Mid-October

Cambridge University, England

A new girl's POV.

Finally I am here, my dream to peruse honours in psychology in the world class University of Cambridge is coming true.

This feeling is so new to me, I feel free I feel like flying in the sky. Fly high in my very own sky.

But their is a problem, Alas life is not all rainbows and Sunshines.

Most people I encounter here are rude and mean, I have not found a single genuine soul whom I can make friends with.

Throughout my school life I was the topper of the batch but I didn't realised that while being "the topper" when I became more distant to my classmates. That I didn't even get one bestfriend throughout my school life.

And than I thought that maybe I will make that one friend here, at the University.

But their is no single good soul.

I surely didn't get Friends here in the last 15 days as the intake session of the University started on 1 October, but I surely have got some bullies.

They just like to pick up on me because of my silent nature and my ......... Race.

Yes I have to face racism too. Being a girl from india who doesn't have any friend yet I guess I am an easy target for them.

"Krishnaji please send me a friend like you." I muttered while looking at the wallpaper of krishna on my phone.

But I guess Krishnaji Heard wrong as the nightmare of my life, a jerkish jock whose been picking on me since my first day was coming towards me.

"Krishna I asked for a friend like you. Not this Kansa." I muttered while that bloody jerk came and stood just infront of me. (Kansa was a half demon half human villian whom lord Krishna killed.)

"Hey girlly, missed me I bet you did." He had that stupid grin over his face.

"Leave me alone." I said in a small voice.

"Ooh ok I will. But before that how about we have some fun together." As he finished his sentence his group of other jocks like him wolf whistled.

And all gave high fives to eachother.

Before I could say anything a figure emerged out of nowhere and stood directly infront of me.

Another Indian girl who was a good 5;7 tall stood infront of me. Her back facing those jocks, she gave massive tomboy Vibes with her walking and standing style.

And she said.

"Babe you still here. Come lets go our brother is waiting outside and you know right being the chief inspector of metropolis he hardly gets any time and here you are wasting it." She was speaking loudly.

Loud enough for everyone to hear clearly. While I was confused, who was this girl and who was this police inspector brother. What the hell was happening.

Suddenly she winked at me and turned towards the bullies.

"Ooh are they the ones who were troubling you. Because if they are than brother has told me to just get their names to him and than he will definitely take care of them lawfully. You know mental harrasment is a serious crime." She raised an eyebrow at them.

While the other party did looked intimidated.

"No, we are not bothering her. We were just trying to be friendly with her. Nothing else. I think now we should get going." With that they slowly went from their while that girl was following their every move.

"Hey thankyou for helping me. You helped me even though you don't know me it really means a lot." I thanked her genuinely as no one showed this level of kindness to me since I have arrived in U.K.

"Rehmaat Kaur Brar." She said with a wide smile adoring her face.

Their was something about her smile. Something Contagious , Because of which a smile formed on my lips too.

"Huh I didn't understand?" I asked because I really didn't get what she was trying to say.

"I am Rehmaat Kaur Brar and you are?" She asked in return.

"Shubhi, Shubhi Jain." I introduced my self.

"See their Lucky now we are no strangers and I have Also given you a nickname that means you are my friend now, that's if you are fine with it?" She ranted.

I am amazed with the energy this chatterbox have.

"Ya sure why not Charmi, does that ring a bell. I mean we can be lucky charm together." I don't know why I said that. But the vibe this girl was emitting made me say that.

"Hell ya Miss.Lucky now you have signed the contract to Rehmaat's life time friendship." She said grinning.

But her grin was a good kinda grin not like the bad kinda grin.

"But charmi, don't you fear getting your trust broken. I mean this world is a bad place with very less hope." I said genuinely curious to know her point of view on this thing.

"You know Lucky I have a story to tell. Maybe than I will be able to tell you my point of view so If you are comfortable my dorm building is near by. We can go their and I had ordered some really good indian food so we can enjoy it together and I can tell you the story what say?" She asked and with that I knew maybe just maybe I have got myself a true friend.

***********

So charmi's dorm was, though small, but really cozy and well settled. I was surprised to see her dorm so well decorated while I was still struggling to put everything in order.

"Wow, your dorm is so well settled. You have some talent in interior design." I complimented her

"It's all settled thanks to someone else. Actually my brother has a friend living in London. He is some big shot lawyer and entrepreneur so he had got it covered for me." She told me honestly while placing the cutlery on the bed.

"So the story you were talking about?" I asked her as I made myself home and she served us both.

"Ok so I belong to Amritsar in Punjab." She took a pause for me to speak

"Ooh I am from Mumbai, Maharashtra." I told her taking the sign.

"So one day we were going to the golden temple to pray. And their an old man was asking for money.

He was saying that I have lost my purse and I don't have any money with me now. So please give me some money as I want to head back home.

But no one was helping him as they thought he must be lying.

But than my Grandfather went to him and gave him the money. The stranger asked him that do you really trust me that I am not lying.

Than my grandfather replied I don't know if you are telling the truth or not but even if by one percent you are telling the truth and I didn't helped you than my God will never forgive me in form of my conscience.

To which the stranger said but what if I am indeed lying.

Than my grandfather Said than you will have to deal with the almighty himself and your conscience.

Saying this he patted the stranger's shoulder and we went inside.

After 2-3 hours we came back outside and their right at the same palce stood the man.

He slowly came towards my Grandfather, gave the money back and said

I have seen a human with humanity after ages and I don't have the courage to lie to the man whose conscience has the traces of God himself.

And I don't have the courage to face the almighty's warth after hurting a pure soul.

I am sorry, I will never repeat it again." With that she took a pause and looked at me directly in my eyes.

As if looking into my soul.

"And that day I learnt help everyone because the god who resides in your heart in the form of your conscience will give you internal peace and peaceful sleep if you will have trust and faith in humanity.

And after that if anyone one will hurt such a person or will break the trust. Than he/she will have to answer the almighty himself on the cost of their peace and conscience.

You will only get a little hurt. Nothing a strong person like the one who have strong faith can't bear." She paused to give a smile.

"And you yourself Said that this world is a bad place with very less hope.

Than maybe people like me are the less hope if we also stopped keeping faith than this world will indeed become a hopeless place."

While I knew krishna ji had heard my prayer.
