I was now a newly-wed bride!

I never wanted to get in this marriage fuss as I always prefer simplicity and saving money. Signing the marriage papers is the best choice, instead of celebrating a like anything.

It has pros too.

Firstly, it doesn't make you feel tired thus, saving your energy. Secondly it saves a lot of money. So, first of all, you should decide whether you want to save both your energy and money or want to get into a big fat Indian wedding.

Well, I was forced for the second option.

After entering his house, which was now mine too, my whole day went in resting and meeting new family members. While getting ready for the reception I heard a knock on the door of the room.

(ME 😁)

Divya was getting ready for the party and was helped by a makeup artist. Her makeup was almost done when she heard a knock at the door.

"Meri bachchi!" Kritika, her mother-in-law said in a loving yet cute way. (My daughter!)

"Aunty, sorry, I mean mom." Divya stammered and greeted her with a smile.

"Divya, you're looking so gorgeous, God bless you!" Kritika exclaimed in her high energetic voice, "You know, I have only one offspring and that too a son. I always wished for a girl. But if I had one, I had to send her off after her wedding. But now, I have a daughter whom I can keep with myself for the rest of my life." She said blithely with tears filled in her eyes.

"Why are you crying?" Divya asked.

"No. These are the tears of happiness. I'm really happy of my son's choice. Finally, he got a girlfriend in the form of wife." Kritika gushed and hugged Divya tightly. Feeling the tightness by which she held her, she quickly broke the hug. "Sorry, I must have ruined you're dress. Just let me check if it's alright." His mom said with concern and checked for any creases on her dress.

"It's alright mom." Divya assured.

"Aah! I'm not here for gossiping. Well, we both can do that later. I'm here to give you this." She smiled and forwarded a blue velvet box to her.

Divya opened the box and found a diamond necklace shining in its glory. Okay! She wasn't experienced enough to check the perfect quality of the diamonds. All she knew was that the necklace was expensive.

"This is our family's patrimonial heirloom necklace. This is handed to the daughter-in-law of our family. Nayan's mom gave me this necklace, or I can say I snatched it. Wear it, everyone is waiting to meet the daughter in law of Chauhan's." Ayaan's mom sighed and helped Divya to wear the Rose Smile.

Divya checked her attire for the last time in the mirror before walking out with her new mother.

While going towards the crowd, Kritika told Divya about the relatives before introducing them to her. "She's Ayaan's aunt and that's her daughter in law. They're good but have a nature to show-off. I would suggest you to talk less to them." She whispered to Divya and she nodded.

This was the first time she had to greet enormous number of people, being the centre of attention.

"And, that ladies group, they're your aunties. Good in nature but blabber a lot about their daughter in laws." She explained all their characteristics and traits and Divya took a quick note about all.

"Kritika!" His dad called his mom out and directed her to come towards him. She walked to him leaving Divya all alone. As Kritika left, Divya felt someone's hand draping around the side of her waist. She gasped and instantly turned back in surprise, only to find Ayaan's hand on her waist while taking to a guest.

"Nice to meet you Mrs Chauhan!" A middle-age man greeted her and she smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." Divya replied and felt Ayaan's grip becoming stronger around her waist. She glared at him and he returned a smile.

She could feel the tension between them but couldn't do anything as they had to put on a show for the guests, becoming all lovey-dovey.

The evening was spent in meeting the guests and acting as touchy as they could!

'My Goodness! This darn wedding night! I want nothing but to escape it. Why am I trapped in this? Someone save me. Wait, I don't need to worry as this is just a marriage for convenience but my inner self is just.... Aaah!' Divya thought after entering Ayaan's room which was now her room too.

She believed that she was a confident today's girl but a part of her was still nervous about sharing a room with someone else. Specially a man!

In the meanwhile, Ayaan was held back by his cousins who were all males. "So Ayaan..." His cousin Karan chuckled and cleared his throat before speaking further, "When did it all start? I mean, when did your relationship start and you decided to marry each other?"

"A month ago." Ayaan said after thinking a lot about the story he made in a minute, just to convince all the guests about how they began and ended up being married.

He never knew he was this creative!

"It must have been a hard decision. When I was in a relationship with Smita, we always pushed the thoughts of marriage. But, you know our moms. They are just eager to have grandchildren." His cousin Ansh blushed, thinking about his wife.

"Yeah." Manish, his other cousin nodded while sipping tea. "Well, Ayaan, how did you both reach the decision of marriage?"

"We were the childhood sweethearts in school. Then I left for States and we both were deeply depressed. Afterwards I came back and came to know that she's working in our company and then we slowly fell in love once more..... So that's how we went in an 'on and off relationship' and then finally decided to get married. Also mom was eager to find a bride for me, so I just proposed her and then finally we're here now. Happily married." Stated Ayaan to all his cousins.

Suddenly, his mom walked towards their group and cleared her throat. All of them looked towards her and shook their head in question. "Ayaan beta, what are you doing here? Chatting? Don't you think you've forgotten about something special tonight!" His mom glared at him.

"Bro you should go." Karan sighed.

"Best of luck and take the lead tonight." Ansh whispered while Ayaan was getting up. As they saw Ayaan's ears turning red, everyone laughed loudly.

