Chapter 76: Dramatic

Sweating and hungry like a pig, I walked in the dining hall only to see Steven kissing Kimberley passionately

"Ew!" I blurted. "Find a room!" I laughed loudly

These two had been behaving like they could never get enough of each other. And ew! I can't go into their private life

Kimberley pulled herself away, blushing all over while Steven growled in disapproval. Kimberley tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and grinned. "How was your training today?" she asked as she came to me and made me sit at the table

"It was good," I said with a long exhale. "But there's something strange happening with me."

"What is it, Penelope?" Steven asked, narrowing his eyes. He leaned over the backrest of the chair

I rubbed the back of my neck. I think I was imagining the whisper in my head and also that growl. "It's probably nothing..." I said

Steven rounded the chair and sat on it

"Penelope, tell me what is going on!" He sounded so concerned that I didn't feel like hiding it from him. At the same time, I didn't want to risk looking like a lunatic. "I wanted to go and meet Willow!" I blurted, trying to change the topic

Crease formed on Steven's forehead. "Why?"

I bit my lip. "I just want to ask her as to why she did all this to me?"

"And what answer do you expect from her?" he asked, crossing his elbows on the table and leaning in front

My mind went blank. "I don't know." Frankly, I wanted to take revenge from her for selling me to at the House of Red Doors. How could she? Didn't she love me even for a day? "Penelope, we both will go and meet her but not like this." Steven broke my reverie. "There's a lot I want to do to her."

"What do you want to do, Steven?" I asked, not understanding

"I will destroy her, Penelope, and I will destroy her so badly that-"

"Alpha Steven!" Mateo's urgent voice startled us

"Yes?" Steven didn't like that he was interrupting

"A-Alpha Dr-Drexel is here!"

"What the fuck!" Steven rose from his chair and so did I. "Iam going to kill that bastard for coming in my pack unannounced!" He charged towards the gardens

"Alpha Steven, please wait a minute!" Mateo stopped him. "Alpha Drexel is not here in the pack, but he 1s standing at the gates of the border. He is waiting for your orders to enter your territory. He says that he will wait for half an hour and after that, he will just... enter."

"And I will rip him into pieces if he enters!" Steven snarled. "Get all the warriors over there."

"Alpha Steven, even if we get all the warriors, we won't be able to defeat Alpha Drexel. They

are over two hundred in number and encamped outside."

The news was like a jolt to me. I wanted to run and meet him. Did he come for me? My excitement had shot to the roof. So the growl I had heard, was it his? "Alpha Steven!" Mateo put his hands up. "Wait." Steven growled. "Don't stop me!"

"Alpha Drexel wants to have your audience. He 1s saying that he will come only with his Beta and Gamma to meet you. He wants to sever his connection with Kimberley. Your Beta, Neo, is already there at the border."

That made Steven halt in his tracks. "He wants to sever the connection."

"That's right," Mateo replied, his shoulders

sagging with relief because now Steven was a little calm

Steven became very quiet for a long time. Then he said, "In that case, allow entry to his five best warriors along with him. We will have this meeting in the library. You will station our best watriors outside the library."

"Ask Neo to come here and you will stay there at the border to keep an eye on his wolves, okay?"

Now Steven was so tense that his claws slipped out and so did his fangs. "I think one of us is going to end up dead today!"

"Please don't say that," Kimberley cried. She threw her arms around his chest and buried her face in it

Steven closed his eyes and his nerves calmed with his mate's touch. "Okay, get them here, but don't allow anyone other than his beta and gamma with him now."

"Yes Alpha."

"lam waiting with my mate and sister in the library."

Mateo nodded and then quickly left

Steven looked at us and hugged both of us. He kissed the crown of heads and whispered, "If anything happens to me, remember you are not poor."
