Chapter 74 – Falling Down and Standing Back Up Again (破而后立)

Ye Qing only felt that she had completely lost her face, especially in front of someone she hated. She even felt that her menial amount of pride had been pried open and exposed, scattering and disappearing until none remained.

Aunty Ye still looked a little dizzy as she gradually regained consciousness. Her eyes contained a look of disappointment and despair, her willpower almost gone.

Turning from someone who was well to do to someone who was piled with debt after debt, she herself was unable to accept it but previously she had a reason to persevere. However right now, the reason seemed a bit far-fetched.

“What are your intentions?! Jing Yunzhao, why do you insist on crossing paths with me!” Ye Qing roared.

Jing Yunzhao looked at her provokingly, “Don’t you feel the least like you’re speaking against your conscience? I have never o?ended you, wasn’t it you who classified me as your imaginary rival and countered against me in every aspect? I’m already considered lenient towards you and yet you are asking me for my intentions? Don’t you find it laughable?”

“You keep asking your parents for money, but have you ever thought of how much you owe them? You think it’s a disgrace but the way I see it, having a daughter like you is the most disgraceful thing of your parents’ entire life!”

Jing Yunzhao wasn’t a saint, she has also never thought of using moral coercion. She just felt that one had to have the most basic amount of conscience within them.

Having lived with the Qiao family for fifteen years, Ye Qin’s attitude towards her was polite and estranged. It could be said that whatever Ye Qing had was what she could never even hope for. That was why she was so furious.

Aunty Ye waved her hands, “I’ve raised an unfilial daughter, I deserve it...”

“No one should deserve that! Aunty Ye, right now she has only hurt someone and hasn’t reached the point of murder yet. However if you let her continue on like this, it’s unimaginable as to what she would turn into in the future! You are her biological mother, not her nanny or slave. Today, if you leave her like this and let her trample over you, then you better prepare yourself for when she gets trampled on because of a mistake she makes in the future. After saying so much, if you still think that you did nothing wrong, then it wouldn’t be strange that your daughter became the person she is today!” Jing Yunzhao’s voice was sharp and cold as she looked at her indi?erently.

Whatever parents give to their child, that would be what they get back in return.

Aunty Ye had always believed that it was her own fault that Ye Qing was not properly educated. So it was a matter of fact that Ye Qing would believe herself to be the one who has been wronged.

Jing Yunzhao’s voice, every word and every sentence, was nailed deeply into Aunty Ye’s heart.

If it was in the past, she would just listen and forget about it. However, recently the setbacks she had received were too much, especially right now. Thus even if it were just a few simple sentences from Jing Yunzhao, it was as though they were carved deeply into her mind.

Her expression gradually cleared up. Ye Qing was only fifteen years old, she had not even gone through half her life yet. She could not let her remain selfish and self-absorbed for the next fifty years .

Pushing away Jing Yunzhao’s arm, Aunty Ye’s face was a little solemn. “You’re coming with me to apologize.”

Ye Qing glared at her, “I’m not going!”

Pa! In an instant, Aunty Ye had sent a slap over. “You will go even if you don’t want to!”

“Mom! I hate you! I want to leave this accursed place, don’t even think that you’ll see me again!” Ye Qing threatened as she screamed.

“Then leave! It would be perfect if you go! I’ll divorce your dad immediately. The future’s still bright, Mom will live better than anyone else without a burden like you! Also, if you steal any of the money at home, I will call the police the moment you leave and let them teach you a lesson on how to conduct yourself!”

Aunty Ye shouted till she was hoarse. Initially when she spoke up she still had a look of panic, but it was quickly hidden. Especially after she saw Ye Qing’s frightened expression, Aunty Ye believed that she had made the right decision even more.

Jing Yunzhao also had a look of surprise. She had never thought that Aunty Ye would harden her heart so quickly. But this was right, falling down and then standing back up again. If a reason is given to a woman as strong as her, she would live and survive without a regard for anything else.
