"Oh really? Then you should know who my husband is. He's Ayaan your boss." I spurted out in a hurry due to my well growing anger. You talk bad about me and I'll make your life a walking hell.
And then I realised what blunder I've created. Dug my own graveyard. How can I disclose the truth that Ayaan is my husband? Oh God!
Never in my life I've slipped my tongue, not even once. But today, how can I do this? What will I do know?
What more could I do? Just get ready to face the consequences.
"What?" They both crossed their hands over their mouth, "Ayaan, your husband! Husbaaanndddd!!" One of them was looking like she's gonna have a heart attack.
"Are you sure? He's so hot and you-"
"What me? Huh?" I shouted. They're acting like this girls in my school who always drooled over Ayaan all the time and called him hot.
Is he really that hot?
What am I thinking? This dream is gonna ruin my mind and my whole body!
"Well nothing. Don't mind." One of them said and they both ran away.
They're nothing but cowards. Running away from problems you've created is not a solution. Instead you should learn to face it and solve it from its roots.
Why am I standing here alone and whom am I teaching?
I came out and went back to my cabin. It means what Ayaan said was right. He already said that people would misunderstand us being alone for a long time in the same room . And that's what happened. Hats off to you Ayaan!! I always thought that you could think nothing but now you've proved that you're a long distanced viewer. You can really think about the future.
Why am I praising him? What wrong with you Divya?
And the days passed like this, being engulfed in work. Whole team did nothing but bathing in the pool of work.
One day.
Two days.
Three days.
Four days.
Five days.
Six days.
Days passed like this. Only I know how I've spent these days without my life's most precious thing. Sleep. I slept but only for maximum five hours. Don't ever think my precious is Ayaan. He won't ever become my precious belonging. Not even the weekends were free. Who would like to work on weekends?
But the thing I wonder is what happened to those ladies who were talking about me in the restroom. There is no news flowing in the air. Something is wrong in the environment. I'll check it afterwards.
And finally the day came, the day when sales of fresh designs would start.
Why am I feeling nervous? Because Ayaan is handling this project. This is the first time he's handling the designing department's new project. I don't know how it will go. Until now dad was the one who was the leader of all the departments. He did all the things professionally and efficiently.
This man is really making me mad. Don't worry Divya, everything is going to be alright. Just close you eyes and take a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
"You're really funny Divya. Doing standing yoga. Keep it up." I heard Ayaan giggling and quickly opened my eyes. He's the only man who can have a ice-chilled mind during a tight schedule.
"I'm not doing yoga. When did you enter my cabin?" I asked.
"This is my office. I can go wherever I want. You don't have to ask it." He smirked and sat on my glass table, not before swaying away all my documents on the floor.
Will floor check these documents? This man is really a big blunder.
"May I ask who'll tidy up all the mess you've created?" I asked, "These are confidential documents." I was really disgusted by his tactics.
"Don't worry it'll be done." He said, which means that he'll pick it, "You can pick them up afterwards." He said. What? Throwing away my documents and then saying that I'll pick them up.
Could I get a hammer to beat him?
No?
Then I'll go and get one.

A week has passed in completing the work. And I'm shocked that this time is passed. I've done it. Just the results are left and then I'll prove Divya that I'm not a loser but a winner. I can pass tests of life and business. I agree that I was a little immature back then but if not in childhood then when. Divya is totally an exception. She was had a serious mind from the time I know her. From the time we were four. Which parent wants a child who's not even cute?
So today is the day when we'll start the sales of this year's fresh designs. I just wish it goes alright. Not alright but great. I want to prove everyone that I can be good in a sector. Just finish this project and then I'll work upon the hotel deal.
A CEO has negligible personal time. Just work, work and work.
So to lessen my mind's burden, I went to share it with Divya. You know she's always in her work mind, even if I share some of my burdens with her she'll be the same.
Divya literally is one of a species. I'm the only one who got this person from different type of mind. You can't order her anywhere, so don't even try. This speciality runs in their family. I wonder how Mumma handled dad. Whole family is business minded.
