Bai Shaoming stepped forward and grabbed her hand, yanking her back so that Song Xiaotong’s body crashed onto the desk.

“Stay out of other people’s affairs. You’re not going anywhere today, stay home.”

The elevator took him to the underground parking lot. Ruan Tianling drove to a private airport at a high speed, vowing to catch Jian Yufei in the shortest time possible.

Jian Yufei found a car, and took Grandma Xue back home, helping her into her bedroom, and asking her to take a lie down.

“Grandma, is there anything you would like to eat now? I can make it for you,” she asked.

Grandma Xue lay in bed and guiltily said, “Your plans must have been disrupted. I’m okay, you go ahead tomorrow. You don’t need to look after me.”

“How can I leave like this? It’s the same if I leave a few days later.”

“The doctor performed acupuncture on me. I’m much better now, I’ll be fine alone. Don’t put me before your own things.”

Jian Yufei smiled, “I have a lot of time. I’m pretty free even when I leave, so I might as well stay for a few more days.”

Grandma Xue broke out into a smile. “Fine then, you can stay here as long as you want.”

“Okay. Grandma, I’m going to make you some food now.” Jian Yufei got up and left the bedroom, her heart slightly bitter.

Grandma Xue was always alone and probably feared solitude, which was why she had always hoped Yufei could stick around. This must have been why she enjoyed the company of Gong Shaoxun and his friends visiting her every day.

Suddenly, a shadow flashed outside the yard, waving forcefully towards her. At the same time, the phone in her room began to ring.

Jian Yufei tensed up and turned around, rushing to answer the phone.

“Miss Jian, get out quickly, Ruan Tianling is here!”

Jian Yufei’s eyes widened. Without a second thought, she slipped on her shoes, grabbed her bag which was always ready to go, and dashed downstairs.

She ran out of the yard and had her wrist grabbed by a bodyguard. “Follow me!”

With her heart pounding, Jian Yufei followed him and asked nervously, “How did Ruan Tianling find out?”

“No idea, but today we were informed that a helicopter arrived here. We investigated and found out he’s the one who came. He might have already found your whereabouts and will be here soon.”
