Nanny for the Don: Chapter 11
Nanny for the Don: An Age Gap, Billionaire Romance (Silver Fox Daddies)
Weâre lying there in a comfortable silence, the kind that comes after youâve just shared something intense.
But outOut of nowhere, Willow sits up. I watch as she turns to me with a worried expression, her eyes flicking over my face like sheâs searching for something. She doesnât say a word, and it starts to gnaw at me.
âWhat?â I ask, my voice steady, though I can sense thereâs something serious on her mind. She hesitates, biting her lip in that way she does when sheâs unsure of herself. I donât like seeing her uncertain, so I gently push her, trying to get her to open up. âCome on, Willow. Out with it.â
Finally, she takes a breath and asks, âIs this what you hired me for?â
Iâm confused, not quite following her. âThis?â I repeat, raising an eyebrow.
âYeah. You know. This.â She gestures around us, her meaning sinking in a second later.
Sex.
A flicker of offense runs through me. I sit up, leveling her with a steady look. âFirst off, Ms. M hired you. I had no hand in the selection process beyond giving final approvalâand I hadnât even seen what you looked like before then.â My tone is firm, but I want her to understand thereâs no hidden agenda here. âYou were brought on because you were the right fit for my girls, not for anything else.â
I see the tension in her ease slightly, but thereâs still a shadow of doubt in her eyes, one Iâll need to address. And I can tell thereâs more sheâs not saying.
She gets up, moving toward her clothes, picking them up one by one. I watch her as she pulls on her thong and then her sports bra, her movements deliberate but graceful.
âYou said the other night this would never happen again.â
I shake my head. âI know. But dammit Willow, thereâs just something about you.â
She nods and looks down. âI know. I feel it too. I told myself I wouldnât get caught up again.â
âMe either, but here we are. I have to warn you though, this can be a physical thing only,â I clarify, watching her reaction closely.
She narrows her eyes, not in anger, but in sharp, calculated thought, processing my words.
I keep going, knowing itâs better to be up front. âI know this sounds callous, but I donât want you getting any ideas about a relationship starting between us. I donât have the time or inclination for it.â
I see her absorb what Iâve said, her expression unreadable. I know itâs a lot to lay out like this, but itâs better she knows where I stand. I canât afford complications, no matter how much Iâm drawn to her. She needs to understand that clearly.
âThis is about keeping things simple,â I say.
She stays quiet at first, slipping into her leggings with a practiced ease. I take one last hungry glance at her perfect ass before it disappears underneath the fabric with a satisfying snap.
As she pulls on her tank top, I wonder if Iâve pushed her too far. Maybe she feels rejected, or worse, humiliated.
She checks the iPad, her face giving nothing away. I quickly get dressed too, pulling on my shorts and shirt, all the while keeping an eye on her, trying to read her. The silence stretches on, making me wonder if Iâve screwed this up.
Finally, she turns to me, her eyes locking onto mine with a steady, unflinching gaze.. âIâm not looking to get attached to you either.â
The relief that floods through me is immediate, though I donât let it show. Instead, I give her a slow nod, acknowledging her words. Thereâs a confidence in her tone, in the way she carries herself now, that wasnât there before. Itâs like sheâs made her decision and is sticking to it, no hesitation.
âGood,â I say, my voice equally firm.. âThatâs exactly what I wanted to hear.â
She turns back to the iPad, her attention shifting, and I canât help but admire the way she handled that. She knows what she wants, and I respect that. This is exactly how it needs to beâsimple, just like we agreed.
I continue, making sure thereâs no room for misunderstanding. âJust because weâre adding this extra dimension to our relationship doesnât mean I donât expect you to stay on top of your nanny duties.â
She snaps her head up, flashing me a hard look thatâs all fire. âI would never neglect the girls, and I sure as hell wouldnât use my body to get out of doing my job.â
I let out a low chuckle. âSeems like I offend you pretty easily.â
She rolls her eyes but canât hide the smile tugging at her lips. âYeah, well, maybe you should work on your delivery.â
Her laughter fills the room, a sound I find myself enjoying more than I expected. Thereâs something about it that lightens the air, easing the tension I didnât even realize I was holding onto.
I give her a small nod, still smirking. âAlright, Willow. Go enjoy your day off.â
She nods, gathering her things and heading toward the door.
This arrangement might be unconventional, but Iâm confident itâs the right move for both of us.
Simple, straightforward, and no strings attachedâjust the way I like it.