Divya was bustling here and there in the room. Why wouldn't she? Everything was going so fast that she couldn't think about anything. It was her wedding night!

As she felt the door opening, she turned back to see the one standing at the door. Ayaan! Ayaan stepped inside the room and closed the door; actually locked it.

'What is he trying to do? Why is he locking the damn door? What does he want? Is he mad or insane? Does he want to kill me?' Thought Divya, all to herself.

'Let's play some games with her.' Ayaan smiled at his thoughts and stepped towards her. She moved four steps back and he moved five steps front, coming near her.

"What are trying to do?" She glared at him with her eyes widely opened.

"What do you think?" He asked and moved his face towards her ears, "We're married and it's our first night. What do you think we should do?"

Divya was on the verge of collapsing due to these sudden arrangements and high voltage drama day. And now, after hearing all this from him, she couldn't help but feel nervous and irritated at the same time.

"And, you know what, we have this whole night with us. In your words total seven hours. So, let's take full advantage of it." He said, nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck and pulled her close by holding her waist.

She couldn't control her anger and looked towards him. His eyes showed smirk while her's showed confidence.

Knowing what was about to come, she quickly decided to back up but ended up in vain due to his muscular hands which were holding her waist securely. She glared at him while he simply smiled at her.

He lifted her chin with his index finger and started to decrease the space between their heads, coming closer. As she couldn't do anything, she closed her eyes with the increasing tension between them.

"Don't ever think about it!" She warned, her eyes closed with pressure. He quickly loosened his grip on her and started laughing which filled up the silence of the room. "What?! Why are you laughing? Have you gone mad?" She asked in amusement.

"What do you think? I like you and would do all the things couples do? Look, I know I'm freaking handsome and no girl can resist me. But, that doesn't mean I'll let your wish be true!" He giggled holding his stomach in pain, which was caused by laughing continuosly.

Divya was irritated to hell. First, a big fat wedding. Then acting all lovey-dovey, and now this stupid pervert.

All she could think was giving a punch on his face and scratching him like a cat till he bleeds. But, she knew she couldn't do that as it would give another impression of how they spent the night.

'And that's how we men win! I should have captured her expression, it was so funny. She was irritated to hell and looked like a monkey who has constipation.' He talked to himself.

Suddenly he saw Divya pacing towards him. "First of all, I don't like you." She pulled his chest with her index finger and said. "And secondly, there are many girls on this planet who can resist men."

"And third?" He asked with his eyebrows suitably arched upwards.

"You're not handsome, freaking is far away." She taunted sadly and his eyebrows came down to the normal position.

"You!" He shouted.

"I'm going to change." Divya said. Before going inside the washroom, she looked towards every single side and corner of the room, noticing each and every detail. "You can sleep on sofa, I'll sleep on the bed." She ordered before entering the bathroom and then closed the door in a jiffy.

'What? How can someone order Ayaan Chauhan? How can she think that I'll sleep on the sofa when I have this big bed in this room which is solely mine? I have all the rights over this bed. Let's see who'll win in sleeping over it.' He mentally prepared himself to fight for his right; his bed.

She came out after changing into an oversized t-shirt and pyjama in half-asleep state and saw Ayaan sleeping over the bed. She was a sleep person, and withstanding an idiot irritated her to hell.

'Huh! This man. I want to sleep, but there is no way I'm going to share the bed with him." She made up her mind.

She took a deep breathe and got ready. "One.... Two....... Three!" She and pulled him but ended in vain.

"What does he eat? Hippo!" She murmured. After searching the entire room, she went inside the wardrobe, searched for something everywhere and came out pulling a mattress and a duvet in half sleep.

She was a sleep person and couldn't compromise with her sleep and the place of her sleep. So, sleeping on the couch was the last thing she could have done.

She quickly unfolded the mattress and laid it on the floor. Pulling the duvet upto her chest, and drifted into a deep slumber.

I'm not a sleep person, only six hours of sleep is enough for me. As the dim sunlight hit my sexy face, I quickly opened my eyes and rubbed them. Wait, I'm married! Where is my wife? She's not here on the bed sleeping beside me.

My gaze went towards the sofa, but I couldn't find her there either. Where is she? She's not a morning person who would wake up this early at five. Then, where is she? Has she ran away or...... Is she kidnapped?

No!

Who would like to take that overreacting box with them?!

Then where is she?

I got up from the bed and felt something soft touching my legs. I looked down, only to see Divya sleeping there without any care on her face, as if there is no tomorrow.

A smile instantly appeared on my face after seeing her.

If she was awake, she would never have looked so cute. The only expressions she shows on her face are the serious and smirking looks.

I quickly held her up in my arms, placed her on the bed and covered her with the comforter. Looking at her was the best thing I could do now as I knew this would not be possible if she was awake.

Finally, she's now my wedded wife. Wait! What am I thinking? I like to see her sleeping?

Aaaah!!!

We don't love each other! We don't even like each other's presence.

But, do I really love her?

Edit: I wrote the major portion of this chapter in third person's POV, just because I thought that 'something' might happen between them. I was too shy to type it down in either of the characters' POV.

Thanks.