I entered her room without her knowledge while she was engulfed in her breathing exercises. I threw away all her files from the table to gain her attention and sat on it to relax my body. When I see her getting irritated, my body soothes by its own.
Don't hate me for my thoughts!
She's same too...!
She also loves to fight with me and curse me....!!
She loves it when I'm sad and gloomy......!!!
If someone could read her mind they'll know how much she curses me. She curses me 24/7, and I know it. She must be cursing me now too.
"May I ask who'll tidy up all the mess you've created?" She asked, "These are confidential documents." Her face was serious as usual while I was giggling from inside.
"Don't worry it'll be done." I assured her, "You can pick them up afterwards." And then broke her assurance. She was in her proper fight mode. Just one more sting and she'll lose her patience.
She rolled her eyes. She rolled her eyes on me?
Me?
Me!!
The great Ayaan Chauhan!!
Don't worry, I'm used to it.
And then she sat and continued her work ignoring me. Only she can ignore me. No girl is such a fool. How can a girl ignore this hot, handsome, smart and intelligent man? When I see her past, she never was in a relationship with any boy. Could it mean that she's interested in girls.
No. She wasn't even that close to girls too. That's why I call her one of a species. Totally different from others. Only a single piece in trillions.
After sitting there for almost ten minutes I saw her closing her PC and getting up. "What happened?" I asked.
"It's about time to start the online sales. I need to check some things too. I knew it. You totally forgot about the project." She moved out and I followed her. We reached the conference room not before everyone else. Everybody was already present there and I was the late one this time.
Why do I have to worry when I'm the CEO and to be owner of this company. No one can dare to raise their voice on me.
"So let's start the countdown. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One." Immediately the key was pressed to start this year's online sales. Now we can only wait for the outcome.
Till then I've to work on new hotels project. Good things comes with the bad ones. People think that being the inheritor of this conglomerate my life would be in its best form but what they don't see is the energy and time I have to spend in managing it.
"We've completed this project. But this doesn't mean that you can rest. We have more to conquer. Remember the New Era Contest." Said Aman, the manager of designing department.
Sometimes I wonder if he's being too close to Divya. Work is alright but still I need to worry. She's my wife and it's my duty to keep all the demons away from her.
Everything is so changed now. Those nine years I spent away from my country is the only thing I regret but it was necessary too.
Everybody was happy and contented after completing the project. It's my first time in a major project with them. I completed my internship in companies in States but working in your own country feels something else. I spent a lot of my time away from here but now I want to make up for every moment.
I remember once teacher told me that I won't be able to do anything in my life. Why? Because of my declining marks.
(Flashback)
The result day of mid-term exams finally arrived. Am I the only one who doesn't want to face this day?
After seeing my score from the community results board it was obvious that I attained last position in class. All because of the students in my school who never fail.
And the first one was Divya. Not a surprise.
But the thing is I learnt so hard for this exam but still I'm the last one. What could have happened? Have I done any mistake? I can know it only after seeing my paper.
I was walking back when I saw Divya. I know that she wouldn't have forgotten how I teased her this morning and called her fat piglet.
Now Divya would tease me. Petty me. I have to stay away from that piggy. No she saw me. I'm gone for sure. I have to show her that I fine. Smile my face. Smile.
And now she starts her non sensible chatter box. "How are you Mr Ayaan? I heard you got the last position in class. Pretty sad. Well that doesn't matter, you're always last. Nothing's new." How can someone taunt me? Such a stupid. But now I've to show her that I'm alright.
But before I could say something she started once more, "I really pity you. You should study more. You know now-a-days we have tuitions. You can opt for one. Well what about your parents. You would get a tight slap and a lecture for one hour. That's so sad."
It's my fault that I'm hearing her. If there would be someone else then I would have beaten him so that he could not speak. But she's a girl. Okay relax. Take it easy.
So lets take a stand for yourself, "You don't have to take care of me. I'm really fine. And also you should take care of yourself. See how fat you are. You should exercise daily. Because, if you die then I have to come to your funeral and I would have no one who could make me understand that I'm so handsome. You know." I know I've irritated her to the extremes.
