Chapter 51
I Refuse to Divorce!
Lilith was feeling triumphant, but her mood quickly soured. "Dad!"
Mason responded casually, "Alright."
With a careless gesture, he let go of Lilith's hand.
Whether it was her father's failure to catch her properly or not, Lilith
unexpectedly fell straight to the ground. The leg that had undergone
surgery made a snapping sound as it broke again, and the friction
burned the skin on her arm with the ground. It tore open, leaving a
large, bloody mess.
Lilith winced in pain, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Her
father scooped her up into his arms in a panic.
Mason lowered his gaze, his tone cold. âI have some matters to attend
to at the company. I'll be leaving.â
The elevator doors opened, and he exited without a second glance.
Ava hurriedly followed.
From behind, Lilith pouted, "Mr. Mason... Mr. Mason!"
Eric, holding her in his arms, sighed softly.
"Sweetheart, have we gone too far? Setting up Mrs. Zoe and having
your mother confront the young lady... What if Mr. Mason decides not to
marry you? What will we do then?"
Lilith seethed with frustration. âI refuse to believe I can't capture
Mason's heart."
Ella returned from the police station just in time to witness Zoe being
assaulted.
Ella's temper flared easily.
Disregarding whatever bargaining chips Zoe had, she lunged forward,
slapping Carly while unleashing a barrage of scathing words.
âYou dog! How dare you lay a hand on Zoe? Who do you think you
are? Your daughter is just a tramp who opened her legs for Mason at
best. Your whole family is not even worthy of being in Zoe's presence!"
Carly had only bullied genteel people before. Faced with Ella's fierce
onslaught, she was no match. In a short while, her face had been
transformed into a swollen, unrecognizable mess.
She threatened to sue Ella, but Ella was unfazed and kicked her in the
ribs.
"Go ahead! I'm right here. If you don't, I'l make the other side of your
face look just like this one!"
Carly, relying on her connection with Mason, still wanted to act
arrogantly.
However, Leslie stepped forward.
He pulled Ella away and faced Carly, asking nonchalantly, âIf I cripple
you now, how many years do you think I would get?"
Carly was frightened. She hesitated for a moment.
Ella burst out again, slapping Carly across the face twice.
Although she vented her anger, Mia's case had already been officially
filed and couldn't be changed.
Ella was afraid that Zoe might take it hard.
However, Zoe remained calm. She washed her face and thanked Leslie
quietly. Ella wanted to stay with Zoe, but Leslie forcibly took her away.
They arrived at Leslie's mansion.
Soon, the luxurious bedroom had clothes strewn all over the floor.
Ella cried bitterly. She scolded and cried, ending with, "Nothing can
happen to Zoe's family anymore... Help her, Leslie, and I'll give birth to
a child for you!"
A fleeting relationship connected them.
Once, at the height of their affection, Leslie pinched her chin and asked
her to bear a child for him. At that time, Ella was only 19 years old. She
couldn't agree.
Now, she changed her mind.
Leslie wasn't a fool. He paused and lightly touched Ella's face.
Sneering, he asked, "That's such a big sacrifice! Tell me, are you doing
this for Zoe, or for Noah?"
Ella had a momentary loss of composure. This name was a taboo in
her heart.
She thought no one had noticed.
Furious and embarrassed, she retorted, "Why do you care who I'm
doing this for? Leslie, are you even a man? Can you sleep with a
woman and have a child?"
Leslie chuckled.
He pulled her long hair and forced her to lift her head. He pressed his
face close, his voice dangerous.
"Do you really think I'm that stupid?"
Ella teared up from the pain.
Then, his voice softened, "No matter how loud you moan, I know
exactly what you are thinking. Moreover, you were still just a kid when
you were with me. You're not skilled enough to play mind games with
me yet, Ella."
