Stolen Moments
Up in the Stars
Lots of fluff in this chapter!
Happy reading!!

His lips pressed urgently against her own, his fingers dancing down her spine.
Enid gasps against his mouth as his knee brushes the apex of her thighs.
The cold surface of the wall at her back a contrast to the ever-burning furnace of his body.
His hold on her hands releases and she runs them through his hair, over the sharp ridge of his jaw.
Stubble rough against her fingertips.
"Daddy." Her voice is shaky with need.
"Tell daddy what you want, kitten." The deep octaves of his voice raising goosebumps along her arms.
She shifts against the pressure of his knee, desperate for friction.
Desperate for more. More.
More. More. More.
Her sharp pants fill the room as he carves a path down her neck, open mouth kisses hot on her cool flesh.
His knee is moving against her, and she falls completely against the wall.
She is aching, aching for him.
A ringing noise registers in the back of her mind and her eyes flutter open.
Theodore is staring down at her, his dark hair messy from her fingers.
His lips swollen; ocean eyes dark with desire.
Glasses slightly askew on his face.
"Class time." Her whisper falls in the small space between them.
Disappointment thick in her voice.
"We could skip." He proposes, his lips pressing against her own softly again.
Enid's eyes widen, she's still not entirely used to his teasing side.
He seemed to reserve it almost solely for her.
She giggles, pushing him away playfully.
"You're the professor. You can't skip." She admonishes, a grin painting her lips.
"Actually, darling, I think being the professor means I can do whatever I want." He grins devilishly, tugging her back into his orbit.
He tugs on one of her rosy curls, presses kisses along the freckled bridge of her nose.
She loses herself again for a moment, sinking against him.
A voice is heard from out in the hallway followed by a laugh.
Enid pulls herself back out again.
"I'm not getting in the way of other people's education just because I want..." She trails off, a blush blooming on her cheeks.
Theo's possessive gaze never leaves her as he picks up his briefcase from his desk.
"We can finish later this evening. And we're about a month away from Winter break. Then we won't have to sneak around with stolen moments." He promises, pressing a final kiss to the top of her head.
She leans up to fix his hair and straighten his tie before she attends to herself.
Theodore watches her with soft eyes as she slips from his office.
Her classes pass by quickly, Theodore teaches them about social cognition and Dante has them read aloud their short stories from earlier in the week.
She has gotten much more confident in sharing her writing.
Her story this week was about a small boy who made swords out of newspapers and fought grown men with weapons of steel.
Even Sophie, the girl who seemed to hate everyone in the class except for Dante, was starting to take the class more seriously.
However, she still flirted with Dante in a rather non-inconspicuous manner.
Enid had to bite her lip to keep from making a comment each time she called him "Professor" in that sickeningly sultry tone.
The unimpressed looks Dante shot her way appeased her need to claim him enough.
The air smelled of snow as she stepped outside, the sky a cloudy grey.
"I really liked your short story." Emilia grins at her under freshly cut bangs.
"I really like your short hair." Enid giggled as her friend pretended to flip her hair over one shoulder.
Except it was too short for that now.
The once long strands are now chopped just past her chin.
She looks like a gorgeous vintage actress with the way it curls at the end.
"I'm still getting used to it. I honestly was so scared it was going to look like a coconut." The tan girl laughs, her attention shifting as a figure approaches them.
"Even if it did look like a coconut, you'd still be the prettiest coconut I've ever seen." Jake smiles boyishly as he locks their fingers together.
He's wearing a sweatshirt for some sport team Enid doesn't recognize.
"Flatterer. You're just trying to butter me up, so I play video games with you later." Emilia sticks her tongue out at him.
Enid watches with a soft smile as the pair playfully bicker back and forth.
She is happy to see her friend so obviously smitten.
And as she watches Jake take her friend's bag to carry, she knows the feelings are more than mutual.
"Anyways, we're headed to the pizza place in town, want to come with?" Emilia turns back to her with a beam.
"I'll take a rain check. I want to get started on the new prompt Dr. Romano assigned." Enid's scarf flutters with a sudden gust of wind.
"Poo. You should really get extended deadlines since you're his intern." Her friend says, hugging her goodbye.