She's so irritated. Let's move from here.
I quickly moved towards the class before she could say something else.
But she's just what I thought. While walking through the class corridor I saw that girl shouting that I came last. This girl is insane.
Leave it, let's move out of the class Ayaan. You can't mess up with her right now.
But I can't be out of the class for a long time so I decided to go back. I just reached the class and sat quietly on my seat. And in a minute or so, the class teacher entered inside class.
Everyone was satisfied after seeing their hard work but I wasn't. I prepared so hard this time, but still I came last.
"Ayaan. Come to staff room." The teacher called and I stood up with my answer sheets.
My luck is not with me today.
"May I ask how can you score such less marks? Everytime only you! But why? Why isn't it someone else?" After reaching staff room, teacher sat on his chair and was visibly angry.
"Sir but I studied a lot. How could I know why am I not getting good marks? If I knew then I must have improved." I murmured lowering my face.
"You children are all same. You all don't even have manners. You should learn manners from your classmates." He started scolding me. "See. I'm not your enemy. I'm just helping you to reach your dreams. If you continue being like this then I'm sure you won't be able to do anything in future." He became a little calmer this time.
"Sir, I want to say something." A girly voice came from my side. It was Divya, who entered inside without anyone's knowledge. The teacher just hummed and she started, "Actually you haven't added the marks of these questions in my paper." She said showing her papers.
"Oh okay. I'll check it." He took the papers from her and started counting the marks again. "See her Ayaan. Learn something from her. I'm waiting for the day when you'll come to me for corrections. Atleast try to write something meaningful in your paper." He taunted me.
From the corner of her eyes I saw her smirking. She really is enjoying my melancholic situation.
"Sir, this answer is correct." Divya almost shouted after peeking at my answer sheets. He instantly took sheets sheets from my hands and cross checked the question and it's answer.
"It's correct. Atleast you wrote something right this time." He said.
"Sir you should check whole paper. Maybe his other answers are correct too." She insisted him. Why is an enemy acting strange?
He checked my papers once more and finally looked into my eyes.
"You cheated!" He said.
"No sir, I haven't cheated." I was shocked by his statement. I truly haven't checked this time. I'm innocent. Someone save me from the beast.
"But your answers are similar to Akash's. And he sat in front of you. What more proof is needed? I'll call your parents now. Let them know what their child has done." She shouted.
"But sir I-" I was cut in between by Divya.
"He hasn't cheated." She boldly stated. Why is she taking my side?
"How are you so sure about it?" He raised his left eye brow.
"While writing an exam, we students can clearly spot who's cheating and who's not. That's an inbuilt feature in students." She said. But once more, why is she taking my side?
"I believe your words as I know that you both are enemies and foes don't take their foes' side. This time I'm leaving you Ayaan, but if I come to know that you've cheated then I won't leave you." He warned and finally gave my paper back after checking it.
We both started to leave. "Wait a minute Divya! It means that you know all the students who had cheated, right?" He asked when we both were on the bridge of crossing the door.
"Aa..aa." She chuckled like a person whose lie has been caught, "Well sir....I need to do some work. I'll get going." She said and ran away fastly. Who would want to pick up fight with their classmate and get in their enemy zone??
She did the right thing by running away. But why did she help me?
I ran fast and reached her, "Why did you help me?"
"Because I can't see something wrong. I knew you didn't cheat so I helped you. If there was someone else I would have done the same." She said and left.
She left but her thoughts still can't leave my mind.
Today grew respect for her inside my mind!!
And maybe liking too!!
(Flashback ends)
The week is over. Should I let them disclose the truth now.
I knew Divya won't tell everyone about us being married and neither would she allow me to do so. But I have my own ways.
So I instructed my secretory to partially disclose the truth among some gossip women. By partially I mean the thing about us being alone in same room. I did this because I knew how a flame-small gossip can change into a fire-big scandle.
I called both the ladies and warned them not to disclose it to anybody for this whole week otherwise they'll lose their job and they did what I said. They remained quiet for the time being.
Now the wait is over Mrs Chauhan. Be prepared to handle the surprise!
