show for almost twenty years, now. She is a gifted actress who fooled me as well in the beginning. But later, I realized that she was always pretending. She enjoys being praised as an innocent and kind hearted lady although she is a devious person. She has been successful more often than not in her attempts.”

After a moment of silence, Lu suddenly said, “You are way too soft hearted. Kill her instantly. You shouldn’t hesitate even for a second.”

Shangguan Ning shook her head. “Killing a person is not so easy. She might die but I will also end up being in prison. It is not worth the while to ruin my life for a woman like her.”

For Lu, human lives meant nothing. The reason why she was able to escape penalties after killing so many people was only because Family Jing covered for her.

Of course, Lu would still kill without Family Jing’s protection. She didn’t care about others’ lives or her own life. She didn’t even care about being alive or dead. She was alone and no one would shed tears for her even if she died. That was what Lu’s personality was like.

Shangguan Rouxue had used up almost all of her strength to convince Zhao Anan but she still remained suspicious of her.

“...You really don’t like Ning? Then why did you try to kill her yesterday, you and Tang Yun? Did I see wrong, or do I remember wrongly?”

Zhao Anan fiddled with the blade in hands as her finger glided over the sharp knife, showing a sinister smile.

Seeing her menacing expression, Shangguan Rouxue got so anxious that she sweated terribly. She wanted to curse loudly but what she could do was to maintain an innocent tone. “Anan, I am telling the truth. I was forced, because... because I need to protect my child. I just gave birth to a baby. How could I allow anything to happen to him?”

“Oh?” Zhao Anan was interested. She stopped gliding the blade over her face.

“You have a child? You don’t look like someone who has given birth to a baby. You look so slender!”

“Yes, yes, yes I did! Tang Yun and Jing Yiran threatened me with my child’s safety. They said that if I didn’t kill my sister, they would kill my child.”

“Nonsense, Shangguan Rouxue! I don’t even know where your child is. How could I threaten you with him?”

Tang Yun screamed. She was scared that Zhao Anan would change her mind and start to stab her instead.

“Don’t listen to her, Anan, someone else is supporting her from behind. I have nothing to do with it. I had many men with me because someone else had sent them along. I was fooled by Shangguan Rouxue so I tagged along. She is not telling the truth.”

Shangguan Ning, who was sitting not far from them, suddenly felt that Zhao Anan was worthy of being Zheng Jing’s partner. She was so good at interrogating. Tang Yun and Shangguan Rouxue had started to blame everything on each other, giving away information in the process.

But she didn’t know that Shangguan Rouxue had already given birth to the baby.

As per her calculations, only seven months of pregnancy would have been over by now. How could the child come out so fast? She couldn’t have used oxytocin to get the child out before he was mature enough, or did she?

Shangguan Ning thought for a while and decided that she could really have done such a thing judging from her personality. She was not only mean to others, but to herself as well!

Shangguan Rouxue would try to hurt herself so that everyone could suspect her sister. She had even jumped into the sea in order to prove her innocence. Triggering early birth of the baby was a small thing for Shangguan Rouxue.

But if she really did give birth to the baby, then Xie Zhuojun had become a father. She wasn’t sure if Xie Zhuojun knew that the woman whom he had been longing for, for so long had done such a deed.

Shangguan Ning would like to see the resentment on his face when he heard about this matter. But she couldn’t do that anymore because she had no intention of meeting Xie Zhuojun ever again. She had removed him from her life, completely.

Zhao Anan was very satisfied with her performance. She hadn’t even used the blade and these two women started to spill everything.

She would be victorious if the situation went on like this.

So someone was helping these two women from behind. Who was that person? She must be caught and tormented.

She had almost been frightened to death yesterday. She would lose her life if something so urgent and dangerous happened again.

Zhao Anan winked at Shangguan Ning. Then she moved a chair and placed it between the two beds. She sat down with her legs across. She glided the sharp blade over her face and said in composure, “Which one of you should I believe, when both of you are telling a reasonable story?”

Tang Yun and Shangguan Rouxue shouted simultaneously, “Me!”

Shangguan Rouxue explained anxiously, “I was definitely forced. Second Master said that if I don’t cooperate, my child will be dead. Second Master had sent the men with us yesterday. I am completely innocent.”

“Bullshit, Shangguan Rouxue! Half of them men were yours. Do you think that just because the dead men can’t talk, you can trap us? We can confront Jing Yiran together.”

Seeing Tang Yun getting so anxious, Zhao Anan put the blade by her ears and said with a smile, “Well, well, well, tell me your full plan from start to finish. Any more lies, I will cut off one of your ears and you will become a freak. Haha, and if your version is true, I will chop Shangguan Rouxue’s ear, sounds fair?”
