Chapter - 4

"I don't care who started it but you people should have been fucking careful knowing that the mafia ball is being held at our place and all the repercussions will come on us not them."

I yell at angelo making him bow his head in shame knowing what they all have done can cause immense trouble.

Every 2 years a mafia ball is held in which all the mafia which are there have to attend. It's basically to improve our relationship and strengthen our ties by getting a chance to form new geopolitical alliancs. It's not usual for mafias to meet unless the situation is very hostile the only time we do meet is on this 4 days event, it's a short event because nobody wants to be at a place where the other mafia holds leverage over you. Basically noone trusts noone but it is still held as 10 years ago a joint mission was launched by CIA and EU intelligence agencies aganist us. It was a fail but caused severe damage to the men working for us and led to loss of huge sum of money.

So this yearly ball is nothing but just a show of power to let them know if they can come together so can we and when we will come together they will not like the consequences.

I have been trying to get into asia for so long to break the monopoly of russians in that region and finally we are established in the south China sea but Indian ocean is still there which holds huge advantage cause it is situated at a region which makes a vital trading hub connecting middle east to southeast and east Asia as well as to Europe and the American continents to the region. I want to get control of it as it is very critical in terms of military and strategic engagement.

"Angelo you know this gives chance to Xavier to raise a voice against us and limit my presence in Indian ocean which I don't want to loose at all right now. He has really strong grip over that region already being the russian mafia, he have established strong relationship with southeast Asian countries."

"I know capo ( boss ) but his men were the one to instigate our men and when they started fight we have to fight back."

( I dont care about what his men did )

"You know how much rules I have to follow and make sure not to break them because I am the host this year." I yell at him

"I know capo and I am sorry this won't happen again."

"It better not as you know how much scrutiny is there on the yearly ball hoisting mafia and if anything goes wrong our position will weaken."

"Yes capo it's my responsibility now to keep a watch on our men."

I sigh also understanding their point of attacking Xavier's men when instigated but a lot is on stake right now.

"I know you all are angry and want to crush that fucker Xavier so do I but being a mafia you have to be able to think smartly in the situation. It's not all about who can beat who, it's who is intelligent enough to analyse the situation."

"Capo I get your point and I firmly belive everything you do will be for our good will."

He say looking more determined than ever of not letting the situation go worse again.

"Okay and where are all the injured men right now."

"They are at the central hospital and are under treatment."

"Hmm I will go there by the evening so make preparations for that and Xavier's injured men should be treated well."

I tell him

"Yes all of them are being looked after

They are getting the medical treatment before our men we won't let xavier sabotage us."

"Good"

"Boss can I ask a question"

He probes

"Yes ask away."

I tell him sitting back on my chair.

"Were you really sleeping that long cause its not usual for you. Are the medications finally working?"

As he asks the question I am reminded of that euphonious voice.

"Angelo do one thing very urgently ask Luca to bring our front door footage to me right now."

"What capo?"

He asks preplexed

"Yesterday I was having an anxiety attack again at that time I don't know from where but I heard a voice. Some girl was singing and it helped me not only relax but sleep as well."

I explain to him what happened

"Are you sure that is what happened"

He looks a bit reluctant to accept what I just said.

"I am 100% sure

ho sicuramente sentito quella bellissima voce."

( I definitely heard that beautifull voice )

"Sorry boss for saying this but why would someone come at your door to sing that is just pure stupid."

"I know and I don't think that person came at my door to sing for me but instead was singing at the beach and as you know how my house is well hidden under the thick canopy of trees it might have gone unnoticed by her I think it was a pure coincidence that I heard the voice."

"Yes it is well hidden and difficult to notice but no one native really comes at beach, tourists also prefer the other beach due to it's liveliness, besides we have coast guard to prevent any person from entering the beach at night as it is the time when the ships come with artillery."

"I know it's a secluded place that's why I decided to built house there in the first place as it gives me advantage to overlook the coming ships and get access to their working with the help of underground basement below my house but we all have been busy with the ball maybe a person or two have visited the beach without our guards being there to stop her and ships have been stalled until the ball."

I explain him my point of view.

I know he is probably thinking that what I heard was just a figment of my imagination.

"Actually the coast guard who have to prevent people from entering the beach was also involved in fight so it can happen."

He says still not completely convinced with what I am saying but believing me nonetheless.

"I swear to god angelo her voice was so beautiful that even my mind can't create such melodious hallucination."

I tell him dreamly while remembering that voice. It's etched in my brain

"Okay capo I belive you and will ask luca to bring you the footage."

.................

"Luca set it up quickly."

"I doing it fratello ( brother ) but what have gotten you so exicted about the footage."

"Can you just do it quickly?"

I give him a pointed look.

"I am exicted to see that girl too." I hear angleo say besides me.

"Which girl?" Luca asks

"fallo e basta."

(Just do it)

"Okay just wait a second. There you go fratello (brother)."

He presses ok

Intially there are few people two men, two kids and three women they seem like a family but they left pretty early.

Some time passes by, till now I can't see any girl.

"Fast forward it a bit."

Luca does as I say

That's when I saw a girl, her back is towards the camera while she is facing the sea. All I can see is her long black hair reaching her hips.

"What time is it?"

I ask

7:00 pm Luca replies

"She is the one."

"It was between 7:00 and 7:30 when I decide to sleep and ended up having the attack besides there is noone else other than her right now it must be her."

I tell them both

I see her head moving. She looks around her surrounding.

"She is looking suspicious to me."

I hear angleo say

"why is she analysing her surroundings?"

He questions

I ignore him and look at the video. Some time passes by, she is still standing there but there is no movement.

"I think she is singing right now that why she is still in one place."

Unfortunately there is no voice just video footage so we won't really know if she is singing or not.

"Okay even if it's her and she is only singing we haven't even seen her face how will we identify her."

Angelo points out

"I don't know but it is definitely her, only her voice can reach to my room from where she is standing any other voice will be too distant."

"I can't believe this you both are stalking a woman and making me indulge in this crime too." Luca says with an unbelievable expression on his face.

"Shut up luca fast forward it I want to see her face beside you are in mafia family we do much worse than stalking."

He does as I say with much reluctance but the women didn't turn around and suddenly started sprinting as if her ass is on fire.

She left and we didn't see her face.

"Fuck"

I curse anger coursing through my veins. This was the only way I could have seen her. Now how will I find her.

"That's weird she didn't even plant a device or something if she is an agent she is very bad at her work." Angelo remarks

"That's because she is not a fucking agent Angleo, she was just singing and after singing went back. Her sprinting without doing or tampering with anything only proves that she is not an agent." I retort

"Wait a minute Luca you were home too right you may also have seen her or heard her." Angelo asks Luca

I look at Luca expectantly

"No actually I was out." Luca says much to my dismay

"Luca you are always at home playing stupid video games and this one time you were suppose to be home you were out."

"Sorry fratello but who exactly is this girl who has got you so bothered." Luca asks

"She is someone very important who have helped me without even intending too. She cured me without even trying and brought me out of my fucked up mind state. I want her at all costs."

I tell them both my voice full of solemnity.

We are interrupted by a knock on the door

"Si accomodi."

(come in)

"capo è ora di visitare l'ospedale"

(boss it's time to visit the hospital)

"Coming"

I say exasperately and make my way out of the office to the car.

On my way to hospital all I could think about was that female and her voice.

I desperately want to meet her.