Enid grins as she thinks of all the other, much better, benefits she gets instead.
She'd take what she had with them over extensions any day.
Dante gracefully bounds down the stairs as the pair disappears from view.
His bag beats against his thigh, thump thump, as he reaches her.
"There's my topolino. God, sitting across from you and not being able to touch you has to be my own personal version of hell." Dante brushes a wayward curl behind her ear.
She leans into his affection, his fingers surprisingly warm in the frigid air.
"Emilia says I should get extended deadlines since I'm your intern." Enid smirks up at him.
A predatory smile curls on his lips.
"Hmm. Is that so? I think you'll need to earn any extra extensions, little one." His responding smirk puts hers to shame.
His emerald eyes twinkle down at her.
"I'll remember that." She tells him, her fingers brushing against his.
Together, they turn to walk toward the faculty parking lot.
"Speaking of Emilia, has she seemed suspicious at all about our little... interaction she was present for?" He asks, tugging her scarf up to cover more of her face.
"Not really. I just told her you have a little bit of a temper sometimes. Which isn't a lie." Enid wrinkles her nose as she smiles at him.
"Little minx." He pushes her lightly.
Everything feels so normal, so wonderful that she can barely feel the worry still buzzing in the back of her mind.
But it's still there, however dim.
Because it'd been nearly two and a half weeks since the ball.
And there still weren't any answers about Flynt.
How he had slipped in and out of the estate despite the plethora of security guards stationed around the exterior and interior.
Enid did her best not to think about it.
About how terrified she had felt.
About the threat he had made against her safety.
The immortals had been even more protective since that night, one of them with her at nearly all times.
They kept her busy outside of school.
Music and gun lessons with Alexander took up most of her time.
The Winter Gala was just a little over a month away and Alex wanted to make sure she was completely prepared for her performance.
It would be her first time playing for a large group of people after all.
Self defense lessons with Dante and Theodore took up quite a bit of her time, too, and she found she fell asleep each night with an exhausted brain heavy with information.
Enid didn't mind, though, because she got to fall asleep in three sets of wonderful arms.
Ever since the night she had told them she loved them, they had made a habit of joining her in her room every evening.
She loved it.
It was like the sleepovers she had never had as a child.
Falling asleep with them and waking up to their warmth was something she had never realized she wanted so badly.
Enid shrugged off her coat as they entered the estate, putting it up on her designated hook in the entranceway.
The smell of popcorn and sweets was thick in the air and she grinned at Dante.
Skidding down the hall in her socks, she found Theo and Alex setting up blankets in her favorite sitting room.
The capacious space had the prettiest fireplace and a projection screen on the opposite wall.
"Hi angel. I missed you." Alexander set down the pillow in his hand before he pulled her into a tight hug.
"I missed you more. What's all this?" Her wide eyes took in the small fort they had built and the many bowls of snacks lining the table beside it.
"We've kept you so busy lately with all the lessons and school. And we haven't had much time lately to simply be with you, without an agenda." Alexander explained, pressing a kiss to the inner wrist of her hand.
"So, we're having a movie night!" Dante declared, finding a spot on the massive pile of blankets and holding out his arms for her.
A beaming smile stretched across her cheeks and she quickly gave them each a hug before settling in beside Dante.
He tugged her onto his lap, the other two coming to join them on each side of her.
She leaned sideways as the beginning credits of a Disney movie sounded.
Her back snug against Alex's chest as her legs stretched out across Dante and Theodore's laps.
Theo passed her a bowl of popcorn and a glass of lemonade.
Enid wished she could freeze the moment.
Snuggled up with her three men, nothing but animated mermaids on her mind.
As Theodore massaged her feet and Dante fed her popcorn, she wanted to stay there forever.
Enid knew she couldn't though, so she did her best to soak all the loveliness up while she could.
A giggle left her as the crabby crab began to complain.
Safe and warm in their arms, she didn't even notice as snow began to fall outside the window.

I hope you enjoyed some sweet time with our four.
However, I will be honest in saying that this is the calm before the storm.
Things are going to start moving quite quickly from here on out.
Hopefully you're all ready!
Comments fill my heart with joy.
All my love,
